I planned my trip two weeks in advance, one apartment I waited for a week and a half and the landlord nor the customer support replied. After some time, I booked a different apartment but the landlord requested more documents two days before travel. I sent them but received no answer from the landlord and customer support. As a result I booked a hotel room for the same day I arrived and booked a different apartment on Airbnb, which actually worked compared to this waste of time or, sorry, spotahome.com. Don't use it
DO NOT USE THIS SITE! Absolutely terrible experience. I am still owed nearly £4000 from a deposit and a rent overpayment, which only occurred because Spotahome hadn't transferred the landlord the rent I sent them in time so money was demanded from me on arrival. Spotahome have made very little attempt to help me get this money or the deposit money back, saying I need to sort it out directly with the landlord. It has been 6 months since I moved out of the property now and she has ignored all my calls and messages asking for an update. Despite Spotahome being aware of this, the property I stayed in is still listed on their website with claims that it's had 67 happy tenants.
Pictures attached are of the flat that I rented for two months in Madrid. This is still on their site now despite what I am going through with the landlord so I would be very careful and avoid as there is absolutely no customer protection.

I rented a room from Spotahome. The room looked good on the site but in real life it was super small, overcharged the landlord was a liar. He asked me for extra fees cleaning service, no taking shower after spesific hour no washing the clothes during the morning or after 9pm. The landlord broke every single rule in the house. I contacted Spotahome for help they declined and told me its between me and the landlord.
Horrible customer service. When I realized they were charging me a whole month's for 2 days I told them they gad missleading information. They replied to me that I need them. They dont need me. They will find customers but I will not find a plave in Berlin. Not only they had horrible customer service, but also horrible manners.
I cancelled a booking N*******-Y3 shortly after making it. Charged €347 by Spotahome for momentary booking on top of a down payment for the first month of a property which I could not view.Instead I was asked to pay all months rent and utility bills for a property i could not view in advance. I reached out to the landlord and spotahome within 24 hours where I was met with silence. It has been the most unpleasant booking experience I have ever had thus far.
This is the most $#*! apartment booking website I have encountered. I was renting a room via Spotahome and I had a problem with the autopayment method they provided. And as I was trying to troubleshoot the problem by contacting them via Whatsapp and Email. Nothing. No reply. What I got in return is a bot-generated email saying that I haven't paid and I'm breaching the contract. Yeah no $#*! Im waiting for your assistance.
What is the point of having a customer service email address and a team that is supposed to assist their clients when they do NOT reply?

They added almost 600 EUROS of hidden fees AFTER I had booked and said (of course) that I could not cancel the booking.
They stole 1800 EUROS of my money.

I booked an accommodation with Spotahome and paid the price that was shown on their website, When I'm supposed to move in The Landlord is not picking up, Spotahome helpline suggested that I book an emergency accommodation, out of my pocket. When the landlord gets back to me, the lease agreement has abusrd deposits, which were not mentioned on the website. The Landlord approved the booking now I don't have a place to stay and They are not responding to my request for a refund.
The tenant made a false claim and so Spotahmo said they would not pay me. I presented the evidence of the room, that was provided to the tenant that was agreed conidiation. They told tenant I said they must leave the property, they said they will not pay me, and they took money from the tenant stated I requested a depots fee, which I was unaware of. I only found out about this money because the tenant complained about being over charged. Booked a room and paid for it but never had my landlord answer me for two weeks. (They only give you landlords contact info after booking and paying the first months rent and an extra fee. After reporting to spotahome they only suggested I wait but since I couldn't wait for longer I had nothing refunded. Lost 680€ and the landlord who did nothing for me will recieve the forst months rent anyway.
I am trying to book an appartment through Spotahome, but my creditcard and my pay pall is refused for 2 weeks. I contacted them by email sereral time and by whatapp, but after 1 week they answered to ask me again what was wrong (I already pointed it out) and then there was silence and no solution! I could not reach them!
Booked a room through their website in March 2022 - they double booked the room due to their INCOMPETENCE, left me HOMELESS, worst customer service I have ever seen, no way to contact them properly, their employees seem to have no motivation to be helpful. I find the service offered very useful and would be happy to pay a fee to Spotahome, as long as that accommodation is provided for me. In this case I stupidly made a mistake and canceled the reservation after a few minutes. The landlord had also immediately contacted me on Whatsapp, I explained to him that there was an error. They did not want to proceed with the full refund, violating the basic rules on the right of withdrawal. I didn't want to take legal action because honestly I have many other things to sort out at this time, but it only takes a moment of distraction to lose half a salary in an instant. BE CAREFUL! Unfortunately I will use their website again, given the difficulty of finding accommodation in Lisbon, but in general I DO NOT RECOMMEND, if you can find accommodation in another way it is much better, you will avoid unpleasant misunderstandings and expensive loss of money.
I'm a landlord in Berlin, Spotahome deducted a full month rent from my tenant bank account, and then never managed to transfer it to my bank account for me to cover mortgage and utilities.
Two months on, and still no solution in sight even though I did sign their rental protection agreement.

I have set up an alert for an apartment that is available for a period from September 1,2021 for 12 months. I received an email with references to some apartments that matched my criterions with starting dates of their availability that did not mention a year but just a month and day. I really liked one of those apartments and quickly booked it. When I received a confirmation, I noticed that the dates are a year ahead from September 2022 rather than 2021. I immediately wrote about this error to the client service team and to the landlord. The landlord replied that her apartment is indeed only available in a year time. I have not got any reply at all from the client service team. As I need an apartment this year I cancelled my booking with an intention to use the service for another apartment but received a cancellation invoice for 375 EUR. This experience is disappointing. Why to send an alert on wrong dates, totally ignore my request regarding wrong dates and charge the fee on the booking cancellation? Will not use thus service again.
Their reviews are 1.24 over 5. A terrible company and a scam. You can't see the landlords before you book so you might end up with the worst rental agencies of any city that cannot rent without access to these types of ghost platforms. No customer support to help you when you inevitably fall prey to the mostly shady and scamful apartment owners who want deposits 48 hours after booking, keep your deposit forever and do not answer neither during the booking process or after when you want your deposit back. Specifically I had an issue with Roomswerent, you can google the reviews to see how much harm they have caused other people as well. But the best part is no one else would let them lease through their websites anonymously except Spotahome which is why they promote their terrible apartments filled with insects, cameras and people entering your rooms! I contacted Spotahome immediately when I saw the reviews of the company and felt unsafe to stay there and pay deposits beforehand and they have only told me that it is my fault that they are enlisting terrible businesses their website. Another review by Medium is available to read about the same situation happening in Portugal to another girl. Please be careful, there are better and cheaper options do not go for this.
This business is not actually doing the retal but charging you 500 to connect with landlord first of all. I paid 2600+ and they kept adding additional ways I needed to verify after literally sending my passport, scanning my face and voice, sending my credit statement for address verification, screenshotting my confirmed payment. Yes all of these things completed and still I was removed access to my account because I wasnt verified and then the landlord reaches out under a different name and different email asking for my passport. Customer support is only available through email zendesk. And they're extremely slow to respond and only available in local hours. So 2am - 11am my time. Taking hours to reply to email. I requested cancellation and they sent me terms and conditions and privacy policies instead of info on cancelling. This is a scam they're trying to get people to apply so they can take fees for using the service and say they refuse refunds because it's not 2 months in advance even if you book in less than 2 months makes no sense. The landlord then can add a contract with additional fees and rules not mentioned on the original booking. It's a whole scam use another site that includes all payment within and is trusted. You'll have to report to your bank.
On Friday 9 of June we booked a house through spotahome wich initially I was shocked with the amount of money came out of my account, we were told one price of 1100 when in fact they've took 1900 on the arrival of the property we were met the landlord and his son ( we were shocked with the conditions of the property) after showing us around the landlord demanded extra 1000 pounds in case of possible damages wich my partner disputed because it was all included in the initial price the landlord and his son wouldn't leave until we paid it wich the state of the house was totally unacceptable so we left we tried to contact spotahome but by then the office's were closed, there was no kettle nothing to cook with and we were going to be there for 3 weeks.we read on the terms and conditions that we could cancel with in 24 hours if we found it unsuitable and they would find us alternative accommodation as the office was closed there was nothing else we could do but spend more money for another place.24 hours later we are still waiting for a response, we are totally in shock the way we have been treated the landlord contacted me when he found out we had left and to be honest I've never had to take so much abuse hopefully no one will ever have this experience.
The biggest scam and fraudulent company on the market, hands down. They utilize a false marketing strategy to make you believe they provide legit and verified homes —however, it's not true.
Let's start with the facts —this company is probably 4.1 on Trustpilot because they buy fake reviews. So check how legit these "one-review randomly named people" are on this platform.
First, the homes are around 50% above real market value; you'll surely find cheaper places on your own.
Secondly, my personal story was that they put me together with a landlord suffering from serious depression —also taking countless medicines (painkillers and sleeping pills), drinking on them, and constantly disturbing me with psychotic notes and messages. It ended in a way the landlord threatened me that if I was not social with her, I couldn't use certain things in the apartment.
Then I contacted Spotahome to resolve the issue professionally. Instead, they forwarded my message –that I write to them directly– to the landlord (yes, the Customer Service agent shared my private conversation with the landlord).
After the landlord kicked me out of the flat while accusing me of fictional things and harassing me via phone, email, etc. So this is what 'Verified Landlord' means in their vocabulary.
And what did Spotahome do? They promised me a refund in 15 business days. We are around one month, and I still haven't received anything. They won't respond to the ticket I submitted on their website; they disappeared with the money.
THE BIGGEST SCAM COMPANY ON EARTH. I will consider taking legal action against them. JUST GO AWAY FROM THEM.
