I drove my buick to Tameron Buick GMC in Daphne, Al.for service. The check engine light came on, in addition I received an e-mail from onstar stating I had a possible bad oxygen sensor. The car was running rough. The Buick dealership checked the car and told me my engine needed replaced and the cost was $11,933.02. I picked-up the car after paying $189.95 for them to diagnose the problem and drove it to a small auto repair shop. There, they did the following repairs: "Removed and replaced spark plugs and #2 ignition coil. Reset PCM." For those repairs I was charged $690, and was happy to pay that rather than $11,933.02. That was on August 10th and the car is still running great.
Tip for consumers:
Be careful with the big dealership, they have a large overhead and do repairs that aren't required, like in my case.
