After six months of development on a project, and in moving my application to their production environment, my application to move to the production API was rejected and my account was suspended without explanation or warning. Support responded to my inquiry by explaining that they reject sole proprietorships, and they proceeded to up-sell their $2k/month plan, when the pay-as-you-go plan was the incentive as a single developer to build the product in the first place.
We understand your frustration that information and messaging regarding not allowing sole proprietorships to utilize our service was not more forward. We have since clarified on the page linked below that we cannot work with sole proprietorships. We appreciate the feedback you have provided, and will use it as we constantly work to improve our messaging about who can use Dwolla and how they can use our services.
