So all the effort and time I have put into creating the pages of this book are lost? No notice. No warning.
I am beyond frustrated and believe me - I will not support your new version with my interest, time or money.

Crappy company
March 18, 2016

I always thought their recipe books were WAY TOO expensive; however, one consolation was that I could easily find my recipes on their site--if I were grocery shopping and needed to check ingredients, for example. Well, not anymore! This is a ridiculous way to run a business. I never received word that they were closing down.

As others in the same situation, I am quite upset that taste book has deleted photos, recipes and books that I spent much time creating. I was not alerted that this change would be coming until it was too late... and that was because I tried to log in... nothing was sent to me.

I am still able to access my recipes on my phone app, but I can not export them and I don't know how long that will even be available. The fact that they are still there though gives me hope that they still exist and hope that taste book can reopen all recipes and book collections for a time (with notice) to allow me to transfer them to another service they recommend.

This was no a professional way to handle this and I hope they can rectify.

Burned by Tastebook
March 11, 2016

I am very upset re: Tastebook. Like many others, I uploaded my family recipes and pictures. I just found out that my file can no longer be accessed. I did not receive any notice. I went to the site in December and did not see any notice that my recipes and photos would be deleted. I am very upset. I thought that this was a legitimate company that would behave in an ethical fashion. Obviously, I was mistaken. Some of these recipes cannot be replaced and I am very upset.

Horrible Company!
March 8, 2016

I spent over 80 hrs entering cherished family recipes and learned on approximately February 14 that they had stopped their service on January 30 and my RECIPES were no longer available. I don't recall EVER getting a message to this effect. I have written three times but get nothing but form letters. I have even offered to pay a fee! Is there any recourse that anyone can think of?

WHERE ARE MY RECIPES?! I was just logged in two weeks ago, entering and updating my tastebook and there was NO NOTICE of the site shutting down. I can't even find a login to retrieve my recipes, and I had no backups for them because I always thought that it would be digital and therefore safe. This is such a betrayal. I hope that no one uses their worthless site. They're just trying to be a Pinterest knockoff at this point. It's absolutely awful what they have done to countless people who trusted that their family recipes would be safe.

Tastebook disappears
February 12, 2016

Why did Tastebook not send out an announcement to it's subscribers warning them that they were shutting down? I was away for a few weeks and today discover that all of my work adding cherished family recipes and photos have disappeared without the opportunity to retrieve them before Tastebook closed down. Does anyone know of any recourse?

I am so disappointed by my experience with Tastebook. I spent days upon days compiling my family's best recipes for a family cookbook. I typed 100 recipes, found and uploaded 100 photos then tried to order book - for which I would pay upwards of $50 each. Without warning to its customers, they are closing this portion of their business and I will now lose all of that hard work. I called to ask the date my work would disappear and was told I had until January 31,2016. I've tried to order cookbooks now and supplies are sold out. I have no options and have lost everything. I've spoken with two women in customer service who were extremely unsympathetic and downright rude. They were unhelpful, they were spiteful about the shutdown and refused to transfer me to a supervisor. I wish I could say Tastebook lost my business but they've closed down.

Tastebook has given me the worst customer service experience ever. I received a print order of a collection of recipes that had one recipe printed in the wrong category. I found that I had placed the recipe in the correct category, but their website put it in another. I asked for a reprint of four recipes - a grand total charge of $1.20 - to correct the problem. They refuse to do so, claiming that it is user error. I have proved to them, and provided screenshots, that their website caused the problem and still they will not credit my account. Their reps have been short and accusatory with me every step of the way.

I've had problems crop up with other companies. I've asked for corrections to be made and when it is clearly the company's error, they have immediately (and respectfully) solved the problem. I had Macy's tell me "we're not going to lose a customer over a $20 soup bowl"; I just had a loan company remove a $1700 interest charge without a single word of protest - but Tastebook refuses to credit a long-standing customer with $1.20 in recipe credits. Makes you wonder where their priorities lie. But I know where mine do - and I'm shopping around for a new recipe site.

Terrible customer service
February 18, 2015

Wish I had checked reviews before ordering. Website and representative clearly indicated production and shipping would take at least 10-14 days. I planned my ordering date around vacation days etc. then after 1 day of ordering I got a notice that my order is arriving the next day! I called and emailed to try to delay since no one would be home and there was a snowstorm. Customer service could care less. They said they couldn't change wording on website about delivery estimates. No apology, nothing.

Beware of uploading any personal information to their site. My wife compiled a beautiful recipe book with several personal photos and family stories. The product itself was great, but despite setting her privacy settings to private, her photos and stories were some of the first hits when google searching her name. We contacted the website, and they said "Set the privacy settings to private". We told them we had, and they ignored us. A month later, no changes. We've deleted all our recipes and are warning our family to avoid them. Don't trust them with anything you consider private or personal.

Do I have to give it one star? That's being generous. I ordered my first tastebook in 2011. It was BEAUTIFUL and had the most beautiful generic set of tabbed dividers with stock photos of food on them. They were gorgeous, and made the book everything that it is.

So here in 2014, I ordered a book for a relative. Come to find out, they got rid of the gorgeous tab dividers in 2012 because people complained that they couldn't customize them or put their book in the order they want. Well... what about the people that aren't pro cooks and are fine with "basic dividers"? Nothing. When you order a book now, you will only receive a printed page divider with no tab. Not only that, but you will only receive a divider for the "category" that you print with the book. So If you order a book with only main dishes and appetizers, you will only receive dividers for main dish and appetizers. You can NEVER update your book with desserts and a dessert divider UNLESS YOU ORDER AN ENTIRE NEW BOOK. THIS IS FREAKIN RIDICULOUS! Are you kidding? Think about it. Your cookbook takes a lot of wear. Pages get splatters, spills, food smeared on them, ripped, torn, curled, etc. They have absolutely no system where you can order replacement dividers. This is horrible. I wish someone from that Shark tv show would swoop in and fix this company. Absolutely horrible customer service when I called too.

I did not have any troubles creating my recipes with their software. However, there are a few annoying problems: there is no page number on the page; consequently the table of contents has no reference to page number; there is only one template available where only one picture is allowed per recipe; the cover page is superimposed by an ugly large white square for the book title. If they can fix these problems, I would be happy to create more cookbook from them.

I have been trying to get the two cookbooks that I have ordered for over a month. They have ignored every phone call and email I have written and made for weeks. They finally did send one of the two books I paid for - then they resent the second to the first person. Honeslty - Im not even angry that its taken so long to get processed, I just would really like someone to call me back like their voicemail suggests that they will. This all could have been resolved with a 2 minute phone conversation, but instead it has taken me 3 weeks and now I never want to use them again. If I could give a negative amount of stars I would.

Horrific customer service! If you have a problem with their site... it either takes WEEKS to get back to you or NEVER! They just don't care! I originally took photos of everything I cooked and when I tried to upload them... it didn't work. I contacted customer service and they just casually said "sorry... your photos did not have high enough pixels". I told them I followed their directions exactly and my camera met their specifications... they didn't care AT ALL and had no solution for me. I spent hours on this.

Their website is not user friendly. I made individual cookbooks for each family member. Each cookbook was personalized with photos for each person. When the person went back to update their cookbook the pictures were all from the very last cookbook even though the cookbook was saved under each individual. I was told this couldn't be done - impossible. This should a very simple. When I tell others about that can't believe it especially with today's knowledge. Their customer service was very rude and honestly very dumb. I am so discouraged after I put hours and hours into these projects. Very a different website - please.

Horrible customer service. Tried to call them with no reply. Emailed them and got an email back two days later that did very little to answer my questions. It's a great Idea, and I was going to order four books, but if they can't even answer a few simple questions by returning phone calls or emails, I will spend my money elsewhere. Great idea, but the customer service is nothing short of horrible.

I have ordered several copies of my cookbooks and had always received the cookbooks in time for giving these as gifts for special occassions; but recently, there seems to be a long delay and few reminders later that I receive the cookbooks. I have also noticed some typo errors in the books and feel that my queries submitted to their customer support take a long time to be addressed.

Their customer service is horrific! I am still waiting for an issue to be resolved ( one of many glitches in their system that has caused problems with my book) They don't resolve problems well and seem bothered by these requests.
