You can earn Visa cards and PayPal rewards from among the many gift cards. That's the closest to actually earning money.
It varies depending on what tier of gift card you are interested in. Several hundred points will get you a small gift card of around $3. One-thousand points gets you a $10 gift card, I believe. 2500 points typically gets you a $25 gift card, but there are usually discounted gift cards that you can take advantage of.
I've been a member with Swagbucks over 7 years and never had any problems with stolen identity. I would not suspect any problems associated with Swagbucks directly

Many giftcards are sent electronically. Some are within a few hours, others can take a few days. How well they pay depends on which activity you're referring to and also how much time and effort you devote to earning. Some activities are USELESS, like watching videos - you watch 15 30-second videos and are only paid 2SB, the equivalent of 2¢. For 7.5mins, that's asinine! However, some of the activities, like the surveys, in-store shopping/receipt upload and games (such as Swago) can offer a great bonus here and there.
You need to earn swagbucks to get a gift card. As few as 300-500 swagbucks will get you a gift card (worth $3 - $5). Better gift cards are available for more swagbucks.
