Sent me a dead peach tree. I kept calling and would only get a busy signal. An email to info at summerstonenursery.com goes unanswered.
I knew their website was too good to be true. Low prices - free plants etc. Well if they charge little and give supposed free plants who will complain?
I am going to file a complaint to the TN Attorney General's office.
This is definitely a scam.
Tip for consumers:
DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM
Do a BBB review for yourself for the scoop on this company. My peach plant was DOA and it was obvious it had been dead for quite some time... possibly one of last years' returns. Impossible to contact by phone. I am only out about $25.00 and now consider myself lucky.
I would give them zero stars if that was an option. I ordered 3 linden and 2 locust trees March 12,2015. They finally shipped May 21,2015. I read several really bad reviews about this company after I placed my order and tried to contact them. Their phone is always busy and they do not respond to email. I was charged $57.25 for 5 dead trees and two free but also dead bushes. The lindens had dried up leaves 1.5 inches long. Obviously dug after breaking dormancy. Thus the cause of death is obvious. All were dried up and stiff. I planted them just in case and they have not shown any life 10 days later.
In contrast i ordered a dwarf pear and dwarf pie cherry from Stark Brothers Nursery at the same time as the order to Summerstone. The fruit trees arrived in mid April with plump small buds. They began growing immediately after planting and are thriving with many full size leaves and new stems forming. I live in Boulder county Colorado and have purchased many bare root plants over the years with good results. This is the first absolute bust I have experienced.
DO NOT EVER buy anything from this completely dysfunction outfit!
This business is a scam. They charged my credit card three times. Three months later and I speak with a different person daily and they say an outside company does their refunds. All the trees died and was sent the wrong order in the first place.
