Highly Defective Management and Business Practices
August 5, 2022

I very rarely, if ever write reviews, so I hope there is something useful in this as you research and decide on a fitness club. I have been in the gym environment for nearly 30 years and decided on a double lime membership with my domestic partner at YouFit at a Phoenix location, Bethany Home Rd., if that helps. Management, (and there has been many in just a short few years, is outrageously unprofessional, with a severe lack of mindfulness towards the gym, its equipment, members, etc. I made one, very simple inquiry regarding the numerous "Out of Service" machines and equipment, and was very harshly told it was to be looked at in a couple weeks and to be patient, (as Coulter G., the new manager, was just getting acclimated to his new post). The story and rebuttals are all the same, as with each and every previous manager at this particular location, I can't speak to the others. Some of these concerns are still lingering nearly 3 years later. I had simply asked for some follow-up and an update thereafter, that follow-up of course never happened. More than a month awaiting word, I show up for a workout, amidst another wave of Covid, and there are no cleaning supplies. See photo for reference. I inquired about it, and was met with a terse response that it was a "Supply Issue." At this point, I asked for his name, he wouldn't provide it, nor would he provide his superiors name or contact information. I had to acquire, from a front desk associate, the corporate email. This interaction was recorded and he clearly made an effort to defame and embarrass me in the presence of other employees and members, my tolerance ended there. I left without a workout and drove to three different gyms in the area, all fully stocked! I was speechless. It took multiple emails to corporate for correspondence to finally reach an appropriate party, (a Sr. Director for this territory, whom oversees this manager). It took these inbetween interactions for Coulter to acknowledge it was his error in ordering). In the end this individual advocated for his employee instead of two, faithfully paying members, (of more than three years at the time of this particular situation). There is so much more to the story, and relevant details that will eventually come to light. Of course there are always two sides to every coin, but further scenarios persist and for the sake of a review, your time, and your money, it is encouraged and better spent at another gym. There are plenty more options that give a much more integrity based experience and upholds advocating for their members, as opposed to cultivating and condoning terrible management, poor leadership, and overall ugly business practices that you're sure to experience at YouFit. Hope this helps and good luck in your search for a fitness club. Stay healthy!

YouFIT permanently closed locations and without consent impose customers to new far locations
September 17, 2020

Complaint Description: THIS COMPLAINT WAS FILED WITH BETTER BUSINES BUREAU
Joined Youfit H. Club Jan'20. COVID closed Youfit Mar'20 & permanently close my location. I tried to call and follow up that time no one available Its very disturbing, Youfit H.Club closed amid covid and also permanently closed my location in same period, when I attempted to follow up no one was available but when an agent called me 2 months ago, I told them since my location closed and the other location they were recommending would be too far for me to attend and he said this is perfectly fine. I asked why nobody returned calls when they closed but he said they were out of office. This week of 09/16/20 I get another call saying that I owe youfit for membership at he new location even if I had told someone I will not be part of this location and I have never attended gym. Again i told them am no longer with youfit and had let the previous agent know. This lady claimed I owe for they transfered my gym membership to another location without me consenting to that, i requested manager. I told manager Paul Robert that you cannot permanently closed my location and with COVID and without my consent transfer my account which should be closed to another location that I do not consent to. He said this has been Youfit policy for 20yrs, I owe for June and July the months since Gym reopened and unless I drive to the new location 60miles from where I now live and tell them I have cancelled my account, I am considered to be liable for a $27 payment each month. This manager would not even account for the time I have spoken with agent who advised it was okay if I could not be part of new location. He was just interesting in asking me I have to continuer to pay, I stated its unreasonable and not a good practice to force me to go to a gym at a location that is not covenient for me and with no customer service during covid they should consider correcting this errors. He said if i dont pay he will call me next year with an $800 like he finds with many customers. He just kept saying you continue to be held liable at this new location. Obviously youfit is currently in the business of seeking to regain lost profits due to closure even if at the expense of innapropriately transferring members to far locations that they had not signed up for, even when I told this man i now live 50miles away from their new location. They did not seek consent and say will continue to charge all customers. Please help me resolve this as Paul Roberts (manager) said i need to mail a payment of $74 that includes the last 3 months payments to FL address if i want to cancel my membership. I was like how is this even allowed to happen? Paul Robert said their policy has been the same since 2000 and it cannot be changed even though the gym itself has had all this changes this year.

Your Desired Resolution:
I would BBB to ask Youfit to revise the policy of charging customers with gym closure and automatically tranfer your account to a new far location without consent, that they cannot impose new changes to customers of closing the near location, then no communication on closure during covid, then all over sudden say, they reopened and you are now considered a member of another far location which you owe for. I consider them to have breached our agreement when they closed my near location that made me sign up for the gym. I also ask they revise their policy that manager said have been the same sincce 2000 because if you closed down the gym whether due to covid or other reasons, you also have to revise contract for customers to consent to new locations.

Your case will be reviewed by a complaint specialist at Better Business Bureau to ensure that the issues contained in your complaint are able to be handled by BBB and then forwarded to the business for their response. It is our policy to allow the business 30 working days to respond to your complaint. You will be notified when the business has responded.

YOUFIT DAYCARE INCIDENT
May 17, 2018

My husband and I have been going to YOUFIT HEALTH CLUB at 0201 Hammocks Blvd #130, Miami, FL******* for around 2 years now.
Yesterday, May 16,2018, as usual, my husband went in for his daily workout, I usually join him, but yesterday I could not make it, he went in with my four year old son. We always drop off my son at the Daycare your fit club provides, we pay for Additional Fee for this aside from our Membership.

This Daycare always has a constant change of personnelwhen it comes to the ladies that work in the daycare area. We have never had a problem aside from is NOT THE CLEANEST AREA TO LEAVE YOUR CHILD FOR A FEW HOURS AND THE CHILDREN THAT ARE BEING DROPPED OFF BY THE PARENTS GOING TO WORKOUT ALWAYS SEEM SICK, COUGHING AND HAVE MUCUS COMING OUT OF THEIR NOSES. I was wondering if the people working in the daycare area have any sort of CERTIFICATION or Training?

Up until now we have never had a problem. Lately, the new girls are pretty young but very nice and caring. One of the girls name is Nicole the other one is a blonde girl ALSO VERY NICE and SWEET to both parents and children. However YESTERDAY MAY 16TH 2018 around 830 or so at night when my husband was done for the night with his workout and went to pick up my four year old son from the YOUFIT DAYCRE my son had a long (2 inches or so) and deep scratch on his little wrist. As soon as my husband walked up to the daycare door to pick him up like we always do, my son walked up to my husband complaining about his wrist and showing him he has a deep bloody scratch WHICH I HAVE ATTACHED A PICTURE OF TO THIS MSG/EMAIL. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.
The girl was working there, NICOLE, told my husband that she took a break and the YOUFIT manager PAULA ZAMUDIO was covering for her, since my son was the last kid left in the YOUFIT DAYCARE. When my husband approached the manager PAULA ZAMURIO at the front desk, he observed that she was extremely nervous and kept apologizing, she explained to his that she was playing around with him and accidentally scratched him and kept nervously apologizing. After coming home I saw the scratch with my own eyes and it looked like much more than a simple scratch, it seemed too deep, I immediately phoned the gym at around 9 pm and was informed that PAULA ZAMUDIO had already left for the evening, so I left a message for her to call me the following day.

TODAY, the next day, MAY 17th 2018, noon I received the call from PAULA ZAMUDIO, she was very RUDE and very defensive, not apologetic at all. One would expect more from Manager of your establishment, supposedly someone who represents your brand and quality of your Health Clubs, this Manager PAULA ZAMUDIO told me that she reviewed the cameras and that as per HER point of view; "MY SON RAN UP TO HER NAILS AND HE SCRATCHED HIMSELF ON HER", these were her exact words.

To be very clear, I DO NOT ACCEPT THIS EXPLANATION AT ALL, I do not accept the way I am being treated by this Manager, I fear for the safety of every child left in your DAYCARE AREA. Someone in your Corporate Offices Must take action to prevent this from happening ever again.

I have contacted my lawyer and I will get to the bottom of what really happened to my son with this rude Manager PAULA ZAMUDIO. I reached out to the YOUFIT HEATLH CLUBS CORPORATE OFFICE and so will my lawyer.

I hope this email notification gets the attention it deserves.
