This all began for me less than a month ago and after signing with Care.com. I have received 2 in 3 days jobs that want to pay me upfront t and ask questions that were all answered per my profile, which I have paid to set up. I did research and found that Care.com is an umbrella company where 28 other companies work connected to their name. Care.com. I am getting nothing but constant fraudulent inquiries, Nigerian scams that want to pay me upfront to assure I am committed when they arrive to town. I embarrassingly fell for one of these 20 years ago, but never again. Think about it, someone is willing to send you 2K to a complete stranger to assure I am committed. Red flags everywhere. Do not even look at anything from Sitter. Com, not to be mistaken with Sittercity.com who is legit and I have been with for 6 years. I sent a txt to Care com and told them what was going g on a s told them if I didn't here from them within the week I would file many complaints and cancel my the caregivers subscription. Do your homework and do not give Sitter.com any information or your email to them.
I was so excited to have the opportunity to apply for babysitting jobs but ITS A SCAM! Do not waste your time on here. I was messaged by a couple people the day I set up my account and I inquired for further info. One person (Brandy Conklin) got back to me and asked for personal information (house address, age, name, some of which were in my profile). If you receive an email or text that looks like this, DO NOT respond or give personal info. Fortunately I had a bad feeling about this person so I did not respond. Make sure to ALWAYS read reviews about sites like this!
2 different people messaged me saying they were "moving in a few days and they needed a sitter right away without even asking for references." this is a complete scam, the next day l looked up this woman's profile and it was gone. There is no real job it's all just a scam! DON'T USE THIS APP. Other people have gotten the same messages too. 2 different people saying pretty much the same thing.

This site lets you message families for free as a caregiver, up to the point you are about to set a date and time to meet then they blur your messages and force you to pay expensive membership premiums AS A CAREGIVER I'm repulsed by the greed of these ppl, multiple times I've been approached with scams/by scam artists and weirdos and never received help from customer support. This site is a joke don't use it, you'll feel sad and like you wasted your time.
What a scam. There were only a few jobs available in my area which did not change over the time of one month. No one replied to my messages, I wonder if they were real. I received 3 messages from possible employers which were all scam messages trying to take my money. Don't waste your time or money.
Tip for consumers:
Don't
Received a email from a Christie M long detailed message that she and her family was living out of town and will moving to my area at the end of this month. She wanted me to shop for her at a furniture store which is ridiculous. Said she would pay me in advance which was a dead give away that this person is a scammer. Lastly I was asked to give her personal information and banks. This is the oldest trick in the book don't fall for it it's definitely a scam it's a shame
I got a message from "Carissa Malone" asking me to email her about an open position. The job seemed too good to be true. (Over pay) So i looked up the reviews for sitter.com and found other people are getting similar messages. Please view my photo and dont respond to emails set up like this one.
I am a sitter and was looking for jobs and i've received 4 messages from "parents". I'd email them back and I got the same reply, about moving close to where I live and the same back story using cancer as one of their issues. This is absolutely ridiculous how inconvenient this site is. So many scams and these "people" never email back. WASTE OF TIME DONT USE

Had different people emailing me saying they were "39 and deaf " and both had kids in wheel chairs. Def was a scam! Stay away from this site it isn't safe
We were using this site in Northern VA to find a good sitter. We had to subscribe (no one time option) to communicate with potential sitters. At first the candidate pool seemed promising but then we found that most profiles are dated several years with no way for us to filter who is an active user. Of the 4 individuals we were able to get in contact with two were no shows after agreeing to come and one had a criminal record (found her multiple arrest records via Google search). One candidate did work out for us however she had just turned 15 and had to return to high school the following week. We ended up hiring an aupair after this nightmare search but we're reminded of the site again when we got charged the monthly fee. I promptly contact the site the same day the charge posted indicating that we don't use the site or need the month of service. But they did not honor my refund request.
In summary, it is a rip off site charging users for access to its mostly outdated and inactive candidate pool.
Tip for consumers:
Avoid paying for their the sites service. Run your own background checks. Have a backup plan even if a candidate agrees to babysit.

Got the same thing i guess this is horrible what people are doing and really sad. And i really love watching children. Unfortunately i didn't know but i am Thankful i got it in time i need help emailing this fake check back to them. To good to be true.
Beware of "Emily Johnson" who says she has a 6 year old son called Jason, is from Cuba and deaf. She is a total scam who pretends to offer you money for errands. Stay away!
I'm in high school and trout this would be a good way to get easy money. I guess I'm just dumb. Beware of Sacha Bailey. They said they were 39 and deaf need help taking care of dog and paying bills and I would get $400 for my first week. I should have read the reviews first.
I have been out of work for quite some time and just searching for ways to generate a little extra income... well... I have never in my life felt as stressed, disrespected, taken advantage of or humiliated as I have felt in working with this particular family... I absolutely enjoyed providing care for the three girls in my care... and they too were very fond of me... even referring to me as"aunty"... it's very sad because I feel the children miss out due to irresponsibility of the adults... never compensated for 2 weeks+ and I had to leave just to hold on to some of my sanity and integrity... all I wish for is that these individuals never have an opportunity again to put another soul through their disarray... shameful, shameful, I could NEVER treat anyone the way in which I was treated... which I allowed due to my kind heart... never again. It was a learning experience... although I took a bit of financial loss, I am at peace and feel a weight has been lifted... ACCOUNTABILITY... is what they need... yes, I would love to be compensated money owed and was even willing to accept partial compensation... but... to no avail... and honestly it's more about the principle for me... not the money... please don't ignore the "red flags"...
My reason I canceled & deleted my sitter.com account is apparently what most people are saying from what I'm reading, who signed up for the basic plan. Very misleading to say the least. When I received my first message from my first & only potential sitter client, I went to reply back and it said, "You've reached the Basic Plan message limit. Upgrade to continue conversation", which was BS and absolutely incorrect! I only reached out to ONE person, who was also the ONLY one who replied back to my ONE message. The client wanted me to contact/message him back so we could set-up a time to meet his wife & child and I wasn't able to reply back in a timely manner because of sitter.com's purposely calculated platform / glitch of a system. Very misleading and falsely advertised. What a shame for the client who's looking for a sitter!
Tip for consumers:
It would be helpful if they hired an IT individual to manage & fix their platform.
Be careful on what jobs you apply to. Not everyone on there is an actual guardian looking for care for their child. I got a message that seemed fine and they wanted to email me. The email was very grammatically, incorrect and very suspicious.
DO NOT SPEND ANY TIME, ENERGY OR MONEY ON THIS SITE
Just like everyone said, the site if full of scammer and the customer service is nonexistent. STAY AWAY - STAY CLEAR - FIND ANOTHER SITE
This site is far from helpful and a complete waste of time. I just wish I'd read the reviews before using it.
I bought a background check for this company to make my profile look professional to people needing help for their caregiving needs. It was only $12.00 for a background check. I bought the cheapest one. No where on the transaction said it was $12.00 a month. The other options were subscriptions, so I chose the one, what I thought, wouldn't charge me monthly. Turns out they did. I unfortunately caught it 3 months later. No where on there website does it explain what the subscription is even for? They don't even have a customer support phone number! They charged me from Toronto, Canada as well as a charge from New York that I believe was "been verified" each time they charged me $12.00. "Been verified" charged me $26.00. Which racked my account up to $70.00 overdrawn. Absolutely ridiculous! People who are willing to work should not have to pay for what they think is a background check and have to pay every month for something they already paid for! What are we giving you $12.00 every month for if we still don't have a babysitting/caregiving job with you guys? It's crap! These scammers need to take some serious ambition notes from these people leaving these reviews. Every one on here calls this site a scam. If you work for this company, shame on you. Get some ambition and work for what you get don't take from people willing to work! Get off your butt and work like these people are willing to work!

This site is just ALL SCAMS and FAKE PARENTS! STAY AWAY! Kinda freaked out who you can trust and not trust! Be careful of men calling you off this site! They use the telesafe number. BEWARE!
Sitter.com has been a major disappointment at best. In terms of finding care, we only had one person actually show up for an interview even though the job was easy, flexible, and well-paid. She worked for a few days then ghosted. She never returned out housekey.
We cancelled sitter.com soon after that. However, they have charged us TWICE now the automated fee though we have cancelled. Don't use this service.
Stay away from Rose McCarthy, Nicole B, Rose Macanto... etc. Anyone who tells you they "are moving in a few days time and will pay you $400 to be deducted from $1400..." blah blah just report right away. I am reporting this whole site. The one job i did find ended up being with a pervert of a man who gripes me in front of his daughter
Stay away. Read the other reviews. Sitter.com and Careguide.com are umbrella companies. They ask for subscriptions. They collect credit card information. All the leads and inquires you will receive will be from people such as AMY CANDICE attempting to commit check fraud. These companies and the people running them should be prosecuted. I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission regarding these websites. I urge everyone to do the same to raise a flag and have them prosecuted.
It has many fake accounts, both in the same Area
Same job position.
I signed up with an email and paid and signed up with another email and didn't pay.
The account without a pay had more jobs and responds. The account with the pay had less jobs without not even one response!
Bottom line it's a scam with many fake accounts!
I made an account a year ago, and I even inquired about a sitter job. I never received a reply. I also haven't spent any money on this site because of these reviews. But it's really sad if a whole website the promotes on job board websites could be a fraud. Honestly, I should not have to pay anyone to get a job, obviously, I'm broke sigh. Atleast they could ask for money after a couple of completed jobs.
