“Wyndham Runs Rat Traps, Doesn't Care”

I stayed at the Wyndham Hotel in Henrietta, NY in July. The whole place was disgusting but we'd been driving forever and didn't have any other place to go. It was the Microtel there, and the first room they assigned us was horrific. By the way, the fire door handle was taped on and came off in my hands on the way in. Thanks, Wyndham! That shows you really care! Furniture and molding had been ripped off the walls and the room stunk. The next room was only marginally better, a non-smoking with cigarette burns on every surface, disgusting upholstery on the desk chair, marginally cleaner without odor. Halls smelled like marijuana, and apparently the hotel had housed homeless. It showed. The clerk said it was his first day on the job and of the 4 people he had checked in, 3 had come back to complain and/or leave. But this isn't the worst part. I contacted Wyndham and they refused to deal with it. No one there would take any responsibility for their own disgusting hotel, and the response I got was, "you booked through Expedia (cheaper rate) so therefore we will do nothing for you." Nothing. I even wrote to the president of the company and asked if he and his family would be willing to stay in this totally disgusting hotel and of course got no reply. I understand that they can't know the condition of every property, but when the reviews are all horrendous and they have one of their customers begging for help, I'm shocked that they absolved themselves of ALL responsibility and would not do one thing. Read the reviews on Expedia. This company is shameless in their quest for profit and this hotel should be condemned. Shame on you, Wyndham! You're not getting my business any more! I booked using a reputable name and was sorely disappointed.

The hotel is fine. Just be aware that unless you can figure out the local bus to the Ramada and deal with the location where they stop, you will have to use a local taxi. They do not have a shuttle to the airport. The taxi cost 15 pounds each way for my husband and I, plus tip. Added considerably to the cost of the motel, so factor this in. Like many UK motels, breakfast is not included but there are options close by.

Last weekend we stayed 3 nights at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Pittsburg.

Our greeting, after a long drive was by Valet Parking Attendants who didn't want us to check in without paying for their services. There were no other places to unload. They let us know clearly that they wanted to ticket us if we were not out within 5 to 10 minutes.

Twice during my stay I talked to 'Hotel Supervisors' who were apologetic, but something was not quite right. I wanted to talk to the hotel manager, who never got back to me, by phone, by email.

Due to a snowstorm on our route back, we decided to stay an extra day. We switched to an IHG hotel, because Dustin, as manager, never tried to get back to us, never got back to us, and obviously sets the example for this hotel.

You can see this in many other areas of this decaying hotel.

I wondering whether this is just a 'bad apple' manager, or if this is the new face of Wyndham.
