*Toronto Police had to be involved! A man named Mike came by our house. He said that he was doing work in the area. He said he noticed some damage on our roof. He said it would cost 3200 dollars and demanded 1300 dollars upfront. I said OK and gave him the cash. They started the work. About halfway through, he came back to me and said he had bad news. There was wood rot on the wood where they'd removed the shingles. He said the whole roof would needed to be replaced. The shingles, the plywood as well as insulation. Mike said that if the wood rot was not taken care of it could spread throughout the rest of the house. I said ok and suddenly the price went from 3200 to 5000. Mike then came to me again. He said that they'd found that some damage had come to the rafters, and that they needed to be sprayed with some chemicals. Mike said that if this wasn't done the roof would collapse on itself due to the rafters being damaged. He quoted me 4,000 and said he needed it in cash before they started again.
