It is about time to stop giving credit card details to make a booking, they should not ask people to expose their details un-crypted. A booking is just a booking it should NOT require any kind of commitment or payment in advance.

Sorry a little late. Generally we have cancelled without any problems ie if that particular accomodation allows you to cancel. You can't do it at the last moment to be fair. Good luck. We normally pay after our stay but occasionally we've paid upfront.

I never had a problem when I cancel within 24 hours. However if you read the fine print... you know the print that makes you crossed eyed because they dont want you to see it.It states that you will be charged for atleast a one night stay if you dont cancel soon enough. Dont believe Booking has anything to do with that. Its the hotel themselves. Good luck

Hope to cancel or get a refund? Good luck with Booking.com.The only genuine "guaranteed" is that you will get screwed by this sleazy organization.

Booking.com are purely middlemen. They take no responsibility either end. I don't take credit cards electronically, only when card is present so if someone doesn't turn up I get nothing and booking.com explicitly stated to me that it's between me and the customer. Booking.com dominate the search engines by paying Google and people feel they have no choice but to use them. Find where you want to book and then google them separately. You will get a better deal specially in smaller establishments who don't want to pay booking.com 15 percent commission for nothing

I cannot fault booking. Com. Contact them again with all details failing that take them to the small claims court in your country i know here it costs 40 euro they wont want the costs incurred by the actions but give them one more chance to put it right

The customer services will not help at all if you have problem with the hotels. And also take care when you see free cancelation in booking.com they will charge for the first night.

Yes we have cancelled but it was through the hotel. Booking.com requested we talk to manager of hotel and manager contacted booking.com.
