I took my car in for suspected clogged drains on the sun roof. They had my car for 4 days yet did none of the work requested. I picked it up as I needed my car after 4 days (no curtesy car was offered and was told that they didn't have curtesy cars) and was told that the recommended charges was $700.

About 1 month later I came in as my check engine light was on. They performed a 4 wheel alignment, replaced the passenger side tire, replace an O2 sensor, did a state inspection and cleaned the drains for a total of $1203. 95 (the drains were a total of $196.50). The day I picked up my car, I noticed a creaking noise coming from somewhere in the car. As I had other things in the car, I didn't think a whole lot about it but later realized that it was coming from the same place that they had replaced my passenger rear tire.

I brought the car back in and after they kept me waiting for 2 hours (service person went to lunch while I was left waiting for a verdict), they informed me that my rear trailing arm assembly was bent. As the car did not make that noise when I brought in the car but did so immediately when I picked the car up, I suggested that they fix what they had broken. The dealership told Lexus corporate that the damage was pre-existing (yes I had to go to corporate to try to get satisfaction). I looked up the part online and found that it can wear out after 90,000 miles or could get damaged by hitting a pot hole or going too fast over the railroad tracks or if someone places the car lift in the wrong location.

I told the Service Manager that they need to keep my car as it was dangerous to drive due to this breakage and he tried to get me to drive it home anyway. I did get a courtesy car from them and was told that I had 24 hours to figure out what I needed to do go get the car repaired as they initially wanted another 1K for the repair but I managed to get them down to $650 for an $80 to $245 part that they broke.

Lexus corporate refused to intervene so I have filed a complaint with the State's regulatory board as IF this broken part was pre-existing as Sterling McCall claims to Lexus, then they should have found it when they had all 4 tires off the car AND heard the creaking during the inspection. This means that not only were they trying to send me home in a potentially dangerous car but they weren't upholding their regulatory responsibility during state inspections.

Don't EVER let your wife, mother, daughter, etc take the car to this dealership as they have absolutely no care for the lives of your loved ones.
