Update: it's a testament to how bad this company is with the fact that when you try to contact this company's customer service, you have to wait an average of 2-3 days for a reply, but AS SOON as you leave a negative review, a response is given less than 8 hours later by them trying to validate their services. As a consumer, I would look at all the negative reviews that have been left about them and take a look at what complaint we all have in common. On sitejabber, Right Stuf has a consumer rating of 2.33 stars from 45 reviews indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Consumers complaining about Right Stuf most frequently mention customer service and credit card problems.
And in regards to this review being "better worded than the strong language directed at our staff", I swore and was rude with your con artists in 1 out of the 15 emails I sent, and that was the final one when I told you all where to go and how to get there, but nice try.
-Original Review-
Very, very, VERY sketchy company, made an order, they charged me, then took a week to tell me that they needed to "verify" the purchase, after that went down, waited another week for them to ship my item, got fed up, tried to cancel my order (april 6th) was told on the 7th that my order could not be cancelled as it had already shipped out, that was a blatant lie as I recieved an email on the 9th that my order had just been shipped... 3 days AFTER I tried to cancel, and 2 days AFTER they told me it was too late. Utterly HORRIBLE and unprofessional customer service, nothing but a bunch of con artists working there. As much as I'd hate to say just use Amazon, they are the WAAAAAAAAY better option and the lesser of two evils than this sham of a business... also, I have an email from them saying my guaranteed delivery date was the 13th, I live on the western side of canada, it is now the 14th, and it appears to still be on the eastern side of the states... wow, that $24 they scammed me out of for shipping was really worth it! Also, they list prices, yet nowhere on the site does it specifically say it's in US dollars, something they should really let people know when they're placing an order so it's less of a blow when they see on their credit card statements that they were charged almost 50% more than they thought they were paying, I agreed to pay almost $40, not the $60 I was charged. Avoid this business like covid.
Just use amazon
I had to do a charge-back because of defective items and missing orders, and I have been banned by them, even after being a customer since the mid 1990s. When asked about having my ban reversed, I was told by representatives that it needs to be reviewed by the supervisors. I was told that this is because they have their own claim policy to follow and we should not use our credit card companies/banks to dispute. But the problems are: 1) nothing on their website FAQ or Help resources mention this, nor do they reach out to you to ask to remove the dispute, and 2) there is no consumer protection as the decision to replace items, refund, or do nothing is solely in their discretion. I don't fault the customer care representatives, as they are following the policies, but banning customers because of one credit card charge-back is extremely petty. They don't treat customers well, even long time ones, and this business practice is shady. I would recommend buying from elsewhere. You can see that another customer had a similar issue, to which I also replied on their Reddit thread:

Stay away from this site and order your anime/manga elsewhere. There is no consumer protection other than what they provide at their discretion. If you go through the dispute process with an outside source such as your credit card company or the bank, you will be banned from ordering permanently.
Anime and Manga
My objective for writing this review is to share my personal experience with ordering from RightStuf, and perhaps convince those who are on the fence about trying this online retailer (like I used to be) to give it a shot.
(Note: I live near Toronto, and I ordered 19 manga volumes last Aug 13,2018)
I'll admit that I had some apprehensions about ordering from RightStuf because I've seen that its reviews are divided in websites like this one. But in Twitter, I've read more positive experiences. Bottomline: I took a leap of faith (haha) and decided to see for myself. Overall, I had a very pleasing experience when I ordered for the first time from them.
1.) Quick order fulfillment
I thought that my order will be delivered in 2 weeks, but it only took 4 days. In its website, they said that picking and packing will take at most 2 business days (after I placed the order), while shipping to Canada is estimated to be between 5-7 business days. But like I said, the whole process only took 4 days.
I placed my order on a Monday night (Aug 13). On the following day (Tues), at noon, I got an email notifying me that my order has already been picked and packed. On Wed afternoon, my order has been picked up by FedEx, and on Friday (Aug 17), at 10 am, it was delivered to my home.
It must be noted, though, that I ordered in August - after their month-long birthday sale in July, so maybe their workload is less compared to their peak periods. Also, the volumes that I ordered are relatively old, and so the chances of them becoming out-of-stock after I placed my order are very slim. With these, because Aug was presumably not a busy time, and my books are in stock, their order fulfillment was fast.
2.) The books are in great condition
I have very high standards (OC standards haha) when it comes to my books' condition, and I was very surprised that 16 of 19 of what I ordered met my high expectations. The 3/19 were still in good shape, but it's just that they have minor defects like scratches which I find slightly bothersome. In other words, for the average person, all of them were in great condition.
Their packaging is great. They wrapped the items with a brown paper material, and they put some cardboard on the sides of the box which act as cushion/extra protection. And they placed more of the brown paper on top. I wish they put some additional layer at the bottom which I think is the weakest side, but like I said, my books arrived fine.

The only downside from my experience is that, since I ordered from Canada, the USD-CAD exchange rate is not so favorable right now, and so it was like paying for the books at their full retail price plus tax here or maybe more (Obviously, this is already beyond RightStuf's control). But I didn't really mind because some of the items I bought were hard to find anywhere else.
Overall, I had a great experience when I ordered from them. Hopefully, this review will be of some help for those thinking about trying RightStuf. :)
