As an expat I don't often send things back to the USA due to cost but this year it was necessary and I used sendmybag on recommendation of other expats. I found the customs form portion extremely confusing and frustrating but once I got that part figured out it was clear sailing. I sent a large suitcase, collected from my home on a Wednesday at lunch time and was in my sons driveway Friday at 1pm. Amazing service 10 days before Christmas. Would definitely use again!

Little did I know that 2 weeks later, when the suitcase had been unpacked, I would receive a message saying that my bag was bigger than the dimensions I stated. I cannot get my head around how a sturdy suitcase could expand and I'm puzzled that they intend on making me pay 20 extra euro for something I cannot prove, as I unpacked my bag already. Very disappointing.

I recently sent a large suitcase from hotels in Plymouth to Windsor, UK. I wasn't at either hotel for collection or delivery, so a bit stressed as to how it would go. Absolutely thrilled to arrive in Windsor and find my suitcase there. The whole process was easy. Customer service was brilliant and reassuring every time I called. I was kept informed of delivery progress via emails from Fed Ex (I think). Would definitely use send my bag again. Absolutely recommend. Thank you ;)
Although the courier in our opinion did not ring our doorbell and claimed no one was home, the Send my Bag team kindly rearranged collection for another day and without charge. This time it went well and the parcel arrived intact at the destination.

Highly recommend this company because the process from start to finish is easy, phoning is quick and explanations given are great and put your mind at ease. Lovely personnel, professional and easy to book your items for shipping. In my case, I had two pairs of skis shipped from somewhere near the Italian alps to north of London, all done speedily without any hassle in less than two weeks from start to finish.
This past Autumn was not the first time I used SendMyBag. As before there are so many details and forms, etc., and a lingering feeling that I left something out or wasn't prepared properly, etc. However, the detailed instructions, the on-line assistance, the phone availability, and the website all combine to make completing the forms a necessary chore but painless and ultimately provide confidence that all will be well. Every time I have used SendMyBags the luggage sent arrived on time and without issue.
I've used SendMyBag numerous times - too often to count - and have always found it punctual, pleasant and incredibly useful. It often comes in at cheaper than bringing the bag with me on an airline. The courier arrives at my door, takes the bag and the next thing I know it's being delivered to my holiday address or home address depending on whether I'm coming or going. It definitely beats carring a 20kg bag through airports, railway station, trains or buses. I highly recommend it.

The customer service was great - every time I used the chat facility I received clear & concise information & always helpful & polite. When the bags were in transit there was excellent communication & everything arrived exactly as promised. I would use this service again.
Fantastic experience with sendmybag from once I contacted them until bag was delivered in Australia. Was kept updated on progress of bag as was my daughter in Australia. Would recommend this service.
Collection was on the day agreed but no specific time was set to had to wait in all day. The final price was higher than originally mentioned on the website which was disappointing.
But the suitcase arrived at its destination safely and although it had been opened en route (possibly by customs as the locking mechanism was not damaged at all), nothing was missing from the case and there was no damage to either the case or the contents.
A shame because the service itself was quite good in terms of the actual pickup and delivery – although the paperwork is almost stupidly complex.
But never again. AUD $2450 to ship two softsider suitcases between Australian and France, sub 30kg each, and return them was always expensive – even against airline excess baggage (including $450 in "emergency situation surcharge" - whose emergency is not clear). It's a lot to pay for convenience.
Then I got further "surcharged" after the return delivery (and after unpacking), with the catch that:
In order to dispute the charge, please take a picture of each dimension (width, height & length) being measured and reply to this email with the 3 pictures attached. If you shipped more than one item this should be repeated for all items.
Measurements must be taken from the widest points and include any bulges or protruding parts such as wheels or handles.
"In order for us to use the pictures for a dispute with the courier they must clearly show the full side being measured, the measurement should be clearly visible and at least one picture should show the Send My Bag label attached to the item."
Which is impossible after unpacking.
You are competing with the (possibly false) accuracy of laser scanners calculating a putative cubic volume based upon alleged maximum dimensions, having measured the relevant package with a tape measure on a bed in a hotel room.
At least they didn't have the temerity to say it was overweight.
Lessons of this are clear – the dimensions that they stipulate are not the practicably usable dimensions – unless you are shipping a perfect hardcase, without protrusions of any kind (including their own tags) nominal dimensions are likely to be exceeded. A shipper will therefore always pay more for notional cubic than actual cubic. And cubic seems to matter more than mass.

I sent a case to Australia and found this service so fast. It took 1 week for the case to arrive at its destination. I found putting in all the details a little confusing, but the live chat really helped and the case arrived in good condition and exactly 1 week. I will definitely use this service again.
