I haven't had a problem renting from them, but this time I wanted to buy my rental. What they wanted to charge me to buy the book, when added to my rental fee, meant that I would have bought the book from them for TWICE the cost I could have bought it from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and directly from the publisher. I CHECKED! Also, you can buy the book used from them for $21.95. The agent on Live Chat was kind of rude when I pointed out that charging students (or anyone) twice the fair market value for something is tacking advantage of them. She wrote, "We don't force anyone to rent or purchase from us. You have the free will to spend your money where you want." (I have the screenshots to prove it.) She did not respond when I wrote that it's not unreasonable to expect fair business practices. I am filing a Better Business Bureau claim. Be safe and use a different company. They just want your money and will charge you as much as they can!
