I use Google AdWords occasionally for marketing a couple of businesses my husband and I own. Just used Google AdWords a couple weeks ago without a hitch to market my husband's pressure washing business. Then, today, I decide to create a new Ad for my resume writing service and the ad did not run. I logged on to see if there were any issues and there was an outstanding balance from the prior ad we had run before. Ok. Fine. So I go into the account section and make a payment with our credit card on file. Payment processes fine, I get an email confirmation that my payment has been successfully processed and I wait a few hours to make sure everything gets updated and still my ad is not running. I log in again, to see if maybe I did something wrong when setting up the ad and now I am getting a "your account is suspended due to suspicious payments on account." The only payment I made was the payment that was due and it processed successfully to my card. There was nothing suspicious about it. So, I contact AdWords customer support and I get a man who identifies himself as a receptionist, claiming his job is to direct me to the right place. I thought I called AdWords Support, but I guess to get to that team, you have to go through a buffer receptionist team that knows squat about service or their customers. So I start explaining my issue to this person, who says he is going to transfer me to customer support and they will help me get set up. Then I mentioned the suspension on the account and explained why it should never have been suspended in the first place. Now he starts telling me about this appeal form that I already filled out. (I am a business and do not have time to wait a week for a response. I'd like to speak to someone so I can address any questions or concerns they may have on my account. Moreover, I'd like to make sure nothing wonky is going on with my account as well for my own protection.) I should not have to wait a week to hear back from someone or get a canned response that doesn't allow replies. I NEED TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE! Now the "receptionist" tells me that because my account is in suspension status, I am not eligible to be able to speak to someone from customer support nevermind the fact that I have NO IDEA WHY it was suspended in the first place and I AM TRYING TO GIVE YOU GUYS MY MONEY! I am a paying customer and I should not be treated this way. The guy tells me that I have to wait for the response from the online web form and it takes a week and my only communication with them is through this form. He says that the "suspension team" has no phone support or service whereby customers who are incorrectly placed in suspended status have a recourse for action. I also inquired if I would be getting some kind of a credit for the hassle of being forced to wait a week to be able to advertise my business and I was told he did not have the authority... but he could not transfer me to one that does. I think I will write a letter to Google's CEO and had I know this was going to happen, I probably would not have bothered paying my balance and I will be looking elsewhere for my advertising needs. Thanks but no thanks. You just lost a good paying customer.
