Terrible experience with Raylo. After retuning a phone in perfect condition, I am getting bombarded with messages and emails claiming I owe them over £100 with ZERO explanation as to why. This is a scam! Ripping customers off after they cancel their contract. Avoid! I'm
Tip for consumers:
Trying to scam customers after they cancel contract
So when I took the contract out I've always been made aware you can pay the non return fee. Which is in the contract in black and white on the email when I took out the contract in 2001 to my shock I got a job return fee for around £400 which it should be £160.99 in total according the the legal T&C so now there charging a different amount without any warning.
I will take it up with the financial ombudsman and seek legal advice. Totally ripped me off now not happy
I returned a phone that didn't work, wouldn't download a basic app. Got a message saying nothing was wrong with the phone pay £470 odd pounds to cancel. Reported to financial ombudsman who wrote to them and they haven't replied in two weeks the time they had to respond has passed and the ombudsman will have to deal with this. Untrustworthy, stressful and not worth the hassle! Avoid!
Tip for consumers:
DONT they are too much trouble and illegal!
Customer support is terrible. No email was received about trade in collection so I was not prepared when they arrived. Raylo refused to rearrange and cancelled the trade in.
The clauses in the agreement are so bad, and legally binding you the customer to their very unfair agreement. Be careful of them easily providing you with an offer of a good phone at low price. They have no mercy on you later, if for any reason you can't afford the none return fee. It's like a loop hole you get charged added on them passed to debt collectors that don't do their job properly. Then Raylos and the debts agencies miscommunication and error you have to pay out of your pocket. While Raylo will just keep on saying well it's your agreement!
I lost the device rented from them over a year ago which I reported but yet they are still refusing to let me cancel now without charging an unaffordable non return fee.
Yet keep saying I am due an upgrade. Ha what a joke of a company, they are a disgrace
I have been paying Raylo since 2020. £33.99 for 36 months. Before I signed the contract (Raylo was founded only in 2019), I did my own research. All the websites, I checked at the time (techcrunch.com, finder.com, nutsaboutmoney.com, etc), were stating that after three years, if I wished, I could keep the phone for £1.
So far I have payed Raylo £1223.64 for iPhone 11 Pro. When it first got out on the market in 2019, it's price, published by Apple was $999.00.
Raylo now want further £368.00. The £1 is actually is a non return fee and they threaten to block my phone if I do that.
I have been lured into a contract, that now I bitterly regret.
Raylo did not show any understanding, nor care to stop the misleading information that is out there.
Communication with their customers service is appalling. Even when I escalated my complaint I got copied and pasted messages back.
I would have never chosen Raylo, If I knew then what I know now. I wish I never ticked that box!
Had no issues until 3 months ago. I logged on to pay and there was no visible function on the website to allow me to pay. I prefer to pay by card on the day rather than trust them to take the correct dd. I paid the bill the next day, after complaining and explaining it wasn't my fault they removed the initial "late payment fee" of £19. Now each month the computer is automatically adding £19 as a late fee, before its even created the next invoice! Each month I have to waste half a day waiting on agents in the chat to create a new invoice with a "promise to pay" for the following working day. I duly pay and it still charges me £19 the following month and I feel like I'm in groundhog day. Should have stayed with Vodafone.
Tip for consumers:
The agents are pleasant enough but the computer system needs an overhaul.
Not great, The price is ok. But you never own the Device which is a Rip Off.
Read the Terms and conditions of you are thinking of doing this.
False advertising, inflated prices, customer service non existent, avoid.Sent email phone from £23.99 then when goes to buy slap an extra tenner on
