As a breeder, I used to post my puppies here and things seemed to run fairly smoothly. Over time there has been an explosion of new "breeders" and omg the puppies being sold are atrocious! They're sickly, no health testing done, nowhere near breed standard, being sold as purebred when they're clearly not. It's awful!
I stopped advertising for a while because I didn't want to be associated with the byb's and apparent mill-like breeders.
I ended up going back to the site after about a year or so and they changed it to where you have to pay to use it. Like, what? What kind of additional services are you offering? What kinds of safeguards for buyers and breeders alike, are you offering? What quality service have you added that warrants charging breeders a subscription to advertise when literally nothing has changed except for the fact that what once was free, isn't any longer? And on top of that, you're limited to how many photos or what info you can include. Like, what am I paying you for exactly?
Nothing is screened, breeders nor buyers. No one is required to show proof of health testing, licensure, vetting, etc.
I decided to pay to post a puppy. That puppy sold, and since nothing has changed except for the pay wall, I hadn't posted any more. But when I went to mark the puppy as sold, it's requiring me to renew the subscription in order to let people know that it's no longer available. No, I'm not doing that. I guess it'll just stay up there forever.
