  • Wrights Impact Window And Door

4/8/19

I decided to write this review from notes I was keeping on the project because I was immensely impressed with the performance of Wrights Impact Windows & Doors. All personal I came in contact with during this project were courteous and professional.
Wrights Impact Windows and Doors did everything they promised and did it well. I can highly recommend Wrights Impact Windows & Doors without any hesitation

Chronology of Impact Windows & Doors Project

I contacted Gil Lama from Wright's Impact Windows & Door about a quote to compare to an existing quote and he came by our house soon after that. He was very knowledgeable and explained to my wife and I all the different alternatives that we had. After several days of going back and forth between the two contractors we decided to go with Wrights Impact. Our decision was not based on price since they were not the lowest but on the fact that they seemed the most transparent and professional and also after research I concluded that quality of their product and guarantees were superior. After concluding the deal Gil Lama came over and prepared the agreement with all the items and specs and went over everything with us. He told us someone would be contacting us and coming to take more accurate measurements before proceeding with order.

Approximately one week later a very cordial person from Wright contacted me and set up an appointment for someone to come for the final measurements. The person came and took measurements and was gone in less than an hour. He was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions.

The following week we received a document from our association that Wright had contacted for the association approval. The association asked us to sign the request and send back to them, which we did.

On 10/10/2018 we received the permitting paperwork from Wright for our signature. We sent it back to Laura Moss on 10/11/2018 signed and notarized. They even sent a self-addressed envelope to send docs back. At this point everything has gone very smoothly and at a 5 star level so far.

The head office notified me that my windows and doors would be in late December. Talked with Anthony on the 22nd of December to set up installation schedule and he was very accommodating and professional. Our job was scheduled for January 29,2019 (we requested this date because of holidays and our other commitments).

Day One - Kitchen Sliding door & window + Dinning sliding door & Living room window
It is now January 29th 2019 and the delivery and installers arrived as per the time promised (8:15 Am) All CGI windows and doors were unloaded promptly and the installers started working on the first sliding (removal of old) door at Around 9 AM.
They covered all furniture and set up a plastic barrier to contain dust propagation.
By 11 AM they had the frame in for the new CGI sliding doors and by noon they had the impact sliding doors in (pending sealing and finish) and ready to start on the next larger sliding door. Ryan (Wrights field supervisor) came by and went over with me all the specifics of the job. I found him very knowledgeable and professional. I asked that one of the windows be done last and he was quick to adjust the schedule accordingly. The next sliding door went as smoothly as the first and was ready at 4 PM. They then applied sealing material to the first sliding door as well as termination plates to cover the gaps etc. and then did the same to the second larger sliding door. The traffic sound from a main avenue behind our rear wall was reduced significantly. After finishing with both sliding doors they took out the kitchen and living/dinning room windows and replaced them with the CGI impact windows. As with sliding doors they then worked on finish and sealing. At the end of the day we were very happy with the great job in controlling dust and cleaning before leaving for the day.
End of day one at 6:30 PM - Day one would get an honest rating of 5 stars from both of us

Day Two - Main Living Room Window Bedroom 2 Mater Bedroom Master Bathroom Loft Area TV room - Bedroom 3 (Office)
Crew came in early 8:30 AM and started on main living room window, which they finished by 10 AM, they then moved to the second story and started on Bedroom 2 Window, which was finished at around 12:00 PM. Next up was the master bedroom window, which was finished at 2 PM. The Master bathroom window was started next at around 2:15 PM and finished at 3:50 PM. Loft Area (TV room) was started at 3:55 PM and finished at 5:15. Bedroom 3 (Office) was started at 5:20 PM and finished quickly at 6:25. As on the previous day they took extreme care in keeping dust and debris contained. They completed the day by cleaning up all areas thoroughly. We were again very satisfied with the professionalism and care for detail.
End of day 2 at 6:30 PM - Day 2 gets same 5 stars rating as day one.

Day 3 Arch Window
On day 3 they only had the task of installing the smallest but most problematic window that was an arch (half moon) window high up on second floor. They took around 2+ hours just on this window because of its location and because the size was a bit over. The installers were amazing and were able to solve this problem and fit it in and seal it. They also repaired all stucco around the windows, which looked better after they finished than before. They also cleared out all tools and equipment uncovered all furniture and swept all debris and left everything exceptionally clean. This crew was exceptional all around and gets 5 stars without question. As the crew was finishing the truck that was to pick up all the trash (old windows, doors & debris) came and started loading the substantial trash pile. This task took about 2 hours and was completed very efficiently as well. Now only thing left is waiting for inspectors to come and sign off.

Inspectors came on 2/14/2019 and found everything in order and signed off on the project. Wrights supervisor, who was present during the inspection, finished installing some trim that was left off so that the city inspector could see and approve work. He also removed all the required stickers (building dept requirement) after inspector left and cleaned glass.
I have included a few pictures that show how they set up around the opening they are working at the time.
