We are building a new home. When should I order furniture so that it arrives soon after we move in? In other words, how long does it take to ship large pieces of furniture?

From my experience, this is company is to be avoided. Sounds like your life will be hectic enough for awhile so you don't need additional stress. Buy elsewhere is my advice.

Talk to a live person at their customer service. Their delivery times are spotty at best. Get the name of the person you talk to and obtain a commitment from them. If they won't give you absolute dates, get whatever you need somewhere else. They talk a good story, but most folks I've seen review their response and on-time delivery have not had a good experience. I doubt that I'll ever order anything else from them.

First, run away from Wayfair and Joss and Main! Choose another online store. These guys will disappoint you and they do not stand behind the products. They don't put true value reviews out to be seen so the ratings are not true. I spent hundreds of dollars and received a product that did not last 4 months. If you expect it to last based on how you value money, don't buy it here.

I also moved & ordered furniture after moving, and this is what I recommend:
-
-1-Read reviews, and take measurements. You do not want to have to return a dining room table, and you don't want to order table lamps unless you know the height lamp you need.
-2- Decide what you want, and put it on a list you make on their site. (You may want to have "backups" in case they aren't in stock when you order)
-3-Don't be in a hurry; you'll end up buying things that you don't like, want, or need. I highly recommend calling Wayfair's Customer Service (or "CHAT") about delivery dates.
My experiences with Wayfair have been very positive, and I ordered A LOT from them. I've ordered from Hayneedle, Pottery Barn, and Overstock, and Wayfair was easier and faster (and cheaper for similar items.)

I had a great experience with Wayfair (very prompt delivery) in Florida and so did my friend in California... in fact, her piece was delivered within 36 hours. As others have suggested, I would call Wayfair directly and let them know your preferred delivery dates.

I have had only one experience with Wayfair, but it was a positive experience. They had what I was looking for, a cherry coffee table, and it was a well made solid wood piece. They delivered promptly and free. It arrived within 5 days and was very well packaged.

I suggest you call the Wayfair telephone number. Get the info from a live person...

It totally depends on what You order. Some of the stuff comes from different warehouses. Also it doesn't always ship out right away. Some stuff takes up to 7 days before they even get it ready for shipping. Its Depending on where You live too. Wayfair shipping is the longest going and the least dependable. It will always come much later than the estimated date.
