I sent my ring to them 1 week after having it appraised. The appraisal came in at $5100, and although I know appraisal are for insurance purposes for the cost to replace the ring, and I also know that resale value is lower, but they offered the starting bid to be $358. This is a rose gold triple banded ring with over 14 small diamonds and a 1.1 caret center diamond. I requested my ring be returned. They said it would be 7-10 business days. It is now 12 business days and it has not even left their warehouse. I've called multiple days in a row and they keep making excuses. I fear I'll never get it back.
1st time selling was great, next 2 times, CRAP. I know for a fact how much my items are worth and the amount they wanted to give me was a insult! I will never use this company again. Go to your local jeweler to receive a better price and always get your valuables appraised local!

Our Lab and Gemology Teams work to evaluate hundreds of pieces of jewelry every week, taking great care to provide sellers such as yourself what would be considered a "base line" fair market amount to start at. Essentially, the evaluation they give is based on what the current resale market is for that particular type of jewelry with the professional buyers we work with. It's never meant to be a slight or insult to the seller, but is an expert opinion based on how we think that particular piece of jewelry would do in our Auction Format.

Worst experience ever. Been selling jewelry for 20 years on eBay. They took my jewelry. Lack of communication took several weeks to even get an auction going. There were platform software issues so I couldn't change reserve prices. I tried on their mobile app I tried on my computer. I tried several different browsers. I called their tech-support they seem to care less. Their fees are super high. They claimed it was a 10 day process. It took over three months. Then they lost two of my pieces for over a month, it took them to return it to me and I live two states away. Pretty much felt like it was a scam. Two of my high price items I was offered pennies on the value. Their professionalism lacked their customer service lacked their communication lacked their software platform, lacked the prices. They offered lacked long story. Short sellers beware and stay away!

This was by far the easiest auction process I have ever been a part of. Rachel was fantastic to work with and she kept me in the loop every step of the way. While I wish I could have gotten more money for the wedding set, I still got more than their recommended amount.
I worked for several years in the high end jewelry business and I know the retail markup is huge! So my suggestion to anyone selling jewelry to remember that you're not going to get anywhere near retail value. If you keep your expectations under control, you will have a great experience and may even get more than you expected.

Answer: Yes, Worthy photographs your item and gets it appraised. Worthy will suggest a reserve price. You can set your own, though, like I did. Had my ring not reached the reserve, I would have had the option of accepting the sale or having my ring returned. I set my reserve price 5% over what they suggested and I received double what I set as my reserve. Something to note is since my ring had a flurry of attention on the last day, Worthy extended my auction time enabling me to receive more bids. My ring sold last night and I had an email this morning saying my deposit was made to my account. I will use them again and recommend them to my family.

Answer: I was offered a quick sale and it was less than what I had anticipated my minimum bid price would be. I was told my check was sent out. Hoping to receive the check any day now, All in all, the process was not everything I had hoped for... I received one phone call on a sunday with the quick sale offer and some basic info on the appraisal. If you created an on-line account and communicated via email then you at least have some paper trial of what has happened. I went in person and delivered a ring so all communication was via phone once I left the building.
