The website looks LEGIT once you're there. Has ALL the indications that they're well established and professional. What lured me in to do business with them was that they provide shipping labels to send your watch out for repairs. So, thinking "WOW" they make it convenient I went ahead and printed out my complimentary shipping label. Keep in mind that this is provided ONLY after registering your watch with them.i.e. Filling out a form indicating the services you require. FF I get email confirming that they received my watch and will get back ASAP i.e. 5-6 days from receipt with an estimate. BOY OH BOY DID I GET AN ESTIMATE! I LAUGHED OUT LOUD while reading their estimate! The watch I submitted was an automatic Movado retailed for about $1000-1200 back when I purchased it. They calculated a $500.00 price to perform "open wristwatch surgery" on my watch that ONLY needed the 12 o'clock silver DOT glued back in it's position! Here's the KICKER...at the bottom of the estimate you get the option to AGREE OR DECLINE their services! It gets BETTER! If you AGREE / DECLINE TO THE ASTRONOMICAL AMOUNT for repairs they charge you an additional $50.00 to send your watch back.
This practice I found amusing in that if you're watch is NOT worth $5k-$10K or MORE they give you another option to DONATE IT TO THEM FOR PARTS i.e. KEEP IT? SLICK BUSINESS PRACTICE TO CONFISCATE MERCHANDISE if CUSTOMERS DON'T WANT TO PAY $56.00 TO GET THEIR WATCH RETURNED IF THEY DECLINE THE REPAIR SERVICES.
I'VE NEVER SEEN A BUSINESS LIKE THIS BEFORE! I HAVE TO SAY IT'S A PRETTY WELL ORGANIZED WATCH REPAIR RACKET.
BEWARE PEOPLE THAT NEED WATCH REPAIRS...SKIP THIS WEBSITE AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE UNLESS YOUR WATCH IS WORTH OVER $10K.
What services and costs for those particular services upfront NOT after they have my watch and can now extort money from me to get it back.
Not sure haven't received my watch back from company.
I should have done a better job investigating WATCH REPAIR USA, both thru their website and the website of the SCHAUMBURG Il BBB website, before I undertook sending them my $10K, 18K ***** watch for repair. Reading the "first hand" reviews of dissatisfied customers should have given me fair warning of the reputation of this business.
As WATCH REPAIR USA agreed to pay shipping "to them" for a watch repair, I packaged my watch and dropped it off at UPS. It was received and a receipt notification was promptly forwarded to my inbox. It stated that a quote for the cost of repairs would be forwarded within days. This was done. $1000.
The quote for repair seemed way more than I expected and I questioned the amount. They immediately discounted the repair cost by $150. An indication the quote was overpriced or this is their way of "closing the deal." Additionally, when questioned about additional "non requested" repair service attached to the estimate, they further reduced the quote. The charge for other repair service seemed to be "pricey" since it should have been included in the original base price.
I refused the repair and requested my watch be returned.
Return shipping for the 10K watch by UPS/USPS is pricey. The watch was returned within a week.
Shortly after receiving the watch, I took it to a reputable local watch maker with whom I have had business before. Upon examination of the watch, in front of me, he opened the watch and quickly observed there was visible damage. It can only be surmised that the damage was done while in the hands of WATCH REPAIR USA.
Contacting WRUsa, and explaining the damage, they suggested that I return the watch at their expense for examination. Upon questioning the cost of the return charges, I was informed that "would be on me"
Careful consideration of their direction for return, I decided that their response would probably be "We didn't do it." PASS.
My poor review of Nov. 21,2020 about my watch Repair #*******, -received a response from Tom O., at Watch Repair USA. They sent me a postage paid label for my watch to be returned under their warranty repair order #*******. They also assured me, that it wouldn't cost me anything to get my watch back. That seemed to good to be true. Should I, or should I not, was the big question. It appeared I had nothing to lose, so I sent it back. Frankly, I was so disgusted with the whole matter, that I didn't give a crap if I ever saw that watch again! I then received an email that it was received on Dec. 2nd., and that it would be repaired in a timely manner. What's this? Communication? Seemed like I was dealing with a whole new company.
OK. Today after a few weeks, I received the watch back via UPS. While opening the package, I wondered if they had set the correct time and if the watch was actually keeping it. Much to my surprise, the time was not only right, but the watch as a whole sparkled like new. I must say, I was quite impressed. OK. So maybe I'll have to eat some crow for my original lousy review. We'll see?
But I'd like to add, that during the time they had my watch, I started doing some research on what it takes these days to repair a watch. Most modern watches today are those called quartz. Not as big a deal as the old mechanical one's with a mired of moving parts. So why should it cost over a hundred dollars or more to repair a quartz with few moving parts. Take today's modern TV sets. If you take it in for repair, they no longer bench solder like days of old. Rather, they immediately know what circuit board is the problem, order a new one and plug it it. Bingo! Fifty or more bucks just to bring the set in and an extra hundred plus to get it back. Time spent, is mostly waiting for the part. Worse, is when they find the part is no longer available to fix the set. You get it back broken, less the cost of bringing it in. Welcome to today's world! So what's the answer? Go to your local jeweler, ask if they have any broken ROLEX watches to be thrown away. Give them ten bucks for it and then wear it with your best suit and you'll look and feel like a billionaire. As for telling time, forget it, it's payback!
Hmmm… Now, do you think my watch will be given another years warranty?
I shouldn't waste my time writing a review; However, I feel compelled because I don't want people have the same experience as I had with them; First of all, please don't be trick with a bunch of "good" reviews that they have in their website; Most likely they are all fake;
I have sent them around July/2109, a Gruen wristwatch that I've bought around a couple of months prior; Since their website has a bunch of services as a menu (with all descriptions detailed), I basically picked up two (Overhaul and Restoration - restoration exclusively for the bezel); Here's where the nightmare started: They sent me a price quotation (which it was paid right away); The price was basically the same as the timepiece value (they did asked me to sent how much is the cost of the watch); Months after (without hear anything back from them) they asked for an additional (since I requested to replace the crown); So, an additional was paid for the crown; Months after... I received the watch back (for the first time) around February/2020. The watch is a simple mechanic hand-wind watch (no date - no complication); judging by their website and for all expertise that they claim to have, I don't really understand why it took so long; Result of the first round: the watch came unpolished, the bezel came untouched, those are items included in the description and it was paid for; To be frankly, it looks like the watch came be in the exactly same way that I sent them; That being said, I sent them back the watch with clear instructions (to polish the case and work on the bezel); for my surprise, I've got another link for payment (an extra $99 If I recall); please be aware that free shipment is a BS; the shipment that they claim is free is included in the price (and if something happens that you need to send back your watch, they will charge for something else to cover the shipment for sure); Anyways, for this second time, the watch was held for more months (in the midst of the pandemic, hell yeah you can expect an even worse service); I've got my watch back in Aug/2020 If I recall; Even worse that it was before; The person painted the bezel with some sort of nail polish (so bad); it ruined,,, to finalized with their special touch, the watch was losing about 5 minutes a day! What kind of watch repair is this? The timepiece was sent back to them for the 3rd time (Gezzz...); just to regulate and make sure is accurate (not sure they know what is that); After all, I sent to a real watchmaker who is currently repair / restoring the watch (undoing all the bad things this company did prior); The pictures below shows the bad service on the bezel (the one that has the leather strap, the bezel was made by them with some bad nail polish).
This is copied and pasted from my Yelp review...
UPDATE(8/1/20):
This company deserves zero stars and I can't believe they are still in business. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
This is a long review but want people to be aware of the ordeal that I endured so you can spare yourself the headache. I usually vet companies before doing business with them but given that I had tried a few places prior to Watch Repairs USA, and with no luck at a repair, I was relieved at finding someone who could repair my watch. However, it ended up being a huge headache and took months to get my watch returned. Lesson learned, ALWAYS read the reviews.
To others who are in California, a friend of mine is a prosecutor in the CA AG's office and since they are doing business in California, she said a case could be brought against them in CA, especially if it's a high value item. So if you are in CA, private message me via yelp and I can pass along as I am pursuing them until I get a full refund.
TLDR: After stating they could repair my watch, they informed me 8 MONTHS LATER that they could not perform the repair even though I paid $350 in January. They had my watch for 9 months and they returned only after pursuing legal action. They have yet to refund my credit card and they charged $70 to return my watch to me.
Please see below for the detailed communication with them in trying to obtain the return of my watch.

2/18 and 2/21: Contacted them for updates and received no response.
3/17: Reached out again and demanded the watch back and a refund.
3/18: Received an email that it would be an ADDITIONAL 4-8 weeks with a promised delivery date of 3/24.
3/24: Contacted them as no watch or status update on their website.
3/26: Past the promised delivery date and again asked for the watch to be returned to me. They responded that their offices were closed due to Covid.(Still doesn't explain why nothing was done from December to 3/24)
3/26: I sent the following email in response to their excuses:
What is the repair status of the watch? Has anything been done between 1/28 and 3/21 before the order(closing of non-essential businesses)went into effect? If not, why? Additionally, when the lockdown order is lifted how much longer will it take and what are the steps? Since I've already paid for the repair, I need you to provide a detailed update/explanation. You have had a $3,000 watch in your possession for 4 months and I'm beyond concerned with your lack of communication and timeliness.
4/3: Received a response but it does not address any of the questions above(response below):
I will work to get you an update as soon as I can. Illinois, like California, New York, Michigan and maybe others is currently on mandatory non-essential business lockdown meaning that our office is currently closed and our staff is only working remotely until the lockdown is lifted.
Once this lockdown is lifted the team will be back to work in the office and I can get you a better update and get your repaired watch back to you.
Our building is a very safe building and all watches are locked in safe areas that cannot be accessed by anyone but our employees.
I am sorry I don't have more information at this time.
Randy
7/8: Reached out again for an update(no response)
Hi Randy -
I understand Phase 3 allowed for businesses to begin operating on 5/29, given that you are able to operate, can you please provide the status of my watch repair?
7/14: Reached out again for an update(you guessed it - no response)
Following up from the unanswered email from 7/8. Please provide an update ASAP.
7/21: Reached out again for an update
This is my third attempt in obtaining a reply regarding the status of my watch repair. You've had my watch since last year and have not replied to any of my last three inquiries. In effect, my watch has been stolen and if I do not hear from you today, I will be filing a report with the prosecutors offices in both Illinois and California and will pursue charges in order to obtain my watch back.
7/23: Received an email stating my watch would be repaired the following week
7/27: Received the following email
We have issued a refund for $279.97 to your credit card. Please allow 4-5 business days for this to show up on your credit card statement.
Refund Notes
We regret that the repair was not successful. This can be due to a number of reasons, most frequently to excessive damage, or an unavailable part. Your watch will ship back to you shortly.
Sincerely,
Watch Repairs USA Billing Department

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I sent my Michele watch to Watch Repairs USA in December. I received, approved and paid in full the estimate amount of $350 on 1/28/20 and was notified via email that it would take approximately 4 weeks for repair. As the 4 weeks approached, I continued to check the status of the repair with my case # online via their website. No updates around the 4 week mark so I emailed them regarding the status on 2/18(no reply), 2/21(no reply) and 3/17. I only received a reply back to my 3/17 email when I requested my watch be returned and my payment refunded. In their response back, they indicated that the repair would take 4-8 weeks, despite the fact that I have in writing a 4 week estimate. Their terms of service agreement does state that they do not guarantee repair time but what separates them from other vendors that use similiar boiler plate language is that most vendors do not abuse this policy. I can understand that delays that are out of their control can happen(part availability, etc.) but I still haven't been provided an explanation as to why they are so grossly over the promised deadline. An excellent company would proactively communicate when they're missing a deadline, a good company would at least respond to my 2 email inquires, and an inferior company would behave in the manner of Watch Repairs USA. Sadly, I did not read their reviews prior to sending my watch and wish I had, as excessive repair times and poor customer service seem to be standard for this company. Buyer beware.
