“Uncaring, unprofessional, unhelpful and rude”

Leovani P.

This review is for Souther Siberian Rescue at southernsiberian.com My name is Leovani Payseur. On Friday, Aug 18th 2017 at around 1:03pm, I called the number on the southernsiberian.com website, which was *******798. A lady answered the phone. She didn't state her name. She didn't answer the call by stating the name of the business or organization. That seemed unprofessional in the first place. I told her I was calling from the website southernsiberian.com and had a husky mix needing a home quickly. She said they had no spaces available. She didn't ask where, so I told her it was in Dallas, NC. I told her we were going to take the dog to the pound in the next day or two unless we found a home. She didn't provide any additional information and hung up on me. Didn't say goodbye or anything. Abruptly hung up on me for no apparent reason. The call was extremely short. I was trying to ask if there was any other way, any other place locally tonwhich she could refer me, but she hung up and didn't provide any other websites, organization names, shelter names, phone numbers or people or anything else to contact so we could find a home for this sweet, precious husky mix who is beginning to get hungry. This proved to me how uncaring and unhelpful she and possibly the organization she is with is. So, not only was she completely unhelpful, but also uninterested and unwilling to so much as try to help. It seemed like she cared more about getting off the phone quickly than about our dog getting a safe and loving home, instead of being potentially murdered at the pound. After she hung up, which was not only unprofessional, but disrespectful and rude, I became angry for the dog because of this individual not caring or trying, and for myself because of the rudeness. I did nothing to deserve to be hung up on. I was respect, but had an urgent and serious tone in my voice, hoping she would do what she could. After this, I immediately began texting her. The exact and entire text conversation went as follows: Me: "Did you just hang up?" Me: "Your number was on the southernsiberians.com website. It's very rude and unprofessional to hang up on people, you know..." Me: "Not only were you unable to help, but you hung up. Your website deserves a bad review for that, don't you think? You wouldn't want that now, would you?" Me: "We were not finished talking and no one said goodbye to each other. That does not call for ending the call. Do the right thing. Her: "Sir - I've been rescuing dogs for 17 years. Many people threaten me that they will take their dog to the shelter if I don't help. It's very upsetting to hear this. I'm at work and I cannot help you. Good bye" END Screenshots of the call and text conversation are provided below in image attachments. She said she 'couldn't' help. She didn't even make an effort to help, but there's still no reason to hang up on someone just because you're lazy, impatient or in a hurry. I understand she was at work, but the professional thing to do would have been to say something like, "I'm sorry that we cannot help you at this location at this time, but I can send some information to you where someone else may be able to help you. I'm sorry, but I'm at work and I must go now. Have a nice day, sir. Bye bye." This, followed by some helpful information in a text or email would have shown me she cared. Don't lie by saying you're 'upset' if you don't even give a care to help. I would never recommend anyone to take their husky or husky mix to this particular organization. I don't even trust that they would do the right thing with a dog if they won't do the right thing with humans who are needing help trying to do the right thing for dogs. Four words to describe the lady who answered the phone and therefore the organization she is supposed to represent by answering the phone for them. Uncaring, unhelpful, unprofessional and rude.
