Customer Service Department
Target Corporation
Dear Target Customer Service,
I am writing to express my profound disappointment and
Frustration with the abysmal customer service I encountered at your store
Located at 1275 Caroline St NE, Atlanta, GA *******, on [02/14/2024]. My recent
Experience was nothing short of appalling and has left me questioning whether
Target truly values its customers.
The incident occurred when I attempted to return an item that
Failed to meet my expectations or function as advertised. Instead of receiving
The assistance and understanding I rightfully expected, I was met with rudeness
And disrespect from an employee who conspicuously lacked a name tag. This
Individual's discourteous behavior and dismissive attitude were deeply
Unsettling and completely unacceptable.
To exacerbate matters, when I attempted to escalate my concerns
To a manager or someone in a position of authority, I was informed that they
Were all on vacation. This feeble excuse for the absence of managerial
Oversight only served to compound my frustration and reinforce the perception
Of Target's indifference towards customer satisfaction.
Moreover, my attempts to address the issue with Human Resources
Were met with refusal, leaving me feeling ignored and marginalized. I cannot
Help but wonder if my treatment was influenced by discriminatory attitudes, as
I am of Middle Eastern descent and visibly Muslim. Such blatant disregard for
Customer concerns and refusal to engage in meaningful dialogue is inexcusable.
When I attempted to seek resolution by contacting your
Headquarters, I was met with further disappointment. The response I
Received—that an investigation would be conducted but no information would be
Shared with me—reflects a dismissive attitude towards customer feedback and
Fails to provide any reassurance of meaningful action being taken.
In light of this egregious treatment, I can no longer in good
Conscience continue to support Target as a customer. I will be taking my
Business elsewhere and will actively discourage friends, family, and
Acquaintances from patronizing your stores. I wholeheartedly recommend that
Others do the same.
I urge you to take immediate and decisive action to address the
Systemic issues plaguing your customer service department and to implement
Measures to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future. Customers
Deserve to be treated with respect, dignity, and fairness, regardless of their
Background or appearance. Anything less is a betrayal of trust and a disservice
To your loyal patrons.
In closing, I implore you to reevaluate your approach to
Customer service and take proactive steps to restore confidence in your brand.
Until such time, I will be taking my business to companies that prioritize
Customer satisfaction and respect their clientele, such as Kroger, Walmart,
Costco, Publix, Whole Foods, Best Buy, and others.
Taking money without me making a purchase, then confronted lead with the star settlement Target lawsuit and claims that they know nothing about it. Then refuses to refund the money stolen from me. Not once, BUT TWICE. Btw star settlement Target is a lawsuit right now, please Google it. It's plain as day and it's happening again in Missouri. Photos for reference.

The customer service leads are full of themselves and I told the one I was working with that I hoped her stuffing was cold. :) just in case she reads this, she will know who I am.

Our family obtained $125 in Target gift cards which were all in $25 denominations. I used the remaining balance on several of this cards towards the purchase of a phone from Target's web site and had it delivered to the local store.
The gift card covered all but $5.92 of the purchase, which was put on my RedCard. I've used Capital One (formerly ING Direct) to schedule credit card payments at least one week ahead of schedule for multiple bills for 20 years. Not a single payment has ever been late as illustrated by my previous excellent credit score of 811 (see screen shot).

Two months after purchasing the phone I get a letter in the mail stating this is an attempt by Target to collect $7.92. I needed to call Target to find out what the charge was for as the letter didn't state what the charge related to. I also do very little shopping at Target at almost everything they have is cheaper elsewhere. Even the local Menards home improvement store is cheaper on many common food items.
Unknown to me the payment that was scheduled had failed at Target's end. A minimum finance charge of $1.00 had been added to the original $5.92 over the span of two months.
During this two month period they failed to send an email alert about the payment being overdue. I know they have my email as a email account search produced dozens of emails from them announcing their sales. During this period they failed to alert me by mail. I know they have my mailing address as they mailed me card and the demand letter two months after the payment was late.
They also know my excellent credit score, as they pulled this when I applied for the card. There is not a single prior instance of anyone else being paid late over the course of multiple decades. My credit report shows "Exceptional Payment History" for 53 credit cards spanning multiple decades. An amount of $7.92 was sent to them the same day I received the demand letter (November 15th) via my bank and they got the payment the next day (November 16th). This is the same method they had gotten paid several previous times.
Yet Target took it on themselves to report me to a credit bureau on November 18th. As a result my excellent rating of 811 dropped by 99 points to just a good rating of 712. The combined score of the three credit bureaus is now down to 690.
Assuming one was having trouble paying their bills what does Target do? They report you to a credit bureau which is checked by potential employers when you apply for a job. A low score may indicate a increased chance of employee theft and similar behavior in the eyes of many employers and you will not be hired. Target's solution for those actually having trouble paying their bills is to kill their chances of being hired which turn makes it harder for them to pay what they owe Target.
This shows you just how much Target cares about you as a customer. Its willing to destroy your decades old credit history for $7.92 and not even have the decency to contact you by email or mail. Their system screwed up and they blame and punish you.
Boycott Target and its credit cards.

I had resently came to the springtownship, PA branch target and was about the check out at register 6, I'm A manager from a walmart and this behavior was shocking, I f she worked at my store I would fired her. So meanwhile the girl that was supposed to be there was missing and left her station, coming to find she had been flirting with another male cashier and I called her over to finally take care of us, her name tag read Sydney. She had red-ish dyed short hair and black framed glasses, short in stature. We had forgotten to buy something else we needed and returned and came to check out at a diffrent register, register 7. This time she fruequently came to pesture the young girl taking care of us thus interuping our transation. She kept asking the girl "do you have any reshop"? The girl siad no yet she felt obligated to literaly bend her head down and snoop around her register. Comes back a second time, this time she SLAMS her red bin on the bagging table of the young girls register as to taunt the young girl with her presents. And today Thursday november, 18th 2021 after time, We seen the same UNRELIABE girl from last time comes to just stand near to same young girl from last time and watches her while she pretened to arrange the soda machine AT THE OTHE GIRLS REGISTER, mind you Sydney had two other customers stand at her own register. The managers here are too blind to see that that new girl Sydney is A unreliable, Bossy who thinks just cuz she's new here that she can boss other I am A witness, evertime I come here that girl Sydney is either pestuering another cashier about reshope that is not her own to worry about and snoops around in others registers OR flirting with other male cashiers, she should be fired.
Store 2501 It's crazy how much unconcious bias is at this store. A huge lack of motivation and gossip among the team leads and hr and the favorites. You know the managers do not care once so ever. They nit pick every single thing you do and make you feel like utter st for it. They do that crp on purpose please trust me they do. They drive away all the good employees and keep the favorites the but kissers who are very two faced. The night shift manger has made me people cry before and shes treated my husband with disrespect. I used stress out a lot and be up all night and feel sick from the way they have treated me. There's absolutely no reason for it all. And you literally don't have to do anything wrong. Its hard to feel some kind sense of belonging at this store. The only thing I have ever done is my job. It's all the gossip girls running they mouths. They just have who they like and want. It's like the popular table at high school but in a work environment. Extremely toxic. The new store manager is very racist and homophobic and against anyone different other than herself. One of the lods will micro manage you and lie to you and make you feel very uncomfortable. And later down the road will get you in trouble. The night shift comes in and runs st their own way. They get away with a lot of stuff others get in trouble for. Very shady st goes on in this store. They do not help you and act bothered by you if you ask for any kind of assistance or help. They make you feel absolutely worthless and talk behind your back. Almost like they are better than you. Your basically the st they step in better than you kinda way. They are everything a company shouldn't be. I found out a co worker I thought was a friend had been lying to me everyday just to look for reasons to run to management. Trying to get me to confide and complain so she could go kiss azz. Tha only reason I stayed is cause I have Bill's to pay. They don't care about taking care of their employees though such a high turnover rate. Also little to no breaks 10 to 15 hrs a week. Hr turns a blind eye to any concern. They give the favorite employees 40 a week and everyone else nothing. It's like if you are genuine and real they hate that. I get being fake for customer service but they are absolutely crazy scary fake. I used to work my azz off staying late coming in covering shifts in Hope's I could get more hours. But ever since the new store manager they have got very bad. I have been with this store for 7 years. Please let me save you stress. I would look elsewhere for employment. Especially If you are looking for any kind of diversity or respect at all for others and any hours. 15 /hr may seem appealing, but not for the amount of b. S and lack of hours and respect for employees at this store.
I am writing this review based on an experience I had at the Target store in Anaheim Hills California on September 12,2020.
I bought a movie from this store that did not work. I had been looking all over town for this particular movie and was so glad that the store had it. When I got home to look at the movie the movie did not work. I called the store and the associate told me to bring the movie back for exchange. I went back to the store to return the movie. When I got home I had the same problem with the movie again this movie also did not have the digital copy inside.
I was a little frustrated so I decided to call the store manager. I spoke to Target Manager Daniel and explained the problems I was having with the product. Daniel was very polite and insisted upon making my shopping experience better. He told me he would go look for the movie in the store and test it himself to see if it worked. He said he will call me back once he tested the movie.
Daniel called me back to confirm the movie worked. Daniel also said he would leave the movie at the Guest Services counter so it would be there when I arrived. I had already made two trips to the store and wasn't really in the mood to make a third but I really wanted the movie so I decided to go get it. When I arrived the movie was at the guest counter and Daniel came out and greeted me and apologized that I was having problems with the movie. During this time there was a homeless lady at the counter she she was asking if someone could call her a Lyft or Uber so that she could get home to Los Angeles. Daniel took the time to help her by letting her know he would make the call for her.
Daniel went above and beyond to rectify the situation he took the time-himself to find me the same movie, test the movie to see if it worked, called me to verify this before I came back to the store and had the movie waiting for me at the guest service counter when I arrived. To top things off he took the time to come out to the guest counter to greet me and he helped this lady. I left the store feeling better about the purchase. I just want to thank him and the guest services associate that was on that afternoon and evening for the awesome customer service. I feel it was a great effort to promote service recovery and high quality customer service. I was really impressed with the way Daniel helped that lady.
It's really nice to see someone showing compassion to someone less fortunate especially during this time we are in due to the pandemic.
Daniel took the time to make sure I was satisfied and not dissatisfied. I am 62 years old and and It's hard for me to get around. I shop at this Target store quite frequently. I just want to say thank you for all that you do, your dedication to service and for helping me with my shopping concern
Sincerely, Melinda
I have ordered from Brandywine (Wilmington, DE) Target curbside pickup for over a year now and have had issues with over half of my orders (which I place frequently.)
If this began at the time of COVID-19, I would 100% understand. However, this is not the case.
In over half of my orders, I was missing items. At this point, I'm unable to get out of the car to check my order (which isn't my responsibility anyway) due to crowded parking lots and people not wearing masks. I have severe asthma and am considered high risk for infection. I shouldn't have to put my life on the line to get what I paid for.
Recently, I ordered a storage bin which came out without a lid. The employee said she would be back with it. After waiting 30 minutes, I had to talk to another employee and found out that the first person I dealt with left for the day and didn't relay the information. While the second employee did attempt to help, she had to go into the store twice (20+ minute wait for both times) and came back saying they didn't have it. I was told I had to go in to the store to get refunded and I'm unable to do so due to health risks.
The very next order I placed was missing FOUR items. Everything was jammed into a large target bag (too heavy to carry anyway) and I had to claw it open. I only noticed one item missing because I didn't have time to go through item by item. When I called the store, I was not able to reach guest services and was eventually told by someone in electronics (only department that I could reach someone) that I would have to come in for the item because I wouldn't be able to reach guest services at all.
First of all, this is not an isolated incident and it is not acceptable when I have a 30 minute drive (one way) and there's a solid chance that the item will be sold out and I'll have to wait in an extremely long line just to find that out. Besides the fact that I put my own and my family's lives in danger while we are trying to quarantine to save our own and others health and safety.
Although target will EVENTUALLY refund you, that doesn't excuse the fact that this is happening. I ordered those items because I
NEED them. The refund isn't processed for several days. Now is not the time to be waiting for money with myself laid off and my husband's hours cut. Now, I have to wait 3-5 business days to buy my dog food because of this. Sadly, we don't have any money to be able to do that at the moment.
After hours of waiting on hold for the store and the corporate office (on multiple occasions), I was told that their only solution is to provide feedback to the store.
Anybody that knows about business knows that this is not a solution that will work anytime soon. It also does nothing to help my personal situation. Target refuses to do anything to rectify and most at the corporate office were rude and unapologetic. Not to mention that I was disconnected and/or hung up on multiple times, furthering my time taken to remedy this.
This is absolutely appalling and unacceptable but they won't do a thing about it. They truly feel that it is reasonable for me to risk my life to fix a problem on their end. Meanwhile, this company makes billions of dollars.
It's sad that this is the way that Target conducts business in general but particularly during this time.
