  • Two Men and a Truck - Bay City

I waited 6+ months to write the review to be certain my review will not be emotional driven.

I hired the company around Feb 2023 to do a long distance move, from Arkansas to Florida in May of 2023. From a two bedroom apartment on the third floor (2 flights of stairs, about 30 steps) to a two bedroom apartment on the first floor (1 flight of stair, about 12 steps).

All seem professional, their representative (a lady) came to my home in Arkansas to assess all the furniture and amount of items. She saw all my big/heavy hardwood furniture, wall mirrors/paintings, a wall of books, special care items such as a 150lbs statue, an antique wooden trunk, etc. She assured me, "No problem." She spent an extensive amount of time on explaining how they do not move thru a third party truck company in between enroute. Hence, the guys I see in AR shall be the same ones in FL. That part was true. "No worries, we even handle the move for the governor, you are in good hands." To this day, the only "emotional" remark I would make is, "I guess since I am not the governor, I got a very different service/experience."

There was no trouble with the actual moving date, on the contrary. Upon arrival. A Pensake truck and two guys. It is indeed "Two Men and A Truck". Although I was starting to worry, "How will the two of you move my things to the truck without breaking your back?"

Then, I noticed, to my horror, how. Labels with "this side up" or "fragile" did not matter, everything was stacked however it could fit on a handheld trolley. I watched my belongings "bounced their way each step of the way down 2 flights of stairs" by one man and a trolley. That was how my dryer, washer, 7 feet long sideboard, boxes of wine glasses, etc. made their way... I have moved many times, I never saw a moving company this disrespectful to one's belongings.

Anyone can tell, those two men were exhausted for it was a minimally 3 men job. They had to take many breaks. One of them even threw up. It was 80+ degrees in AR. Five hours later, they were still loading the truck and that was when they told me, my 6 feet wall mirrors will not make it to the truck... Well, the lady who came to assess did a list on the manifest, my understanding, all items on the list have to make it. That was why I used a moving company and did not rent a Pensake truck myself. When I contacted the lady, she said, "Well, you got in their way to start with because you did not finish packing the kitchen, they should have been gone by now." After they left, I found that many other items were left behind, including a must move by them statue that weights 150lb...

A lot more nightmares in between, end result, it took them just as long to unload "without me being in the way." All my wood furniture were damaged, chipped, doors not closing, trunk lid totally broken off... I left a review at Consumer Affairs with greater details for those who are interested. Summing up my experience, "unprofessional, horrific customer service and solution, disrespectful to one's items, irresponsible, not even the cheapest" Not only I will never recommend, I am writing a review to spare others.
