This website is such a scam. I started off trying to bid on a 100 bid pack. This one name bid over 100 times to win the 100 bid pack. That didnt make much sense. Then I set my sites on a 64gb Ipad. This auction started around 8am and lasted until 4pm. I watched this auction all day. There were 4 names that bid on this item for the whole 8 hours. These 4 names accounted for 80% of the bids (about 10,000 bids). Then all of a sudden these 4 names stopped bidding and another name bid a couple times and won. I then decided to go bid on a mac laptop. This auction had bee going on for over 10 hours. By now I know this site is such a scam, but I thought I would just get rid of my 84 bids and never go back again. It was down to just me and this other name bidding the most. I placed all of my 84 bids and the second I stopped, this other name one. Interesting all the other names that were bidding stopped too. This all happened within a second. Very strange. I was very mad. I looked at one more auction I had been watching and saw the same user name bidding up another item. This is the same name that bid 1000's of bids on the Ipad then disappeared. He reappeared in another auction to drive up that price. I will not go back. Don't waste your money. Site is a total scam. I don't think real people are really winning any of the big items.

Don't waste your money. It seem like they use bots despite what they say as I watch one bot using what they call there bid-O-matic (an automated biding option) bid just before time runs out even for end on end (30 mins) when they have a limit of 25 bids every time you set it to bid and a supposed to place a bid at random intervals of 1-20 secs, but the max the time on clock can go to after a bid is placed is 10 sec. I don't see how that is possible if it truly works the way they claim. Add to that all the bids made by this person using the bid-o-matic didn't place a single bid himself/herself it claimed to be placed by the bid-o-matic. So this person must have the luck of the gods if the had the time to reset their bid-o-matic with the confidence that with it's random interval biding that it would make it in time before the timer when to 0. I watch as every few secs (20 or 30 or so) the timer would hit 1 sec with a person placing the bid when the bid-o-matic makes just it time to add more time to the count. SUSPICIOUS? VERY! And in the end guess who won... the bot... big surprise. I believed that it is set up so that it calculates the amount and have a bot bid until they cover the cost of the item at least or the bot wins, at least for the pricey items. It my not be so for the lower end item as it is much harder to tell if bots are used as the bidding doesn't go as high, but I think that some of the lower end items also have bots at random as I have won a 15 bid ($9.00 item) for $. 05 ($1.05 with their handing charge). However this far from the norm as I have similar it with no success. I probably would have had better success with $1.00 scratches.

All in all you have a much better chance of getting a deal on something elsewhere unless you have the luck of the gods, but then you should go play the lottery instead a much better use for your luck.

I was curious and tried the site out. I got two $25 gifts cards for under $3 each. You definitely have to be patient and careful. I don't think it's a scam but you could lose money quickly if you're not careful. Also, I stay away from the big ticket items like the ipods and tvs. You can really lose trying to win these. Maybe one day I'll try these items but right now I'm satisfied with my $25 gift cards (gonna give these for Christmas gifts) - I really can't beat that. I don't constantly bid. I've noticed about what a $25 gift card will sell for at it's highest so I wait until everyone else has bid to about that amount before I start bidding. I'm sure it isn't for everyone but I would hesitate to call it a scam. I won and I received my items. If I lose, then that's only my fault of not knowing when to stop bidding or drop out of the site if I start losing.

I was bidding on the site. I read the 101. I read the FAQ's. I watched it for a week. I did all this homework before making my first bid.
When I started to bid, I was not allowed to be the winning bidder on more than 1 item at a time. Yet, I saw numerous names that were listed as winner of many items at once. Another time I was prevented from bidding after winning 3 items in a 24 hour period. I also saw 3 'possible bots' win 6 items in an hour. Why are there rules for honest bidders that the site isn't following themselves?
Another thing it practices is the habit of moving items at the last seconds. If you click on an item in the last few seconds, the site moves them and you bid on an item that moves there, where your item was sitting. That cost bids and sometimes, the auction.
The shipping charges are bogus. Look at the price of shipping/handling. Why is the charge only $1.00 for one set of bids and $2.99 for another set? Why is there a charge at all for winnings on bids? They credit your account. No mailing or handling is involved. The higher the gift card that is won, the higher your shipping. Does it take more postage to mail a $200.00 card than a $10.00 gift card? They are the same size.
I wrote customer service twice, never got a reply.
I watched a 'bidder' bid every other bid up to 200+ dollars. It was still going on when I cut it off. This was on a 2000 TV. That meant that this 'bidder' paid more on bids than the TV was selling for. Why did this 'bidder' not quit and claim the TV at the BUY IT NOW since it was already paid for? This site has too many red flags. It looks suspicious. I think I will inform an investigative news show of this. I know this isn't illegal, but it is unethical business practice. Watch out for those impulses. This is like Vegas or Atlantic City. The house always wins. It should be labeled a gambling site, not an auction.

I RECENTLY BID ON AN 16G IPAD FULLY UNDERSTANDING THAT IF I DO NOT WIN I CAN BUY IT FOR THE RETAIL PRICE, SO IT GAVE ME A SENSE OF SECURITY KNOWING THAT I REALLY CAN'T LOSE MUCH IF ANY MONEY AT ALL. AFTER I DID MY BIDDING AND LOST I DID BUY IT NOW FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE MONEY OWED AFTER MY 456 BIDS@. 60 EACH. THE PROBLEM WAS THEY CHARGED ME 699.00 FOR A PRODUCT THAT APPLE SELLS FOR 499.00. CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG BUT I BELIEVE APPLE SETS THE RETAIL PRICE. I WILL TAKE SOME BLAME IN NOT CHECKING QUIBIDS FULL RETAIL PRICE BEFORE I STARTED BIDDING, BUT FROM PAST EXPERIENCE, MOST OF THEIR PRODUCTS THAT I BID ON WERE DEAD ON FOR THE FULL RETAIL PRICE. I HAD WRITTEN TO THEM AND THIS IS THE RESPONSE I GOT:
Due to supply and demand we have had to place a markup on the Ipad. Since these have just been released, they have been in extremely high demand, and have been very hard to obtain. In fact, for private customers Apple has placed a one per customer limit on these items. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

THIRD... FROM EXPERIENCE OF USING THIS WEBSITE AND WINNING OR PURCHASING MANY ITEMS, AFTER ADDING ALL THE BIDS I BOUGHT TO PRODUCT VALUE, YOU STILL WIND UP NEGATIVE IN THE END. IT CAN BE FUN, BUT BECOMES ADDICTIVE BECAUSE YOU LOSE SITE OF WHAT YOU ARE BIDDING ON, BUT INSTEAD, YOU TRY TO NOT LET SOMEONE BEAT YOU.

I watched an auction this afternoon.
Bidder A & Bidder B got into a bidding war - back & forth. No one else was involved. Even the clock showed "2 bidders in last 5 minutes". Then suddenly Bidder C comes in and starts bidding. Immediately Bidder B drops out. Not one more bid. So now its a bid war between A & C, with a few random bids coming in now from other people. The price goes up about $4 during this time. Then suddenly Bidder B is back and within a minute Bidder C quits bidding. The price continues to climb. Then Bidder B slows down, which allows other users to get their bids in and suddenly... the clock stops and... neither A, B, or C won... but one of the last bidders who had come in during the last $1 or so of the auction.

So. Did someone just get lucky?

Or did someone(s) purposefully drive up the price and then back out?

Or what?

Maybe you had to watch it to understand... but it really DID look fishy.

Just seems to me that at some point it would've turned into a bidding war between A, B & C... why did B & C come and go so "exactly" at the same times? Just weird.

Bid... but bid with caution!

This site is for suckers. I really can't believe that people, after reading how these auctions work and watching a few take place, would ever consider buying bids. It took me all of 5 minutes to realize that this is a scam and the company is making thousands of dollars on items that cost a few hundred. 60 cents a bid? Insane! I'm just shocked that so many people are actually foolish enough to use this site. I wish I had come up with this idea, although even if I had, I probably wouldn't have acted on it, because I wouldn't think that anyone would ever fall for it!

How Quibids is scamming me.

I won three auctions in my history with Quibids. The last was a 25$ Amazon gift card on 7/30/2010. It is now August 1st, that was two months ago. They still have not delivered the product.

My communication with support has involved me contacting them with regards to the missing product. (No one ever contacted me with a problem.) They said that they had to cancel a batch of cards and I would receive a new one in a week. That was a month and a half ago.

I waited two weeks and again contacted customer support who "forwarded the issue to a shipping rep" and said I would receive a card within the day.

Again I waited a week before contacting support. The following conversation then occured:

11:06 AM Laura: ok, we are still waiting on Amazons cooperation in resolving the issue with cards that had invalid codes. Our Amazon representative is contacting them again today. Please understand that the situation is out of our control and we have to wait on Amazon to take care of the issue. But we are doing everything we can to speed up the process. It is frustrating for us, but i know it is more frustrating for you
11:06 AM Laura: we will let you know as soon as we have a resolution from Amazon
11:06 AM Laura: we are sincerely sorry. Is there anything else i can do for you today?
11:07 AM Nathaniel Mahieu: Yes, I would like a replacement code.
11:07 AM Laura: we don't have a replacement code. We are waiting on Amazon to take care of that

11:08 AM Nathaniel Mahieu: Your company is currently operating selling Amazon gift cards every day. If there was a problem with Amazon this would not occur. Nothing is stopping you from issuing me a replacement code until you resolve whatever dispute you have.

This went on for about 20 minutes with no resolution. I still have not received a card. As such there are a few things I want to note to anyone who is researching.

1. This purchase would put me positive, getting more money out than I put in.
2. No representative contacted me to explain that there was a problem with my item.
3. In the terms on Quibids website there is no time line for receiving your item. Because of this they are able to continue making excuses indefinitely, never delivering their items.
4. If this truly was an issue with Amazon they would not be currently selling cards or they could easily issue a replacement card and settle whatever "dispute" exists on their own time. There is no reason that this liability should fall on the user, the company made a promise of goods and will not deliver. This behavior is highly unprofessional and dishonest.

Be warned. Don't expect to be dealing with honest people.

QuiBids is what it claims to be... an online auction. And an auction it is in the truest sense. Continued bidding extends the length of the auction just like live auctions. I think that fact that Ebay has dominated the space we're all used to that type of format which is technically not like an auction by traditional definition.

I was skeptical to say the least but after about one month of actively using the site I can say with complete confidence that many of the deals are legit. I myself have one a Sony PSP 3000 ($200) for $12, a TaylorMade Driver ($399) for $24, and a number of smaller items. HOWEVER, I do question whether BOTS have been employed by someone. I have seen buyers bid on items to the point where the final sale price+cost of bids exceeded the "Value" or retail price.

I would caution would be users to be on the lookout for those. You can sometimes spot them- relentless bidding with little strategy visible.

I am infuriated with this site and frankly think it amounts to price gouging and consumer fraud. I recently bid on a 40 in tv. The value price on the item was $559.00. The winning bidder bid $43.25. The auction was in $. 01 increments. Therefore, in order to achieve the bid price of $43.25 there were 4325 bids at $. 60 a piece for a grand total of $2595. 00. So in total we idiot bidders paid $2595 so that one lottery winner could get the tv for $111.05 plus $25 shipping and handling. What a scam! If all the bidders were working for the four hours it took to finish the auction from the time it first hit 20 seconds we could have all bought the tv outright. Instead the rest of the bidders are out $2483. 95. Time to call the attorney general.

I have been a member of this site for a few months and have won many items. Started of slow with smaller items then moved to the larger ticket items after gaining experience. And yes, it did cost a little in lost bids to gain that experience, but just about a month ago, I won a 2010 Samsung 46 inch, 3D LCD TV for $24.25! Shipping was 24.99. Amazon's white glove service delivered the television, set it up, and insured it worked. I did notice that most of the products I have won (approx 12) have been shipped from Amazon with Quibids on the label, but the box is Amazon and the address is their fulfillment center. This is really a legit operation.

Some folks may be disappointed initially with the site, but either you need to watch it for quite awhile, or start bidding on smaller items and work your way up. I am now over $1,000 ahead. Tell me where you can get that type of television, shipped and set up for less than $50.

I'm done with them. This isn't an auction, it's a thinly disguised gamble. Nothing they could ever offer is worth the stress of competition, the disappointment of defeat, or the self-loathing one (should) feel after having wasted so much time and money. It's just stuff, nothing more, all of which will become obsolete. Better to spend the time finding legitimate bargains and better to give your patronage to merchants more deserving of your hard-earned cash.

I think the best advice for this site is...

1. If you research Quibids and the auctions day and night, are a smart person, research quibids VERY WELL, and use commen sense you have a good chance of winning something on quibids.

2. If you end up doing Quibids don't try for the big ticket items its like winnig a lottery.

3. There are so much better things to do with your time than research quibids so you can save 100 dollars on a psp.( MAYBE)

4. Just go get a job. Invent something. Instead of trying to get quibids to give you items cheap make yourself a future and become what you want to be. Make the money you want to make without relying on Quibids.

5. IF YOU ARE SO MAD ABOUT QUIBIDS MAKING SO MUCH MONEY GO START AN AUCTION SITE LIKE IT AND FIX EVERYTHING QUIBIDS DID WRONG WHILE MAKING MILLIONS

6. There are better things to do than quibids. NOT WORTH It, don't try to go for luck go and try to find a way to earn enogh to buy a hundred ipads at retail price. Work for something

I have been on Quibids for 3 months now. I broke even the first month, lost money the second (my fault) and made money the third month. The thing is only bid for what you would be willing to buy anyways. If you lose use buy it now and buy the item. Never bid unless your willing to buy it. Never bid on the Bid vouchers they are worthless. Your afraid to bid using them because you can't use them towards buy it now so you hardly ever win with them. And last but not least never bid on items you can't afford. I win items then sell on Ebay so I get my money back. Set a Quibids budget and don't go over it and you just might find yourself having fun. Yes maybe they do make a profit but that's just business. Not a Scam. Well maybe the Bid vouchers are a scam. But You don't have to bid on those.

I've used Quibids for a couple of months and at first was very pleased, however, this past month I purchased as well as won several auctions but have yet to receive my gift cards. It's been about three weeks now. I have sent several emails asking for updates on my order and have yet to be answered. Quibids also offers an online chat option, which basically keeps telling me to wait while all representatives are busy before I request a chat. I am utterly disappointed and will be cancelling my account with Quibids

The major criticism of Quibids, and by association the various other "auction sites" is that they are not true auctions. That said, lets just call them "bidding wars" sites. Yes you are not going to win most of tthe time. Yes it costs to play. Yes it is a gamble. What is the risk? Purchasing bids that equals your pay to play. What is the benefit? Average of 90% savings od items you bid on. Can you lose all your money? Yes indeed. Can you win? Yes indeed. The truth is if you can afford to play the game with hopes of winning, then is can be rewarding; not unlike playing slots at the casino. If you are unwilling or unable to risk losing your bid money, this is not the game for you. The odds are against you. That does not make it a scam; it makes it gambling! And yes, I cheer out loud everytime I see the "You have won!" banner!

One other note. Bidding for bids is interesting. 100 bids cost $60. Lets assume you then spend 10 bids to buy 50 bids for $2. You now have 140 bids that cost you $62 dollars (. 44 a bid). Therefore winning bids for bids loads your warchest at a decreased cost per bid. My last auction bids were about $. 09

I was drawn in to check out QuiBids... it's very enticing with the offers of great electronics at dirt cheap prices... but I didn't buy. The question I kept asking was, "How are they able to sell this stuff so cheap?" That question wasn't addressed in the FAQs (it's not via advertising, it's not promo offers, etc). So, there was that nagging question in the back of my mind. You have to realize companies aren't out there just giving stuff away - offering something for nothing. It's NOT DONE. Years ago I fell for an unrelated scheme because of that pipe dream. Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me. Not falling for it.
