Here is the best answer I've researched: Google loves unique and original content and quality links to the inside of your website. It's the linking out of your site and displaying superficial ads with none or little content they don't like. If you use many affiliate ads, make sure to write a paragraph by each one to create original content. Then, you can always use the nofollow tag in your links to tell Googlebot not to follow that link. They still know it exists but will obey your rule and this saves on giving away your link juice. That's the way to do it so you don't get penalized for a non substantive website. Remember don't use copied content from your affiliate since they can find duplicates. If affiliates are all you have, like me, remember the rules. There are no guarantees.
