“Fail to do what they say”

I would NOT recommend this rehab to anyone. I mortgaged my house to pay $39,500 plus air fare and $1,000 worth of required clothing to send my son to Narconon Redwood Cliffs drug and alcohol rehab in Watsonville, Calif. That money was supposed to pay for my son to stay in rehab for up to six months, plus another month if he needed to return. That did not happen. My son graduated from this rehab after 5 months and he should have stayed the full 6 months. They said he was ready to return and he was NOT ready to return. He had a plastic bag to make alcohol using cranberry juice and sugar. They saw that plastic bag in his luggage when he arrived and failed to take it away from him. In the last month he was there, he was making and drinking alcohol and faking sobriety. When they took him to the airport, before my son even came home, he went to a bar in the airport and drank alcohol. After I picked him up, he was supposed to stay with me for only 6 months while he worked to get back on his feet. At first, he faked sobriety, while he bought with food stamps food flavorings (which contained alcohol). Within 3 months, when he first got more money, my son went to the liquor store and bought 80-proof Vodka. I was about to get another restraining (protection) order to get him out of my house, but he threatened he would break all my windows and do harm to me if I did. Although my son got off of meth, he is now a full-blown, drinking alcoholic who is usually too sick to work. He wakes up vomiting every morning and often drives drunk, and I cannot stop him. I got locks for my bedroom door. In other words, my son returned from rehab nearly just as bad or worse than before he went, and I wonder what, if anything he got for all that money I paid to help him get well. When it was apparent that my son needed to go back, Narconon Redwood Cliffs refused to take him back because they discovered he made alcohol with that plastic bag (which they failed to take away from him when he first arrived). If they had agreed to take him back for an extra month (like they had promised they would), they might have been able to prevent him from becoming a full-blown alcoholic again. In short, this rehab failed to do as promised and I did not get what I paid for. It was a waste of my money. My son is right back where he started from, except now he's living with me again and my own safety is threatened because I cannot get him out without putting myself at greater risk.
