ABSOLUTE Scam!
November 13, 2018

This review does not deserve 1 star. The camp is a fraud and a scam and deserves ZERO stars. Dennis Lukens is a dishonest, insincere scoundrel. Please, once you have read this review, please move on to a real legitimate soccer camp. I wish I had. Waste of money and time. I can't say enough bad things about this camp or any other of the camps that Dennis runs with different names. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY!

Scam
August 30, 2018

"Dennis Lukens is a SCAM ARTIST Dishonest Company, Stay Away from this Camp"
They changed their name to: *******@gmail.com

Unfortunately we are now on the long list of families Dennis has ripped off and here is the step by step: We signed up our son Alican Sozen for two weeks of Premier Soccer Camp in Carlsbad about 6 months ago. In late May, Dennis changed the dates of the Carlsbad camp WITHOUT ever letting us know. When we noticed the change on the website by chance and asked for a refund, he said they will of course take care of it - yet didn't! After much back and forth, he even had the audacity to give us a personal check for the refund which he promptly stopped payment on, so not only did we not get our money back, but even had to pay a bank fee for his "Stop Payment trick" as salt on the wound! We have contacted him numerous times since, with NO response. He is a dishonest man and I would advise everyone to STAY AWAY from Premier Soccer Camps. The BBB or the Sheriff's department needs to act on this scam artist!" The amount he owes us for refund is $395. We need and will appreciate your help resolving this scam issue. Thanks for your kind assistance. Since I live in Turkey, I can not go to police or other law enforcement agency. I tried to send them e-mails with no reply. If anyone can find a trace of this dishonest man, or finds a legal way to deal with him, please let me know.

Update on ultimate soccer camps
August 11, 2018
Updated review

To anyone out there considering ultimate soccer camps. They are still advertising another week (next week) at Cornwall on the Hudson. They do not have a contract with NY Military Academy. I have been corresponding with the school. There is NO CAMP.

Received an email from ultimate soccer yesterday stating the refund is going out on Monday. Not counting on it but will post again if we receive anything. Stay on them. Do not give up. We cannot let them get away with this.

We are the latest victims of this disgrace of a camp. Drove 300 miles, 6 hours round trip to NY Military Academy at Cornwall today. The school told us that Ultimate contacted them many months ago to do this camp but never sign a contract with them, but continued to advertised this camp and collect money. I have a disappointed son and he has a pissed off mom. They sent me a cancellation notice but not for this camp. Trying to get a refund now. I did email them, they did respond telling us low enrollment was reason for cancellation. When is someone going shut this POS Dennis Lukens down.

Like many people I signed up my daughter for the camp at Cornwall-on-the-Hudson. (glad I did not get my team to sign up given the other reviews I have seen here) I feel fortunate in that the day before he responded to my email and told me the camp was closed due to low enrollment. Now I see the pattern. Wish I had checked this first. Traineffective.com has a blog where they recommended them. I would strongly encourage everyone to reach out to whomever suggested the camp and let them know. I highly doubt we will see our money again. Which bums me out as much as the fact that my daughter will miss out on summer training as it is too late to find another camp.

One star is too much. Wish I had seen these reviews sooner. My son and I took a 3 hour drive to the beautiful campus of UC Santa Cruz for soccer camp scheduled August 5-9. What an amazing place for a soccer camp. We arrived early and spent an hour checking out the campus and looking for the camp. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THERE WAS NO CAMP. I talked to numerous very friendly people all over campus for the next couple hours who didn't know anything about this camp. After we saw all these reviews we got back in the car and drove home in Santa Cruz beach traffic at 4 pm on a Sunday. If it was up to me Dennis would spend a few years stuck in that traffic as punishment. F' you Dennis!@!

Update: I cancelled the charge on my credit card as soon as I realized this camp was a scam. The camp has now submitted paperwork to my credit card company stating the camp is non refundable. These guys are unbelievable. They know how to work to system for sure. BEWARE!

Unfortunately same story here. Signed my 2 boys up for camp in Northern California for week of Aug 5th. Got e-mail that camp was cancelled and have not been able to get a refund. Once I started investigating further, have been finding this site and many others (as SCAM organization uses many different names and probably fake references to coaches on their various websites). Message me if you would like share information between us to try to help get our money back. There has to be a way for some internet fraud organization, police, BBB, to shut them down and help us get our money back.

This camp does NOT exist. He advertises not only under this camp but UltimateSoccerCamp, PremierSoccerCamp, NorthCountyFootball and more. This guy teaches the children nothing. He has them play scrimmages against each other. My husband is in law enforcement and we cornered this guy before pulling my son out on the second day. EVERYTHING the parents say is true for July 2018. I witnessed it all. Dennis Luken advertises he is a profession coach and he is associated with CHRIS MAKIN. DON'T believe it folks. We filed an incident report with San Diego State University Police. This is a very serious offense. Nothing he said about the camp, skills being taught, Nike soccer ball included exists. He brought in this poor girl from Argentina, Mabel, and then used her identity to lure parents in. She knew nothing of what was going on and also said he never paid her or her friend. He looks like a creeper and I wouldn't leave my child there not one more day.

Dennis Lukens is definetly a scam artist, and also a creep. In the dorms, he wouldnt even knock on our doors, he would just open them, or try to open them if they were locked. He would yell at the 11 year old kids. He even shouted at one of them who was playing by the pool and said " what are you an idiot!" I dont think that kids parents paid 700$ to hear a grown man yell at their child like that. He was a grouchy unorganized man, he wouldnt do head counts, he tried to make the kids j walk, and almost got them hit by a car in the streets, he let 8 year olds cross the street by themselves. He barely even trained the kids, he just let them play scrimmages all day. Boys and girls ages 11-19 all mixed together. One time i caught him in the same room with 5 eleven year old girls from Alaska, taking a picture of them claiming it was for " advertisement ". Don't go to this camp thinking " hm maybe this one will be different " because ur just gonna walk right into another scam, and never get your money back. Trust me, keep your money, before its too late. Find a different camp thats not under the name Dennis Lukens.

Fraud
July 26, 2018

CAMP DOES NOT EXIST! Ponzi scheme! We paid for a College ID Soccer camp at San Diego State University for a session running July 22-26 through Ultimate Soccer camp where Dennis Lukens was the director of the program. When we showed up on the first day it was complete chaos and complete disorganization with boys and girls ages 12-17 checking in and being housed on the same floor. No coaches or college scouts were in attendance. Everytime we approached Dennis Lukens as the director to question the number of kids attending the camp or the colleges in attendance he avoided us or simply disappeared. There was one coach in attendance from Argentina and she was not paid for her services. The kids were taught minimal skills were unsupervised and were left alone at camp for hours with minimal soccer being taught or played. Chris Makin was NOT in attendance so the itinerary that is listed is NOT what was taught or ever intended to be taught. Parents are demanding their money back to no avail and the Argentina coach nor her assistant coach were paid. Denis promises refunds froma company that doesnt exist or that he is the person you are emailing when you file for a refund. Nobody knows where the money is and the San Diego state University is not helping at all. Several complaints and incident reports are filed with the San Diego a state University Police department. This camp is an intential fraudilent act. PLEASE GOOGLE HIS NAME HE IS A FRAUD!

SCAMMER
July 25, 2018

Dennis is a complete liar and is just looking for money. He told my friend and me that we knew what we signed up for but we sure didnt sign up for a camp where I share a bathroom with a boy and watch unsupervised kids leave the campus when wanted. Barely got to play soccer because Dennis would get too hot and run off without taking a head count of all the kids. Parents would ask for a refund and he would just walk away saying he doesnt have time for this, he would tell them he is out of money and couldnt get them it. Didnt even pay the coach whos name he used to get kids to come. Blocked my parents and the other kids parents from his phone after we left the camp early. Completely ruined a big opportunity for my friend and me. NOT A CAMP ITS A COMPLETE SCAM!

No Camp Refund
September 6, 2017

Last July 2016 the San Luis Obispo camp was cancelled. I contacted Mr Lukens and he said he would need time to refund the $450. I have been patient... a year patient! It has now been over a year with no correspondence from him and emails go unanswered.
Buyer beware.

Not Paid
August 29, 2017

Worked all week for Dennis at Army Navy Academy in Carlsbad, Ca. None of us coaches were paid for our time. At one point there were only 2 coaches for 80 kids. AT A SLEEP AWAY CAMP. I had to use my own equipment because Dennis did not provide enough for all the campers. He was absent and on his phone the entire time. The last day of the camp with when the campers finally received their soccer balls and their camp t-shirt--just in time to make it **look** like the camp was organized to the parents--but In reality there was no structure, no guidance, and no time spent with Dennis. He did not even remember any of the kids names. This man has ZERO integrity. Us coaches were all duped. We were not paid a dime for the amount of time and effort that we spent at this camp. Unfortunately I did not come across this website with all of these negative reviews before I agreed to work the camp. I would have never agreed

Same story. Camp cancelled and given notice a week prior. Paid $695 for one camper 6 months ago. Emailed and called (no one ever answers, always voicemail) over and over but no reply. Unprofessional and criminal. Based on other reviews by ex-staff and ex-campers, glad my child did not end up going. Still want my money back.

I registered my two children in January for a premier soccer camp to be held in San Luis Obispo CA in July. Never received health forms or registration confirmation via email. 3 weeks before camp, the director emailed me to say the camp was canceled. He offered to transfer our $ to another camp, or for a full-refund. I requested a full refund. Never heard back from him. He did not respond to my follow-up emails asking when we could expect our refund. Finally, we went through our credit card company to resolve.

I only found out the SLO camp had been cancelled after I emailed Dennis wondering why we hadn't received any health forms for our son 2 weeks before camp was set to begin. He promised a refund of our deposit - 5 emails and 2 voicemails later, still nothing. He's taking money for services not provided, after guaranteeing a refund. This doesn't seem legal.

Like some of the other reviewers, my sister-in-law and I were promised a refund for our 4 boys several times over the past 18 months for the camp in Carlsbad. He kept promising he would refund her because they could not make it to last year's camp and finally after he kept putting here off over and over again, I had no other choice but to request my early bird fees that I paid last fall in anticipation of this years camp. I just could not send my boys to a camp that appeared to be ripping off my relatives.

We have e-mail after e-mail were Dennis Lukens says he will refund our money but then fails to do so and then finally says he can't really do it because of Christmas -
That he needs the money for his own Christmas and I thought "what about our Christmas - it's our money not his!"? He also promised that he would send my boys the premier soccer camp shirts they are supposed to get for attending the camp (he ran out of their sizes and couldn't give them theirs last year).

We would be interested in working with others to do a class action or joint law suit. Going to have to take him to small claims court and ask for legal expenses in addition to what is owed plus interest. His camp was sub par (it used to be good but has been going down hill for a couple of years now) and my boys want to go somewhere else after going there for 3 years (and actually they are attending an AC Milan camp this week - and that is far better than this camp). If anyone wants to file a joint law suit contact me at *******@yahoo.com. Let's band together and make him do the right thing - stand by his word and be honest. Enough of the delay tactics...

My two daughters attended camp last August 2016 at the mass maritime camp. First we were told that the camp provided a "Goalie" session, that was a lie. There weren't enough kids to break up into groups and have a dedicated coach. Second, my older daughter, who was 16 at the time was supposed to be in a group with kids her age, that didn't happen. She was playing " mini scrimmages" with 12 and 13 year olds. I knew there was an issue at check in when myself and two kids were the only ones there for a long time before any staff came. Then a handful of kids showed up. I pulled my kids from camp the next day. The coaches actually agreed with me when I took my kids home. The only issue now is trying to get a refund. Dennis Lukens has done nothing but sell me lies. His excuses are "we have no money right now" or " I promised you a refund but you have to wait a few weeks". Hear it is June 2017 and still no refund. Stay away!
