Xero has a rating of 1.9 stars from 10 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Xero ranks 64th among Accounting Software sites.
I have been using Xero for a few years now.
Bank feeds keep disconnecting.
No customer service phone number. Messaging service can take hours to get a generic answer, then back and forth many times as you can't speak to someone to resolve quickly.
Paying a large number of invoices at the same time is very difficult. If you need to go to the next page or check an invoice you will lose all selected invoices.
Lacking basic accounting features such as adding interest to late payment. There is no automatic feature to calculate and you can't add to an approved invoice or one that has a payment attached without first removing all payments made, adding the manually calculated interest then reapplying all of the previous payments.
There are more issues, but, in short, this is an easy program to use for small businesses ONLY but lacking in basic accounting features and customer service.
So, here's the deal with Xero.com – total disappointment. I never even used their services, but somehow I ended up knee-deep in spam emails and scammy messages flooding my inbox. Can you believe it? Straight from their servers, no less!
It's like I accidentally stumbled into a den of online scammers and Xero just turned a blind eye. You'd think they'd have some sort of fortress-like security to keep this stuff out, but nah, it's like they left the front door wide open for troublemakers to stroll right in.
And here's the kicker – when I tried reaching out to their customer support, hoping for a lifeline to pull me out of this mess, what did I get? Zip. Nada. Zilch. It's like they were too busy counting their profits to bother with pesky little things like helping out their users.
So, take it from me, unless you're itching to play detective and sift through a mountain of junk in your inbox, steer clear of Xero.com. There are plenty of other fish in the sea when it comes to financial management platforms, ones that actually give a darn about their users' safety and satisfaction.
Hi everyone
I would like to review about the Xero reports which is going to be hard and terrible from 1august 2023.
The changes which have been made for Xero reports are very terrible.
Aged payables & receivables, Trial balance, profit and loss, contacts etc are terrible.
We want the old version back. Now Xero is going to be hard for everyone.
Why?
When the Xero is easy to use, then why we are making these software terrible.
Please bring the old version reports of Xero
I request please.
The new version is actually terrible
Please! Please! Please!
Bring back the old version of Xero
Thank you
Unless your bank has a direct feed with Xero, you will be dependent on Xero's partner Yodlee for your bank feed. The bank feed function is unstable and not reliable. You will need to refresh the bank feed many times throughout the month and then you will be subject to many instances of gaps in data, duplicate bank records and worst of the all phantom transactions. If bank feeds are high on your must have list for accounting software, then steer clear of Xero...
We struggle every week to manually update our bank transactions. Most of the time the updating process does not work. Very infrequently does Yodlee update from the bank transactions, but it's because we have to manually step through the process.
When we first starting using Xero two years ago, Yodlee worked fine. What happened?
Terrible.
Xero has gone backwards the last 3 years and would strongly recommend not using it.
1) Xero and the issues with the API integration with Yodlee. Often bank reconciling credits are show as debits. This has been going on for 3 years. I have mentioned it numerous times. It never gets fixed. Their solution. Just delete and add manually. I have had to do this so many times enough is enough. 3 years. Terrible! And, many many other issues not get addressed or resolved. See their forums and people in the forums that are disillusioned and leaving in droves.
2) WARNING: Canceling Subscriptions. They force you to pay the next 30 days of the subscription when you cancel. Meaning they force you to pay an additional month subscription for no reason other than squeezing as much out as you as possible. They even forced this during the Pandemic. Incredible!
3) RECOMMENDATION: Waveapp is free or the far superior but without reporting.
Intuit QuickBooks has better reporting and much better invoicing with multiple templates.
Depending on your needs one of the two above will match your requirements far better then Xero.
I liked the clean design and ton of functionality. Glad we switched from desktop accounting software to Xero cloud. Wish app center could improve and offer more solution.
I have been using Xero with Payroll for $30 for 2.5 years. I cancelled
Quickbooks in lieu, since I have is a S-corp with me and my partner only on payroll. Xero is nice and easy to use.
2 months ago (summer 2018) Xero announced to stop payroll in 2019, you have to switch to a different company which charges $40 just for payroll alone. I guess they are getting kickbacks from them.
In addition Xero is also increasing their monthly fees. So at the end you pay almost 3 times as much for less integration and service. Very disappointing and very bad business practice. I would not subscribe again since this company is not interested in a easy and reliable pricing and workflow. Very very disappointed. Better watch out for a legit company.
I have all my data up in the cloud. My system is running in real time. We have payroll working & the correct tax is taken out & all sinking with a 401 K. Love it!
