Been a customer for 25 years and the service is terrible. Rates went down but nothing guaranteed because Amex uses Expedia as a third party to book the reservations. You're better off going through the hotel directly. Never again will I use Amex travel.

Booked a trip through AMEX Travel to Bora Bora for the family. My travel agent was Robin Turner who couldn't have been nicer, more patient and more informative. She did a fantastic job from start to finish and I could not recommend her more highly.
Although Amex is a not-so-efficient travel website, I loved their customer service. I had booked a room by them while traveling to Orlando, but then considered canceling it listening to their reviews. They patiently approved my request and redeemed my payment too.

Well, I am a travel lover. I have booked so many plane tickets on this site that I can't count it so clearly. The thing is, I have learned some really useful information and tips on it and it did help me get a better travel. I love using AMEX Platinum Card travel. It's so easy. They assign you a travel agent, who learns and remembers your preferences, helps you find the best deal and is always there to help if something goes wrong. They have access to the best places, best rates and many extras. I love it! Cheryl W.
Whenever I travel I use my Amex card. I get extra points, extra insurance (collision on car rentals, etc.) and lots of help if I need to book things. Oh and I even use travelers checks sometimes.
