Considering that it's completely free to use it's really not too bad. Of course you have to be aware of scammers and gold diggers which happen to also be on the paid sites anyway.
Pros:
* It's completely free to use. None of that nonsense of a tiered system or having to pay just to read and respond to messages
*In my experience, most of the people on there are real - not fake bots. Of course there are exceptions.
*Scammers and gold-diggers are fairly easy to filter out if you use common sense. Did I mention they exist on other sites where you have to pay to play?
*User friendly interface both on a desktop and on mobile
*There are no restrictions on giving out off-site information to chat with people (e.g. FB, LINE, phone numbers.etc.) So you don't really need to stay on the site for too long if you meet your match.
Cons:
*While the site is free, I suspect they sell your email/information in exchange. I've received a barrage of spam emails on a throwaway email, which was only opened and used for DIA. Again, common sense goes a long way here with the personal information you provide.
*There is an approval process before you can actually use the site. I see some others mentioning their profiles being rejected so it's worth pointing out.
*There is moderation on the site. I've never had any issues with it but it seems to be a thorn for some people.
Overall, DIA is what you make of it. I think it's a mistake to blame a whole site on a some bad actors (scammers, gold-diggers, etc.) which are on many other sites too. If you go in with lower expectations and use common sense it's really not too bad of a site to meet someone.
