I eded up tapping into HealthTap when I was in between full time college work and actual work; needless to say I hardly had the time to drive to the hospital and wait in the long line with other MediCal insurance holders...
With HealthTap the doctor was able to "see" me right away (most GP's are available 24/7) and called in necessary medication to my pharmacy, unfortunately, he misspelled my name, so my insurance declined me coverage and I ended up having to cough up $79 out of pocket.
However, the online doctor strictly advised me to go in to see a GP IRL, perhaps because virtual hospital visits are still far from being standard practice.
So, depending on the case and health history, HeathTap can be either very effective and efficient way to get well, or a complete waste of money.
Hi Julie,
I hope this message finds you well.
I'm sorry that it's been so long since we have located this review in order to reach out. We read your comments, and would like to ask some other questions related to your experience if you have the time.
You noted that the doctor misspelled your name during the consult or on the medication? This would not be possible because all account details are controlled by the user (you). Would it be possible to share with us the email address you used to create your HealthTap account? Changing the name under your profile is as simple as selecting the "Health Profile" tab in the main menu.
Also, regarding your comment about needing to see a doctor "in-person," it is simply a reality that not all use-cases can be handled best virtually. There will always be a need for in-person evaluations, however we aim to remove as many inefficiencies as possible by taking the best use-cases that can be treated without in-person contact.
Although a lot has changed in the past 1.5 years, any additional feedback you have to help us improve our platform would be much appreciated. If you have the time, I invite you to check out the website again and try out new features like Dr. Ai.
Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help. We hope to remedy this relationship and improve your experience on HealthTap next time.
Thank you.
Regards,
The HealthTap Team
