Staples can offer some spectacular deals thru their Easy Rebate program. The catch:
You have to fill out a rebate form on line, from your receipt, and then
Wait 4 to 6 weeks to get the credit. This means you have to remember to check in 4 to 6 weeks.
Costco gives instant rebates at the checkout. Staples' program is outdated.

I've been a long time shopper at Staples. They offer some great deals but the "gotcha" on many of their sale items is that you have to fill out a Rebate Form and your rebate is a ripoff "gift card". My last one was $29 and some change. This time I used all but $4+ from a $27+ rebate. If your card ends up in the back of a drawer or even in your billfold and you forget about using it, after 6 months they make you give them back $3 a month from YOUR Staples EASY rebate until they take every penny of it. It's an EASY rebate because no telling how much money they have taken back from their customers over the years. Folks it's very likely you'll end up NOT really getting all of your rebate unless you use the full amount in 1 visit made during the first 6 months. The 6 month clock starts ticking the day they ISSUE the card. I've decided to not consider any Staples "sale" price where you don't pay that price at the cash register. In fact I rarely shop at Staples anymore just because it's too much trouble to benefit from their "sale" price. In my opinion, Staples is BANKING on people forgetting to spend every penny of their "reward" card.
