I ordered some pants on 3-19, and received the product promptly. They did not fit, so I took them to my local Champion store in West Towne Mall (Madison, WI) to return them. The store looked awful, just a mess - dirty and disorganized, which was not a great start. The only employee said she was relatively new, and it took probably 15-20 min to complete a simple return with the paperwork. When she finished she simply handed the packing list back to me - no credit or refund slip. When I asked for the credit slip to show I returned the product, was told they don't do that anymore.? I said I can't leave with no proof that I actually returned the product. Now I have no product and no documentation of a return and credit due. So she wrote up a form - manually! - called a custom return form, and I asked her to sign her name and date it, which she did. I always check to be sure credits are issued, but felt this was going to be a problem.
Two and a half weeks later - no credit. I called the 800 cust serv number, and was told there is a way I can return this through the mail. Explained I only order from stores where I can return in person, to save on shipping and time. After round and round with the gentleman, who was nice enough, but clearly not trained to fix problems, was told that it take a few days for the credit to process and wanted me to wait. It has already been 2.5 weeks, that is much too long. Then I was put on hold while he called the billing department. After being on hold about 5 minutes, now he just disconnected me. Called back, had to go through the whole story again. Next guy gave me a different story, asked for a supervisor, which he didn't want to connect me. Spoke to supervisor who acknowledged their system was the issue. Still no refund, but she is escalating. Very bad way to do business, will never order from them again, or but their product in the store. There are plenty of options from providers who have much more efficient systems.
