Listen, I've been on Quotev since August of 2014. It's a very supportive site, with people who are there for you when your friends in real life aren't. It's stopped many from thoughts of depression, cutting, suicide, and from what I have experienced, it's even stopped people from self-harming. You can express your creativity by making stories, polls, and quizzes of different sorts. It's a very fun site to be on.
If, of course, you're not on the dark side of it. I have to agree with a lot of other people - Quotev is filled with teenage girls writing stories with horrible grammar, most of them using themselves as the main characters so they can 'fall in love' with the other person. Then, soon enough, there is very detailed, horrendous, not well written sex all crammed into one chapter. It's very, very cringe worthy, and just as immature if you ask me.
And the majority of the users are teenage girls who claim to have 'the worst life ever' and they always talk about their insecurities. They're asking for attention, and sometimes that can get a bit annoying when they're blowing up your feed about how 'they're not worth it' and how 'they're so suicidal they're killing themselves tonight'. And what do you know? They're fine the next day. Happy, even.
I'm not saying that these feelings are true, but Quotev, in a short definition, is a site filled with horrible 'stories' written by attention-seeking teenage girls who claim that their lives are horrible when they haven't even seen the real world yet because they're sitting under a roof, with a family, and food on the table.
Also, Quotev has been updating very often lately. It's making lots of users deactivate until Quotev cleans up it's act. Quotev over the past six months or so has been updating what seems like every other week. They're trying to follow the way other popular social media websites look like, like Tumblr and Facebook. It's not very original anymore and there has been people protesting against it.
