I signed up for RiseKarma after searching for a service to help me find Twitter followers. I clicked to purchase the service and each page on the way to checkout said "Twitter".
After I paid, I was asked to give my username, but soon thereafter received an email that such a username didn't exist.
It turns out I was signed up for the Instagram service, which I never expressed any interest in. My order was just switched from Twitter to Instagram out of the blue.
I emailed the company immediately to explain and asked for the service to be changed. Keep in mind this is no more than 30 minutes after placing my order, and no services had been used yet because they didn't even have my username.
I received a rather rude reply explaining that they don't give refunds and suggesting - almost as if to say "you're dumb" - that I should have read their refund policy. The thing is, I didn't want a refund; I wanted the service I signed up for.
(Side note: the refund policy online says they DO offer refunds on a "case by case" basis, and presumably someone who never even started using the service would qualify more than most people).
Their message said my order had been canceled but that they were keeping my money. I received a voucher for MOST but not all of what I paid and was told to figure everything out on my own. After that, they stopped replying to my messages and refused to help me transition my service.
Considering I was eager to be their customer, their response seems over the top and totally unhelpful. Why retalitate against paying customers who point out a problem with their checkout process by canceling their order without confirming and saying "you get whatever we tell you"?
Very bad service and I will not pay them any more.
