“SODAHEAD WAS HIJACKED AND its members MOURNED FOR REAL...”

Jacvquline M.
1/18/20

You could answer questions, make friends and customize your page which was fun and expressive. There was really no censorship and we could be ourselves, People would just match wits and verbally duke it out or crack jokes. The polls were enlightening and the site was a blast. Then one day without warning,... access denied. We panicked! Everyone used aliases so many of our friendships were lost in cyberspace and we each had a cyber soda funeral and grieved. (. I painted my tin foil hat black for a month... I was affected by this!) Sodahead was flowing for about 7 years- some of us got real close. It was a travesty, and if the government bought the contents- we are all screwed and on a list somewhere... just kidding.

“Waste of time rant forum run by and for internet trolls...”

Ryan F.
3/29/13

Waste of time rant forum run by and for internet trolls shouting insults and profanities. I tried it a few times, then left it. In my short time there, I saw intelligent people arrive and then quickly leave because they just get shouted down by morons who think that yelling and acting tough gives their arguments merit. Most of the popular posts are tabloid-level idiotic. At least the nonsense from National Inquirer is professional looking, this is unprofessional. If I could give this website zero stars I would, it is garbage.

Total lack of customer support. They offer bonuses for you to download apps and open new accounts with other businesses. After you have spent money to open these accounts they never fulfill the bonus. Fraud at it's best. Hopefully the class action lawsuit that was started will soon come to fruition.

This company's "paid" surveys site is a joke. It's redundant, prejudiced and biased. You have to go through hundreds of surveys to make a couple of dollars.

The company and the app it manages, Swagbucks, are a scam. At first, the system works well. However, the website is terrible to navigate. Many surveys waste your time filling out details, only to be informed halfway through that you don't qualify for this survey. Thus they get tons of information out of you and pay nothing.

Gaming wise, the company advertises offers that you must complete in exchange for rewards. Rewards will work fine for the first 2-3 tasks but sometimes, the company will not track your progress properly and they will not honor their pledge.

I reached out several times, but no one was helpful and they give you the runaround. Specifically, if their system did not track your activity and you report it, they will claim that you must use the ledger to file a complaint, but the ledger is tied to them having tracked the activity.

In essence, the company engages in outright fraud. It is highly recommended that people who have been deceived and misled report them to Consumer Affairs and the Federal Trade Commission.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid wasting your time.

Products used:
I completed several game offers.

I had been referred to sodahead by a friend that said it was a good political site. I had been supporting them everyday for years. I made some really good friends and then without any notice at all they wont allow me or anyone else to be able to log in. Add onto the fact that they are now using all of the profiles that no one can get deleted as sales points and you have the owners of this sorry excuse of an opinion site as they call it. When they tried to send us to a Facebook group when I messaged "Fef" why the@#$%^& blocked me. If they dont delete my profile within a week Ill be exploring legal options. I wonder if its a stretch if you use profiles as people that go to the site for page ranking and profit that goes with it. Sounds like FRAUD but Im not a lawyer.

SodaHead is an "opinion-sharing" website where middle-aged men and women go to behave like 12-year-olds and fling their sh*t at one another (as evidenced by some of the other reviews here). The site has been in a rapid state of decline over the past few years, due in no small part to an incompetent staff who constantly insult the site's members and deactivate their account if they speak up.

They closed the site to contributing members in early June this year. It is now a polling site run exclusively by the company's staff, using former members ID's and posting as them. Thus their polling results are inaccurate and slanted, not worth investing your time or money on.

Just joined there thinking it would be fun. It is as long as you don't think for yourself. Any sign of independent thought and they will jump on you like a pack of jackals. I made the mistake of answering a few political questions and they tore me up.

You could quote Gandhi there and get called a terrorist loving baby killing homosexual. They seem to believe that everybody is as radical about their beliefs as they are.

Great concept but the troll quotient is HIGH and RIGHT.

Anybody know a more friendly version, one where you know... actual opinions are allowed?

They had a niche, combining polling, commentary, and social media. Unfortunately, banner ad revenue was insufficient, so they abandoned the users (without any advance notice). Now they try and sell polling as a service, as if every content management system on the web doesn't do polling right out of the box.

Considering what they did with the user community, their fly-by-night tactics should be a red flag for anyone who contemplates using their service.

I tried to log in earlier today for the first time in about two months. I had no idea that they had disabled their users. I've been a member since 2008 and have made lots of friends (and probably some enemies) and can't believe that there was no notice or anything. How unprofessional. I can't get on but my profile is still up. I have no desire to connect on Facebook. Thanks Sodahead, how pathetic.

I used to like SodaHead a lot. It was an interesting and different take on social networking being able to make and vote on various polls and even occasionally discuss them was an awesome premise.

Well, now SodaHead is nothing more than a corporate polling software, where they have locked all the previous accounts on the site so they are there but the users can not access them. I returned to SodaHead earlier this year and was pretty miffed about the changes and the fact that I cannot even delete my old account.

I have met some really great folks on here that I would have never known otherwise. From all parts of the world they come to this site. But then I've also met others...!

I have found that most of those that differ from me ideologically are to the extreme opposite and most do not represent their main-stream party. We are all passionate in our beliefs and I don't think we change many minds, but one thing we do do, is get a bit of understanding of what the other side's thought process is. (Sometimes that's not so great either.)

Excellent site for interacting on any topic.
In fact, you pick the topic or the question with the option of adding multiple choice answers.
Adding pictures is easy and as they say a picture is worth a thousand words.
Highly recommend it if you want to have some fun.

Too many glitches, slow, adds all over the place, not discrete

Gangs from private groups compete to be top of a' leader board' psychologically forcing stupid multiple questions and private groups concoct plans to attack each other in the political area and why they dont separate religion is beyond me its never debateable I'm sick of it

Tip for consumers:
its intoxicating to give your opinions but beware there are very angry people there you need the hide of an elepahant

If your ideas are popular and you have something of value to add to the conversation, you'll get love, if your ideas are unpopular, you'll either be ignored or attacked. If you like to debate, you'll probably enjoy it, but if you can't disagree with other people without it turning into a fight, you'll be fighting a lot. Be prepared to have your ideas challenged.

I like it because having to defend an belief is a good way to tell if it's really valid or not. It has definitely helped me hone my perspective.

It was really quite fun trolling the republicans who got mad very easily. Heard it got shut down years after I stopped using it. Seems most of it's user base moved over to Facebook to post the usual anti-vax, conspiracy nonsense. Still, I remember there were those who had my back- it wasn't entirely overrun by conservatives. So it goes.

You know, if you get past all the hateful people, there are some amazing people and discussions on there. Also, from what I've read, people are like 'It's anti-conservative' or 'it's against being a liberal', let me say this. You ONLY see it that way because you WANT to see it that way. If you go past the first layer of people, you'll meet great people and have great discussions and debates. You just have to WANT to find them.

Don't let the idiots at Sodahead get you down. After all, this is the internet, and you are bound to run into them sooner or later.

I've been on this site for over 4 years and have made many Dear friends and really gotten an education. If you have respect and aren't rude you may eliminate any trouble you may have here. SodaHead has been a real experience I'm grateful I've had. Nothing's perfect.

I miss not being able to have SodaHead and going on there everyday and asking and answering questions that were on there. Not only was it interesting, but I found it fun and I wish it were back. I stayed on here all the time.

Where have all the SodaHeads that got disconnected gone? Is there another forum or site similar to the old SodaHeads?

I did love SH and jad friends there. Like all sites, it had it's good and bad but overall, was great. Then with no notice, old Pfef sold out, shut everyone except the money people out and it went away with no notice. Personally, I think that was despicable! Would love to find another site like it, hopefully finding some of my friends again. As far as the new SodaHeads? Have absolutely no interest in it.

SodaHead pivoted to focus on its service solutions for publishers. They dropped support for their community site because they achieved success on their ad-supported polling product Pollware. They already had a SaaS solution for ESPN, FoxNews, Los Angeles Times and other big publishers. Now Pollware will help the small and large publishers alike.
