Whenever I required assistance with my partnership with Yodle, I had consistently exceptional encounters with their customer service team. In particular, there's a woman named Michele with whom I had the opportunity to address some concerns and requested changes. She not only displayed professionalism but also had a down-to-earth demeanor and a delightful personality, which made our conversation enjoyable. Her approach instilled confidence in me that they are indeed the ideal partner for my needs.
I have been with Yodle for about 4 years now. Over the past year & half there service. Knowledge, caring about your business has deteriorated greatly. They do not help your business grow or increase your seo or organic ratings. When you call & question them they become rude beat around your question. They say one thing & do not follow thru. They were bought out by web.com about 1 year ago no improvement. Look else where as I now have signed up with another.
The saleswoman was extremely rude and unprofessional with my staff. We get hundreds of calls a month from real clients and she was outright aggressive and combative with my legal assistant when she refused to handle the intake process including asking about the company she allegedly had a claim against (i. E for conflict purposes) - stop lying about what you are selling.
They have charged my small business over $900 a month to establish a website and to drive leads on google. When I had my now internet savvy children check out my small business google account as my business has been suffering it was barely populated, not complete, not linked to all of the other websites- yellow pages, uber, yelp, etc. Whenever I have complained with yodle their response is that I need to pay more and more money. Complete waste of money. Do not use.
This is not so much a complaint against Yodel but a complaint against their delivery drivers.
One particular driver is bad mannered, argumentative & lazy.
He refuses to deliver items to residents accomodation expecting to dump them at our concierge office.
Then he storms off when he's told he has to deliver it. I've complained to his manager but it's clear that they find it unimportant hence his continual unacceptable behaviour.
My boyfriend started a business and found Yodle and was promised all these things and that his business would be listed on the first page of Google if he has 3 good reviews. The website design was horrendous. We're still on page 4. He's complained several times about the company name that they messed up on. It's cost us more than we can afford. He's currently cancelling.
I just had the exact same experience. I paid almost $2k for 6 mos in advance. After that i never heard from anyone until May 5th where they charged my account $299. I called to tell them I didn't get anything from their service and wanted a refund and they said no refund for this months charge. That is BS. Not only poor product, poor representation, but they should sent a notice of upcoming charge. It like stealing money.
Hey Rose,
Very sorry that you had this experience - please contact us via private message and we'll attempt to resolve.
-Mike
They've been charging me forever... they never call me to check on me, never emailed me, never sent me a letter, just kept charging my card w/o my consent--and then they did nothing worthwhile for my business. When I tried to cancel, they made it hard on me to cancel too!
I have had nothing but issues with this company. Paid way too much money with no return. Upon completing a survey that I was not satisfied, I heard from not one single rep at the company. When I asked for a refund of payment after my contract ended at it was month to month, I was informed that they cannot provide ANY refunds. Read the fine print of our legal contract. Definitely not good business.
Hello Elizabeth,
We're very sorry that you didn't receive the results you had hoped for, and we'd be happy to look into your experience. Would you remind sending us a private message with your account identifier so we can investigate?
-Mike
First of all they tell you one thing on the call and another in the contract, which makes it hard to cancel service. I was told that I could cancel anytime with no additional charges, but now I'm told that the contract states that their is a cancellation fee,
The major issue that I discovered is that they want you to pay for service for at least 3 months (although they try to sell you on six months) before you see any results. WTF! Why not charge you when the results pour in?
I'll let my AMEX card deal with them. AMEX has always come through for me.
Hey Fred,
Sorry there was some sort of misunderstanding around the contract terms of the product you purchased, would you mind sending me some additional details about your account so that I can see what went wrong?
-Mike
They put hard sell on and don't delivery any leads! All sales and no substance! Literally delivered no help, no leads, zero sales! Hold you to 6 month contract. Signing up required on first phone call! After sales call, you are send to Caribbean tech staff that knows nothing and doesn't care! 0 rating if I could! DO Not ever use this company
Hi Andy - I'm sorry to hear you didn't find success with Yodle. I'm particularly disappointed to hear there was a disconnect between what was promised on the sales call and the service you received. If you are open to sharing more details, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at 646-768-3690. Best, GB.
I have been into remodeling business since 2007 and hosting my website with yodle since 3 years but I noticed that the price has been increased to $49/mth from $19/mth. Then one of my customer referred ADVANTON and its been 7 months now since I've been using them for my local marketing and online presence. The online presence is free and local marketing works which is also dead cheap compared to other provides.
I had a 6 month contract, way too expensive for very little return. I asked rep 1 week before 6 month contract end, what actual date was so I can move on to another company and not worry about paying them anymore. She verified date was next week, then billed me another month "because I didn't say the word CANCEL". Horrible customer service.
Hey Michele - please private message us about your experience and we'll try to help^MB
I signed up for a monthly plan with yolde as suggested by their marketing guy who called and convinced me with his sakes pitch. I ended up paying $900 in three months and no results and when i called for help i didnt get any response so i cancelled. However, they charged me for that month also. Out of my frustration i started looking for some solution and found Advanton which is all free and worked for me really well. Yodle must train their staff in delivery and not sales.
Hey James - we're sorry you didn't receive the results you expected, would you mind private messaging us your domain so we can investigate?^MB
False promises about a personal rep
Bad useless leads
No concern for me once they got my credit card
7 months $3500 = nothing
Now I am trying to repair all of the damage yodle has done
All of the online search engines point to the crappy site yodle created - yodle actually drives traffic away from its customer's sites and installs an 888 phone number so that when you leave yodle every search engine will lead nowhere - Probably pay yext another $500 to fix this
Scott,
Very sorry to hear that you had a poor experience with Yodle, especially regarding the feeling that we don't have concern for you. Definitely not what the feeling we're trying to get across.
If you're willing to share details of your experience, please feel free to contact me directly - I'll direct message you my contact info.
-Mike
Beware when I evenchley found a phone number And wasted 38 minutes and was charged over 9 pounds for the call to find out where my parcel was its a total joke what was being delivered only cost 5 pounds they dont tell you that the phone will cost 45p per minute they are total rip-off never turn up on time and came 4 days later do not use
I agreed to a 20 minute overview today that lasted for 1 hour and 28 minutes. Finally I said I had to go to the bathroom, and the woman still kept on talking so I hung up and she has called back 3 times since. The long and the short is that I said I would forgo todays $199 sign-on in order to do some research on my end and if I was still interested I would pay the full $499 as my penalty. Guess what? I cannot find ONE positive review. As a double whammy, all along I thought I was talking to Yelp. LOL
Hey Hazel,
Definitely sounds like a less than ideal experience. Would you mind private messaging us some more details (phone numbers you were called on) so we can look into it further?
-Mike
Yodle made promises that they would never keep! Unbeknownst to us they would not advertise the web site we had created, instead they advertised the one they created about our company - which they requested very little information on. The website was probably the worst made website in history. Words were misspelled, it looked terrible, a monkey could have made a better website. All of this was done AFTER the contract was signed and credit card charges. And none of that was made clear or explained prior to. Don't use this company, you're better off burning your money.
Hi, Helen - I read your review and I’m disappointed to hear you feel you were misled, that is never our intention. Our 50,000+ customers do have great success using advertsites to drive new traffic and conversion and while this was not your experience, we do take this kind of feedback very seriously. If you have a minute, I would like to hear more about your experience so I can help resolve these issues – could you reach out to me? Jessica.mcginn@yodle.com or 646-753-6362.
Been paying this company 199.00 every month now since august. I'm a realtor. I have so far received one lead that ended up costing me money. The web name they gave me was terrible and i told the guy that but he said that was all that was available and that it would work for google ect. Well apparently not. Also i was led to believe that they set up your page and put you on fb ect ect ect. Oh the promises she made! Well no, you have to do the work yourself which is very time consuming, then you have to bother your clients to write reviews. They never were able to get the right pictures onto my site either. They have drained my bank account of it's advertising dollars and i have received nothing for it. Hope this review helps some other person thinking about using them, check with the better business bureau and check their google reveiws. Those are the 'real' ones besides the not so good ones on here! Lol
Hi, Ashley: I work with Yodle's Corporate Communications team and I just read your review. I’m very disappointed to hear about any disconnect you felt there may have been between expectations we set during the sales process and the service you received. That is never our intention and while our services do require a commitment of time, there is no excuse for a lack of communication. As a company that caters to more than 50,000 small businesses - including a significant number of realtors - we have a very real interest in our customers success, you can see some of their stories online here: www.yodle.com/success-stories. If these issues have not been addressed and if you have any further information that you would like to share, please contact me directly at Jessica.mcginn@yodle.com or 646-753-6362. Thank you for your time.
Company makes promises that they won't keep. They take your money upfront, so you are stuck with it. Save your time and money, because they won't deliver any results.
Bob,
Can you private message me some details about your account so I can investigate? Would like to try and figure out what went wrong here.
-Mike
I gave them $3000. To clean up my online presence. They guaranteed my results in less than six weeks. Six months later nothing had changed. Over a year later we negotiated a 26% refund. I never received it. One excuse after another until they disappeared. In my opinion they belong in jail.
Steven,
I'd be happy to look into this for you - can you send me a DM with your account details and i'll investigate?
-Mike
After 5 months of 1250 per month I received ONE lead (Giving them the benefit of a doubt for one) Yodle is really good at stringing you on for more payments. Every time we called customer service they found something that should be changed to fix the problem. DON'T waste your money. There are legitimate companies out there that will yield results. Clay Blakemore finally called and made more empty promises.
Hi, Ted: I’m the PR manager here at Yodle, Jessica McGinn. Thank you for sharing your feedback. We truly take pride in delivering on our customer service and I’m very disappointed to hear you didn’t have a beneficial experience. If these issues have not been addressed and if you would be open to sharing additional details, please contact me at Jessica.mcginn@yodle.com or 646-753-6362. Thank you, JM.
I am a new small business owner and I need the help from a marketing company that can assist in getting me business. Yodle came along shortly after firing Home Advisor for falsifying what they do to me and I quickly got away from them.
I have been "using" Yodle now for 2.5 months and have received nothing from them. Unfortunately I was far too trusting and believed the BS that they fed regarding how quickly they could and would get me leads so I paid for 6 months of service upfront. This in itself is a ripoff and is quite a scam as the "monthly charge" is much different for every business owner as you can see by reading reviews.
I use another company that does not have any monthly fees and no agreement to get into and I have received all of my business leads through this company. I do pay for leads with this other company as this type of stuff is not free but I choose what jobs to bid on and what customers I would like to work with.
Stay away from Yodle, they do not do as they get you to believe!
Hi, Adam: This is Jessica McGinn in the corporate communications department at Yodle. I'm very sorry to read your review and to hear you felt there was any kind of disconnect between expectations we set during the sales process and the service you received. That is never our intention and I do want to assure you that Yodle is not a scam. We handle online marketing for 50,000+ local businesses nationwide and based on our research, local businesses would have to pay at least twice as much money and purchase multiple point solutions to get something similar to Marketing Essentials, our primary product. We appreciate you providing us this feedback and please know we take it very seriously and it will be passed along to the appropriate channels. If you have any further information you would like to share about your experience, please feel free to contact me directly at Jessica.mcginn@yodle.com or 646-753-6362. Thank you for your time.
Yodle is a total waste of my time and money. Their "services" did nothing but block my actual website and confuse my customers. They took credit for leads they I generated myself. They brought me absolutely no business. Worst of all, they continued to charge me $299/month after I asked to cancel. They will rob the small business owner blind! DO NOT FALL INTO THEIR TRAP!
Hi Lien - I'm sorry to hear you didn't find success with Yodle, this is never something we want for our customers. If you are still having trouble canceling, please reach out to me and I would be happy to help. You can contact me directly at 646-768-3690 or gina.balistreri@yodle.com. Thanks, GB.
I am starting a new business and they got me in a moment of vulnerability. I tried to cancel and they THEN told me that I owed them for the setup fee- another 400.00. They never told me about this. They've said they'll "review thier call" and get back to me. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! The website is atrocious from some third world outsourcing, they don't stay in touch and they're just after your money. JUST SAY NO
Catherine,
Sorry to hear that you had issues with cancelling your account, and that you were unhappy with the service. I'd be happy to follow up with you and ensure customer service has reached back out - I'll private message you my contact info.
-Mike
