Well...I actually have a problem with 3rd party delivery businesses "post-covid" for MANY REASONS.
This one is NO DIFFERENT.
Why oh, WHY would someone with a business "PAY a PERCENTAGE" to a 3rd party delivery system to sell their own resources to customers when the customers are already paying exhorbitant fees TO these "online ordering delivery businesses" that WOULD NOT EXIST if people had realized "post-covid businesses" like this were designed to control people & commerce?
Along comes the Doordash/GrubHub/Uber COSTLY business SCAMS designed to further drain honest small businesses of profits & business funds they no longer have.
A business exists to STAY IN BUSINESS & make a profit.
A business CANNOT operate successfully AT A LOSS.
These so-called "delivery businesses" also are overly expensive to customers.
These "delivery businesses" merely leech off everyone with no ambition to work OR are afraid to venture out.
Nothing has changed in the 3 years these businesses forced themselves to the forefront of commerce.
It's costly. Far too expensive with fees & programs.
It's unreliable. Often times, I hear that drivers fail to pick up items & customers "reject the order"...& the ones who lose out are the businesses & the Uber/Doordash/GrubHub drivers (in that instance.
It's a hassle. They call REPEATEDLY
Week-after-week even when businesses state to NOT CALL BACK.
"Reviews" are posted AGAINST businesses that do not participate.
Well...this individual studied business ethics in companionship with business mgmt. & business administration; so I understand these things entirely; as seen from study, evidence & experience.
There you have it.
NOT RECCOMMENDED.
I drive an 18 wheeler across country and I'm an Uber eats one customer because getting an 18 wheeler into a food joint isn't a feasible option when your vehicle is this bulky and weighs as much as mine does that it breaks parking lot pavement.
I used Uber eats today and made 3 separate orders, I ordered a coffee from Starbucks, a salad for myself from Fresh-set 675 & Panda Express for my other half.
Every time I order I always leave a message for the delivery person in the app when I make each order with explicit instructions on my exact whereabouts and a phone number and ask that they call me when they arrive or get close to arriving so that they can locate me I do this each time I make an order.
The Starbucks order arrived first and made it just fine a woman delivered it and did call me and found me easily.
The orders for the two food places were delivered by one person and he didn't call the phone number I put in the instructions he instead called an old phone number by using the app number instead of reading the instructions I left him in the app order. I only knew he had he tried to deliver the food because I went to check his arrival time per the app and it said order was delivered and completed.
I then went into the travel center I was parked behind to ask if they had the food and was told that upon arriving he had come into the truck stop I was parked behind and asked for me inside and spoke with the manager who explained to him that it would likely be an order for a truck driver on the lot out back and then she offered to hold the food for me but he refused and took the food with him and left with it I also attempted to call him per his number in the Uber app but the call tried to go through Uber eats app and told me the call couldn't be put through and so no food.
I did contact Uber eats customer service by chat through the app because they do not have a phone number customers can call anymore and they refused to refund the money because and I quote I was at a business and because he tried to contact me although not at the number I gave him in the instructions so apparently the driver can keep your food and the tips and just leave with it and there is no refund and no repercussions for their not doing their due diligence while on the job and reading instructions left for them and then Uber eats keeps your money and so no refund for $100 worth of food. I've called my credit card company and will be disputing these charges for food I didn't receive and I will not be utilizing Uber eats anymore. Horrible delivery driver and no resolution for an issue that should not have ever occurred and could have easily been avoided by just reading the instructions the customer left for the delivery person or by leaving the food with the manager when he went into the establishment. $100 loss is enough for me.
The customer service chat seems to be automated responses even though it is an actual person they continually give the same responses and refuse to answer any questions. There is no legitimacy to the way this company reponds to a complaint even when there is proof offered of the issue that occurred.
