This company doesn't care about their customers

Tried to get help with my generator that wouldn't start in August 2019. Never used apart from starting it up and running it for a hour twice a year.
Ruby in their customer services gave me wrong information time and time again and after a month of hitting my head against a brick wall trying to get help
I managed to speak to Dave Gordon, their General Manager.
He was appalled by the service I had received and offered to take the machine back and repair it if it was possible.
I sent a confirmation email referring to our conversation.

Very soon after my wife was taken seriously ill with cancer. Then several months later a burst water pipe in lounge and then covid hit.

The generator became a low priority over that time and had been put away and forgotten.
Until the recent storms and we lost power for days.

Referring back to the original email I sent a an email asking if the offer to help and the circumstances as to why I hadn't taken up his kind offer.

Timeline:-

21st February 2022: Sent email explaining the above. Acknowledgement of receipt, But no reply

24th February 2022: Sent another email asking for a reply. No response.

1st March 2022: Spoke with Ryan he advised that Dave was away at an exhibition until next week, So went through it all with him as he couldn't
Find the original email and requested that I send it to him I'll make sure he gets it. I spoke with him again to confirm receipt and got an email: Ref *******.

11th March 2022: As still no response I rang again spoke with another member of staff, Again I went through it again who took my telephone number
And advised me he would put a message on his desk,

18th March 2022: Still no reply. Undeterred I rang again, again he was not in. I Went through the same process and told him how disgusted
I was with the company and advised him I would be putting reviews on as many sites as I could find and write to their CEO Andy Wyatt, telling of my experience.
He requested if I would hold off a couple of days and he would again get in contact with Dave Gordon.

21st March 2022. Still no reply. So my reviews are on their way.

The irony is the service he was appalled about is only matched by his own.

SGS Engineering UK Ltd: New Order # *******

Ordered placed on Sunday 19th of April 2020 for a motorcycle lift.

***I did not pay extra for next day delivery because I was told it will be delivered by the end of the week 3-5 working days from Monday being processed***

Monday 20th of April 2020 contacted SGS customer services to ensure the order was received and being dispatched. Was advised by the staff member that everything was in order and item was in stock (even stated on website) and courier will contact me directly to arrange delivery which will be with me by Friday 24 of April 2020 at the latest. Despite me querying 3-5 working days. (Even provided and updated telephone number and offered to pay extra for delivery but was not needed).

Tuesday 21st of April 2020 contacted SGS customer services to liaise if item has been collected by courier and was advised this will be seen to today. Yet courier will be in contact with me directly to arrange delivery.

Wednesday 22nd of April 2020 contacted customer services to liaise no phone call from courier and it's been 3 working days. Is this motorcycle lift going to be delivered by Friday 24th of April 2020?.

Was advised by customer service that the motorcycle lift should not of been on sale as it was listed as a test on the website despite it being in stock we are currently testing the item.

In response I advised how can such an item be placed on sale on the website if it's currently being tested.
Surely you would test the item and if it passed then you would place it for sale. (At this point trading standards came to mind)

However I explained that I absolutely appreciate that safety is paramount but I have purchased this item due my arthritis and I have arranged for friends/family to assist with the move once delivered.

As well as having a few customers motorcycles that I am currently due to be working on and this lift was purchased to carry out the work. As you can understand the ripple effect this is going to cause me down the foot fall with customers.

Eventually I had to suggest surely out of good will of gesture a partial refund or even a next day delivery to be offered for the hassle of disruption after all this lays with SGS and not a me as loyal customer. Despite purchasing items from this company before i. E compressor/generator never received a problem. (Feel free to search me up SGS purchased via eBay and direct)

Nevertheless I was advised that the message has been passed onto the manager and that I shall receive a phone call.

Thursday 23rd of April 2020 no phone called received. Despite my efforts of reaching out I don't particularly like being on hold for more then 25 minuets. After all am the poor soul who's been chasing this up when it should be the other way around. Not like am be paid to do your job for you right?

As the saying goes "Quick to take your money but..." So as it stands £337.90 short out of my hard earned cash. As we can all understand with the current climate every penny counts to get by in this day and age let alone loss of a customer trust and confidence.

Finaly get through and was told that we've loaded the van up and it will be with you by Friday 24th of April 2020. Thank God for that.

I thought the happy ending would end there well sadly enough it didn't and Friday 24th of April 2020... Phone call from SGS (absolutely shocked as they actually know what a phone is and how to use one) sorry can't deliver the lift will be here on Monday 27th of April 2020.

To be fair the gentleman I spoke to was quite open and honest. Soppose you have to be when you the bearer of bad news. Yet the moral of the story was principle 3 different stories from a few different people and not everyone was singing of the same Hyme sheet.

So after waiting for an item that's still yet to be received and no phone call from management or courier. Despite me even offering to pick it up at cost or no cost. Despite my call on Monday with the initial call for the clarification of the delivery being delivered on Friday.

So my order is now cancelled and awaiting my refund. Let's see how long I'll have to await for that to be processed.

I can't be bothered by the enlightened explanation from SGS chapter 1 no delivery and verse 2 no phone call excuses from there 2020 edition excuse book.

If you can't return my phone call please don't respond to this review SGS. If you have time to respond to this review then it's ironic how you can't simply just pick up the phone and call me instead?. Or better yet deliver the item when promised instead!

P. s No I will not be calling you instead I'll be having to chase my money back from PayPal and filing a complaint to trading standards as am sure under the sales of good act your pretty much failed on that to.

Also I'll be passing on my personal experience to all my racing buddies/ social media as am sure they would love to know about the rigmarole.

NO MORE LOSING MY TOOLS

The tool drawers and separate cabinet were a Christmas gift for my son - his choice. The item arrived very quickly after I placed the order. When he opened it on Christmas day every thing was fine, no dents etc. He was absolutely delighted with the gift so much so he could not wait untill he had it assembled. The only wee problem we had was trying to get the cabinet from the underneath cupboard. It was very tight because as we tried to get it out the handles of the cabinet kept catching. With a little bit of effort we got it out with a few scrapes on the cabinet but this did not detract from my son's satisfaction. The item is quite sturdy and was well worth the price I paid for it. I would have no hesitation in recommending SGS Engineering.

Faulty Compressor & Generator

Faulty Compressor & Generator
I have a 150lt compressor month old and now a 8.1 kv generator now 3 weeks old, long long story on how I have ended up with this equipment!
So the short story, compressor, as said above 4-5 weeks old, using it to stain sheds any thing wood really, after doing my research and contacting SGS for advice was recommended this compressor, not being a professional unit but would cope, sometimes Im out in fields so I need to run it, so contacted them again for advice and basically told it would take so much power to fire up the generator would over £2000! Why was I not told this? So my reply I have not got £2000? They replied we do a smaller unit and would run the compressor but not every day all day, that I understood, Doing my research again, finding that rating was not cheap and rather large! So think thats keep in house and to be honest the reviews and the compact size suits, ordered online as I did the Compressor, it arrived, putting it altogether nice!, after 2 hours of use it had put a good coating of oil all over the inside of my truck, so not happy! Then a week later the compressor gets a fault, upon inspection, the head gasket had blown, so Im getting a little tad upset, that the equipment that I have purchased has major faults and only both are not that old, contacted SGS, first response was, they are not meant for what I want to use them for! What? They are on your recommendation? So after a while of me complaining, they would send out gaskets and I have to replace them myself, I have spent a lot of money (to me it is) on the two units, now I have to repair them myself! So I asked to talk to a manger, and was put through to a lovely lady, Who said the same as the customer services, the gaskets would be put them in the post, now I'm getting a little upset with the response's, this not the norm they are good units, we can have them back to base or its quicker for me to repair, Warranties!
So I asked to talk to a manger who could help me, finally was contacted by a gentleman late yesterday evening, after waiting two days and me making contact with them twice more, a manager that was first upset that I complaining about the parts that was promised and never arrived, finding out that they was not sent anyway, tried to explain my problems, and completely dismissed my complaints and rather condescending. This getting me rather frustrated and upset that they treat me in this way, I asked that they took all the equipment back for a refund and Ill go else ware, answer was no from another gentleman I had spoken to, So I reminded them of the 30 day return, that only applies if you do not turn them on and in the original packaging, not sure how that works? So all in all, not Happy with the compressor or the generator, both have major faults, which I have to repair, the response from SGS is as always, the equipment is not meant for that use, which I purchased on their advice, semi DIY and professional use, will not except them retuned, so what am I to do? My fault I suppose that I invested in a England based company that when they have sold you the equipment, thats it you are stuck with it! Unless you do not remove from its packaging and DO NOT TURN IT ON
