My 11 year old son, who has had the sniffles and water eyes for the last year or so, (on and off) received some interesting results from the Virtual Lab allergy at home test. He had a very high score with cat dander, which we figured to be the case. But he also had a very high score with dust mites, mold, and shellfish. The dust-mites led us to covering his mattress and pillows with allergy free products and dusting / vacuuming more often then usual. It has helped with the chronic sniffles. He has never had shrimp or other shellfish... which is a blessing because perhaps we've avoided an anaphylactic reaction! Glad we didn't find that one out the hard way.
The test was extremely easy and we avoided going to the doctor for both the finger stick and the follow-up. The NP gave us a great report as to who to handle his allergies. Easy, non expensive and well worth the investment.
