Executive summary: I ordered a pricey item from this vendor. It took 5 months to arrive. It was damaged and he clearly sent it to me in that damaged condition. The vendor refuses to take any responsibility for the damaged goods that he sent out. And it turns out that he engages in other, dishonest business practices.
The details:
I ordered an extremely pricey and what should have been a very attractive wood instrument stand from this vendor. This is what the stand should look like (except mine was African blackwood): https://woodwinddesign.nl/product/flute-stand-2/.
I placed the order on December 29,2019. It did not arrive until May 27,2020. The website said nothing to indicate that the item was not in stock and that it would not be available until mid-March. Nor did it say anything about using some shipping method that would take 2 1/2 months. In that timeframe, I ordered items from other European vendors that showed up on my doorstep inside of 2 weeks.
When the stand finally did arrive, it was damaged. The wood was gouged.
I contacted the vendor multiple times about receiving a damaged article. I supplied photographs that shows the gouge in the finished wood (see photos). I reported to him that I could easily feel the gouge by running my finger across it. And I reported how obvious the damage is to me and to everyone else who has seen the stand. Despite all this evidence, the vendor intransigently insisted that nothing is wrong with it!
This vendor has showed himself wholly unwilling or incapable of admitting that he might have sent me a damaged article. He denies seeing anything wrong in the photographs that I've sent him. He acts as though I'm lying in reporting that I can feel the gouge. That is an extraordinary and extraordinarily offensive way to treat customers.
Of course, I am not the only one who is struck by the intrusive gouge. Everyone to whom I've showed it can't believe that this vendor actually sent this stand out.
This is not the only evidence of this vendor's dishonesty. If you go to his website (see link above), you may find it difficult to find any unfavorable reviews. That is because he blocks or takes them down, as he did mine.
Beware.
