Started good. Site owner ruined it.
September 14, 2020

I was a regular of JTV. When that ended a lot of people went to VaughnLive. It seemed legit enough, I think the owner Mark coded a bot for JTV so I thought it was a legitimate website.

From the start it was a lot of good casters. It was a genuine community. The admins seemed to cut the drama when it went too far. It was a lot of familiar faces and politics wasn't a big part of it.

A lot of people on this website seemed to abuse alcohol on cam. Over time this seemed to be a large portion of the live streams. This seemed strange because the site also had a strict no weed policy. Casters would gets bans or warnings for smoking weed while the next channel you'd be watching a drunk person roll around in their own pee on a kitchen floor and several channels with people passing out.

Mark Vaughn the the site owner hired his mom to co-run or some sort of position within the site. I'm sure she had an official title but it was never obvious what her role was. Instead of the regular hands off approach this lady became heavily obsessed and personally involved with the drama going on in streams and chats and from what I can tell, real people's lives. As Mark and his mom became more and more intertwined with people, more and more of the community splintered.

I miss the good days of this site. It was a good place because of the people.

People who teach economics courses should put VaughnLive in case studies as what you should not do when running a streaming service. Instead of focusing on community and user experience, the site administrator used the website as his personal Friendship Maker, and then invited his mother who would jump on people's streams starting arguments with seemingly random people in the chat, completely hijacking the streamer. Vaughn and his mom would constantly linger around the top channels. Not much transpired without them either taking credit or making it worse.

There was a very healthy Vaper community on VaughnLive. Mark Vaughn drove every single one of them away. Every one! From a page of channels to not a single person. I tried to get the story on this but there was no one to ask. The answers I did get boiled down to "Mark Vaughn". I do not vape but I'd often stop in because they were super friendly and there was no drama. So that was doomed to fail I suppose, in retrospect.

2016 happened and then the politics started. Probably when the people started leaving the most. Mark Vaughn is a conservative, which of itself is not an issue. Many conservatives run very successful businesses. Often by focusing on the business. Not so with Mark Vaughn. The owner of VaughnLive would belittle his customers for their political beliefs. He allows a lot of hatred and so the site attracts a lot of loose cannons and people out of touch with reality. These people aren't going to pay his bills, but that's his business model.

Now when I visit I see he's basically begging for money on his website. The site is buggy and slow. Once the stream gets started it's not bad but often the ads would freeze the page and require a lot of refreshing.

VaughnLive attracted a lot of good people. Vaughn thought it was his great website that was attracting people when the truth is he got a lot of overspill from the JTV closing. His job was to retain and grow the numbers. He did the opposite.

I have no idea what the business model of this website is supposed to be.

Before posting this I had a look at the positive reviewers. Apparently they think these bad reviews are a Liberal conspiracy? Well the website is there and you're free to click it.

SCAM SITE - credit card info not secure/unprofessional site owners
October 4, 2017

I signed up for one of their VIP packages after being a regular member for a few months. I signed up with a pre-paid debit card that I only load with a bit of money to make online purchases with. First off it took the administrators over 2 days to activate the VIP package after I paid for it. The site owner Mark was extremely rude, after I sent in 4 friendly queries simply asking when my VIP portion of my account would be working I got the reply: "I'm busy and run 5 other websites. We'll get to it when we get to it. You need to be patient." Well I think waiting over 2 days is a little ridiculous. It was finally activated and everything seemed okay. About a week later I logged in to see how much money I had on my pre-paid card and found out there were numerous un-authorized purchases made with the card. I was missing about $45 from 3 un-authorized transactions, all from VaughnLive totaling $15 each. They billed me 3 times illegally. I cancelled my card immediately and informed my CC company that I was scammed. They told me to contact the site owners to see if they would give me a refund as it was possible there was a billing error. I sent in a request, this time the site owner's mother Lynn contacted me back, saying they have a no refund policy and if I didn't call my CC company to tell them their charges weren't fraud that she was going to have me arrested for credit card fraud. I told her go ahead, they were the ones that scammed me. My account was immediately de-activated and my ip address was banned from their website. I am still in the process of getting my money back from greendot, I strongly suggest no one use this site in any way and definitely DO NOT give them any credit card or banking information of any kind. After I filed the complaint with greendot to get my money back, Mark or his mother had one of their users gamergirl go to all the chatrooms posting my street address, encouraging people to send pizzas and taxis to my house to harass me. I have numerous screenshots to prove this and will upload them or email them to sitejabber if possible. I want everyone to see what they're doing to people. They can not be trusted and they are extremely unprofessional. The site is ran by an autistic man-child by the name of Mark Vaughn, and his creepy mother Patricia Lynn Vaughn. I later found out they've been scamming people with their website for years, even selling credit card and personal information of their users to hackers and people on "carding" sites. Steer clear of these losers. They need to be criminally charged, what they're doing is highly illegal.

Tip for consumers:

Do not use the site in any way, do not give them any personal information because the site owner will give it out freely. Nothing is secure on their website. Their site has also been hacked numerous times and had their databases downloaded.

You couldn't be treated more badly on any other website
March 18, 2015

Take into account that this is supposed to be an adult rated streaming website, adult rated up to a point to this particular staff member say's it is not a site for adults. I had been accused of streaming porn onto the site by a Miss Scruffy. I have never streamed anything at all on the site. I done a test stream with adobes streaming app as I was thinking about taking up streaming on the site. This all started though with the username I was using, the username I was using "ben_the_bastard" now it's no one else's business in calling myself a bastard, certainly wasn't offending to anyone. It beggars believe that given it is supposed to be an adult streaming website I had my account on the site closed over the username I was using, all for doing the community within this site a favour by reporting inappropriate content for review. To even be treated and accused off in such a manner as this and not even have broken any TOS or offended any other users of this site is an insult in itself. I have been left baffled as to who is really running the site. Mark Vaughn or this Miss Scruffy but even when I had specifically requested in exchange of emails between myself and Miss Scruffy to talk personally to Mark Vaughn, it seems any and all emails you send, Miss Scruffy get's hold of all emails before Mark Vaughn gets to see them, if he gets to see any of it at all. From my experience, I don't think Mark Vaughn gets to see the light of day of any emails that does get sent forward by anybody.

Followed up,

Then there is that VIP thing, to put it bluntly it is being forced onto people, particularly guest users, to sign up and spend money on the site to prevent yourself from viewing live video without adds and even when your not signed in and viewing as a guest, even with add blocker installed on your browser, there are custom adds put onto the flash video player so either way, your seeing an add of some sort. But why even bother signing up to contribute any sort of money to this site in viewing it add free, when the so called director of the site doesn't take heed and take you seriously enough in protesting your innocence of issues of accusations that is being thrown out by this director of this site. To then ban and close accounts at her own will as she see's fit. It would be money wasted, leaving you feeling like a right idiot in showing support for this site in which at the end of the day, goes very much unappreciated..
