CuWe have a 12 year old Sleep Number bed, so when it finally got uncomfortable, I figured that was old enough and we'd need a replacement. I went into the SleepNumber North Park (Charlotte, NC) store here. But when I explained the issue, the saleswoman (Darcy) told me I probably didn't need a new bed--to my astonishment. You don't see salespeople turning down sales usually. She set me up with Customer Service, where I first talked to a fabulous rep, Nique, who walked me through problem solving, and then on how to test the air bladder: 47 minutes going through everything on the bed, including finding the (very old) sales receipt. We passed the air bladder test, and another rep, Nadia, fixed us up with replacement foam at discount. These people saved us at least $3000 - on a 12 year old bed that will now be like new. Amazing customer service - best I've experienced in years.
The beds are designed to have multiple critical failures as soon as the 1year warranty expires. I have had my bed a little over 2 years and have had 3 things break that all rendered the bed unusable until I paid a lot more money to them to fix it. This is their business model, you've already spent too much to just get rid of it so they know you will have to keep coming back and paying more. It's a total scam.
I purchased my first Sleep Number mattress in 2008. It came with two separate air chambers that, as described in another review, kept separating. I too used pool noodles to fill the gap. Last November, the remote stopped working so I took it to a Sleep Number store to buy another one. The representative said I had to call Customer Service to obtain another. So I called and was told unless I had the original invoice, I could not replace the remote since that remote version couldn't be verified. Terrible CS experience.
Months later, I went to my local S# store to inquire about a Climate 360. The salesperson was friendly, no pressure, and knowledgeable. She also told me when I bought the original mattress, where (online) and the original invoice number. I decided to chuck the remote and buy the 360. It did take 10 weeks to arrive, but when it did, the techs were courteous and knowledgeable. They installed it in my converted, canopy waterbed without a problem. I also bought the remote, which I thought should be included, but the 360 primarily uses a phone app.
Last week, something went wrong with the pressure setting. I called the store and they said to call Customer Service. So with great trepidation, I did. I was pleasantly surprised. The service rep went through several diagnostics and conversed with me during the tests about a multitude of things; the weather, our jobs, sleep number experiences, etc. She spent over an hour, and when I had to go to work, she said she'd call me back when I got home- which was her quitting time. Nevertheless, she stayed late and called back, then proceeded to do a deep dive, taking a couple of hours. She isolated the problem, and is shipping the part Next Day Air. When she found out the technician wouldn't be available for three weeks, she was able to expedite that to one week (and apologized for that length of time) In short, I've never had a better CS experience.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the bed and superior customer service. Maybe the company is heeding all of the critical reviews. I do get much better sleep and feel well rested. That said, I'm not sure the bed is worth $13k, Let alone their sheets. But then I knew that going in.
My owners purchased this mattress and installed it yesterday. I fell asleep in exactly one minute. Slept soundly for an hour. I would have given 5 stars, but I did have 50 minutes of restless sleep. It could have been the stress of keeping the house safe, thou.
Documenting the rare occasion that our bed is actually made. How many of you make your bed daily? …. And yes, the tree is still up.
The morning is getting darker and it's getting harder to get out of bed. If you are a lark, please tell us how you do it. I have zero energy... But it was only with the previous beds. The new ones feel different. I'm finally getting enough sleep with my bad regimen.
I bought the base model (C2) for 12 months interest free. No baffle, one remote. As for how long this thing is going to last, I will have to update later. Right now I'm very pleased except for one thing... THEY WILL NOT LET YOU PICK UP FROM THEIR STORE AND CHARGE ALMOST A HUNDRED FOR DELIVERY.
I was not happy about that AT ALL and felt ripped off.
I wasn't happy with my previous mattress and was looking to try something different, so I bought a Sleep Number bed with the standard, non-movable base. Their rep on the live chat helped me out. She was very knowledgeable and she also owned a Sleep Number bed that shes had for over nine years or so. And that was important to me because I want to know if can have a bed that lasts for a long time. Its expensive so the biggest driving points to buying the bed were longevity and replaceability of parts if it wears out, dual sleep chambers so that my wife and I can have different settings, which we have, and finally, the ability to move later on to a movable base, which I might get eventually. Their delivery team were very efficient. They were in and out in less than an hour. They hauled the old bed up, which was fantastic. I'm also happy with its quality. I like that it sleeps cool compared to my previous bed. The common point about the bed, which is nice, is that we can change the settings of the bed. My number changes week to week. I might like it stiffer one week and softer the next. It depends and I like having the ability to change it. I would recommend it to others.
