Stop the intrusive ads
April 12, 2024

I am a steady user daily going onto the pch app and web site and i love playing the games. I enter the sweeps and i like playing but now the intrusive ads are getting to me. Some ads let you skip after five seconds and i like that, what i dont like is some ads you dont have the option to skip. Sometimes you can refresh to get the ads you can skip. But other times whatever sweep your trying to enter goes away and takes you to another page. I am a person that doesnt like to be forced into watching or doing anything i dont like. Now before when i played the games there are ads that are on the bottom and you can X them out to get them out of the way. Now, whether i am on the app or website these ads are now poping up when i am trying to play majong and it is showing up on the game which then distracts me and then I lose my progress.
Now all these ads are personally annoying and some offensive. Lately there is one that pops up about sex postions or something like that.
So lets get to the ads, i dont want to watch an ad about health insurance ( I have my own, and if i didnt i would not be researching them from ads. Or ads about extravagant trips to exotic places, ( I dont want to watch them, Because I wont ever be able to go because I am low income and struggle to buy food. So i dont want to be reminded of that fact.) Or, Products that i cant afford to buy, why do i want to remind myself that i cant have that. And the one that bothers me the most is when it is showing cancer patients and showing something about medication or the trials or the experiencs of going through kemo or radiation treatments ( My mom had cancer, watched her go through both kemo and radiation, she past away after 6 year battle. I defiantly don't want to be reminded.
PCH go back to allowing people to skip ads if they want, or whoever wants to waste there time watching these useless ads by all means.
I just want to enjoy playing to take my mind off of real life and all that comes with it. Just want to play, but now I really dont because for a 60 second game i have to watch five mins of an ad. And honestly when I am forced to watch an ad i want to finish my game i will go to the rest room so i am not watching it anyway.
But now the ads are so long, and there are multiple ads for one game and intrusive to what your playing, it isnt fun anymore. Please just let people enjoy there games, and don't force a person to watch the whole ad, give the option to skip, and stop the extra ads that pop up on the bottom, and in front of the game.
This applies to both web site and app. None of these ads are worth watching, and even thought you need advertisers that's great but don't force it down my throat, give me the option to skip.
I used to to all the sweeps, all the scratch cards and the lotto and all the games, but now i pick a select few because there is not enough time in a day for me to do them all now, not like I use too.

They must be hurting
June 21, 2023

This month they have changed the number of times you can apply to win a million/dollarized prize on their home page which was replete with games. Same with the 7 million or five million. Or any prizes amount they offer. Previously these amounts were able to be won in a variety of games they offer but Each game could only be played once. Now you play once for any amount and you're totally waiting your time playing for that amount anywhere else except in search, lotto, or two games they offer on line, oh and also in surveys, which I refuse to play. Have a ton of marketers know you most intimate info? No way!
They are reducing the number of chances you have to win and killing the number of times the people who advertise with them get to have you see their ads or merchandise.
They are now increasing the interval time in their on-line games with more ad time there instead.
Both make anyone not want to play any of their games. Its very defeating.
I have been a customer for 40 plus years. I only buy occasionally and it it only something I need. They say I've been a customer since 2004-5 but I started in the 80s (all games were played by mail) when they did not have computerized history.
I did enjoy playing their online games but now they take twice as long to earn the same number of chances to win as before. I am not undergoing misconceptions that winning is nearly impossible. If you look at what a millionaire is; it's kinda deceiving. They take a million and divide it over 25 years into $29.000.00 a year increments. Considering the taxes on this,...you stand a chance to really to win only $14,000.00 a year.
Not a million. And you have to live 25 years. With the dollar worth 10 cents on what it was in 1970, you get my drift.
Recently they have allowed their largest "super prize" to be given to a successor when you pass. That is an awesome offer. But it has only been recent and on a few games. Haven't seen it much this year.
All the amounts under a million-$900,800,700,600,$500,000 are similiarly broken down over 25-20 years.
Thus you really will only garner $12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7000.00 a year
Where you can will the entire amount is under 475K. There are prizes of $450,400,300,200,100,75,000.00, 50, 40, 30 15, 10, 6-5-and so on.
But pay close attention to the rules because they are generally two years from today.
The odds are in the "BILLIONS" to win a prize. The only prize being won is reduced further if it's offered (ea. Attempt is offered a billion plus times.) You have to hit the exact one. So we're really talking near impossible. It may be offered and the offer is not taken.
Your best odds are really long, as long as winning the lotto and thats the guess the exact 5-6-7 numbers in their "lotto games". I have seen only one be won in last 5 years, and it was for $4000,000.00 oh and a couple of million games.
It is a free chance unlike the store where you truly throw your money away trying to win the same.
Thus this is their best game to play.
To win a vehicle (valued at highest retail price) the odds are also incredibly long but the chances are free unlike games of choice that cost dollars.
So my advice is playing games for free (which now demand you spend more time watching ads) is truly the best attempt to win.
They have been much better at letting you know the cost of what you are buying,, showing you the mailing fee plus your item. The mailing fee, which is on an arbitrary system based on valuation rather than the actual mailing cost. So an item for $15.00. The mail fee is $7,00 thus making the total nearer $22.00
The item going for $20.00 has a higher mailing fee even though it does not weigh any more and might even be smaller.
So Caveat Emperor
I do enjoy playing the games personally because they are free. Free gambling is the best kind.
Your time is the cost. What is your time worth? Playing all their games on a laptop and a cell phone to reduce the total time invested leaves you at approximately 5 hours daily. On one devise approximately 6-7 hours. You really must justify this. I figure hundreds of chances on their games beat once or twice all dy long. But still, you must divide 5000 chances into odds of billions
I do play as I am retired and remember my Mom playing on her extremely limited income (SS) and wishing to heaven she'd win. I wanted to help her so very bad.
Those days in the 60-80s were amplified with deception marketing practices where the person buying items was often led to believe they were on the cusp of winning. Or had won.Period.
After multiple lawsuits PCH made the changes to spell out everywhere "that you had not yet won, but you might." Now a days,. It's strictly "you have not won, and buying won't enhance your chances" which is what they should have done all those years ago. My Mom really thought and believed she had won.
One of the main reasons I play is to make her dream come true. Sure I could use the money, who cannot?
But I have a deep desire to make her dream come true.
I know the odds, I know the costs, now you do too

Don't do it!
November 17, 2020

While I do not work for publishers clearing house, I do work for the company that handles their mail and shipping.

Dear Publishers Clearing House Customers,

The following post is all in my opinion.

I want to let you about this company. I have been working for the company since March 2020. I've seen things that shouldn't happen and things that should. I work for Fulfillment Distribution Center in St. Cloud, MN. PCH uses FDC for their orders, and shipping. I work in the department where we open your mail, sort out the orders, turn in name and address changes and collect your money. What they don't want you to know is that the customer is being fooled. I read your letters and feel your hurt about your struggles and how with Covid you're still ordering in hopes of winning even if you have no money. They say 'no purchase necessary' if that was true why do we sort out your orders from non orders? They get run through us outsorters, and I have heard one of my managers even say more then likely FDC will not run it because they don't wanna take the time to. I'm not saying they do that to all of them, but most. The shipping and handling prices are way too high in my opinion and I have found the same products for cheaper on the web. Most don't charge anywhere near what PCH does. I've read letters from people crying about not being able to order and are worried they won't be entered. You have the right to worry.

FDC hires for $10.00 an hour and if you really need a job, they're always hiring. Always. In my opinion it's because of the low pay, the broken policies and procedures, safety, and down right racism and discrimination. Your orders and letters are handled mostly by Non Americans, I've noticed these people don't really give a care. These people don't care if a stamp has fallen off your order form, and throwing away checks, money (for those who send cash) as well as your order forms. These people will pick up discarded stamps from the floor and tape it on ANY order form. Then when you receive your order you DIDN'T place, upon returning it are then sometimes charged for the shipping even though it ISN'T your fault. The $30 free gifts they send out aren't free as they turn around and charge you shipping for them. The products are crap, in my opinion PCH and FDC don't care and if you're lucky you might win some small piddly amount of money that will never amount to what you've already spent. I'm sorry for those that have been playing and paying for decades. There is always another drawing, every 2 months. Some of the order forms sound threatening. 'if you don't buy something you'll be lowered a level' also your customer appreciation forms are sent to everybody. It doesn't matter if you're a customer of 40 years or a customer of 40 days. It doesn't matter.

PCH and FDC make a lot of money off your hopes and dreams. With this money you give them, you'd think they'd do a better job creating the forms and stamps that go with the money you've been paying, lately there are so many forms that have so many steps when most of those steps aren't even necessary, forms are confusing. You, the customers need to know these things.

For those of you who still order from PCH, here are a few things you need to know to try and make sure your orders are received. Use tape to put your stamps down. Scotch tape, not shiny or any other tape, no glue. If you are ordering more items then there are boxes, tape them to the order form or another piece of paper. Don't just leave stamps loose, they get thrown away. Also I've been told no more then 14 items an order form. Do not send cash, as it is never guaranteed whether it'll even make it to billing because of dishonest people that work for FDC. Expect high shipping costs and crappy items to order, don't expect to win because more then likely you won't. Whether you've been ordering for years or not.

I know speaking about this can get me fired, (which is also why this is being done anonymously) however in my opinion I can't let you keep being led down a path that you shouldn't be. Maybe this will get posted and these companies will actually remember you are more then just a customer ID number. There are a small few of us who do care. Those of us, we read your letters. I wish there was more that I could do. I can only hope that this will get PCH and FDC to stand up and fix things instead of just taking your money. You shouldn't keep getting screwed. Please share this with anyone you know who uses PCH please. Thank you.

Scammable much...?
August 9, 2020

My history with PCH:

I used to throw every piece of junk mail away without even opening it.
About a year ago, I somehow signed up for PCH on-line. I think I played some sort of game. I never would download the app. But I was inundated with emails - like 10 a day. I played a series of 'number reveal' games a couple of times a week, but I finally unsubscribed bc it was ridiculous - it basically amounted to something like playing slot machines. No strategy available to win. You just tap images and see if numbers match, which of course, IF they were to do so, you'd have to play for hours on end everyday. Then, they send you endless messages like 'just 2 more steps!' 'Show us you want to win!'...
I read other sites where people say they won $10. Wooo. After HOW MANY HOURS of play?
So, as I said, I unsubscribed from the daunting, insane, daily flood of PCH email.

Then, I sent in a chance to win from a regular USPO mail I recieved.
I've also purchased 4 or 5 items from the USPO mailings I received. The items I purchased were ok. I gave 2 stars for that reason only. I tend to purchase unusual things or a quantity item.
But now, I get at least THREE envelopes WEEKLY from PCH packed with half pages of items they wanna sell me anywhere from 'only 5 payments of 1.99 to 5 payments of 3.99, plus shipping which is never less than $9 per item or MORE.

So here are some thoughts to ponder:

First, you & I will be better off buying stock in logging & papermills. The amount of trees & processing to create these mailings will be what makes us rich!

Secondly, 99% of the items they have for sale can be purchased in Wal Mart, Dollar General, Family Dollar, etc, for 1/3rd the total item-cost & shipping fee. As I said, the only purchases I made were for a few unusual things I don't see in dollar stores. But a purchase is not worth the deluge of junk mail you'll get.

Third, every week, in each pack of their mail I get different winning numbers. I can go out of my way & mail in any number as many times as I like, but quantity-entering is the criteria to increasing your odds, so how many $11 books of stamps is anyone willing to go thru, PER number? That's $11 worth of gambling per book of stamps. I get 2 or 3 packs of junk a week from them! How many chances would I put a stamp on to enter per number? 5, 10, 20, 50, 100?
Ridiculous costly, gambling.

Also, when you send in an envelope, there is an enclosed pamphlet of odds, and it states no purchase necessary to win. But that is written no where on the envelope, nor the stamps & stickers you are required to attach IF purchasing OR NOT purchasing - yes, they differentiate. In fact, multiple written comments insinuate buying helps you.
Of course, it does not.
Also, those 'criteria' stickers are intentionally mixed in with the item flyers and you have to find them amongst the pack of papers & attach them in the proper place - you always feel unsure you did it right or missed something. Of course, if you don't follow directions you'd be instantly disqualified.
Furthermore, if I'm not buying, and 'marking' my envelope as such, how do I know its not being automatically tossed in the waste bin? I'm sure it is.

Fourth issue - you can find NOTHING about the history of past winners, nor can you google anything to find out where any person is 5 years or a decade after winning the $5000 a-week-for-LIFE (or whatever the sum is now)
No one has ever met someone who won that kind money - am I to believe that anyone & everyone who ever won 'big' simply disappeared - no sister of an aunt's cousin's, cousin's friend even knows where any of these people are 5 years down the road?

This adds to my incredulity, not about whether any human being ever won this money - I think they win for a 'show', but I'm wondering whether they got more than 2 or 3 of these six-digit weekly checks until a loophole was found to disqualify them, or by 'some freak' accident they got killed or died suspiciously. Hmm!?

I guess as human beings we will, most of us fantasize about being wealthy enough to have and do things - not only that we want to have & do, but truly need.

I'm going to continue to trust The One who meets all my needs & even some of my wants. Yes, I fell into the rabbit hole a little ways, but not so far as a lifestyle. Thankfully - I got out, brushed myself off & walked away, now aware of how this trap looks.

PCH is helping the scammers
December 2, 2019

I am writing this warning to all those who are PCH Member's. I received a email on the 22nd of October from PCH, When I open the email it said act now to enter for your chance to win $2.500 a week for life. It was a survey that came up. I took the survey answering many of the question's skipping over others when the survey was over I was offered a $1000 Walmart gift Card the condition was I must choose from a list of items offered I chose rakuten, I never got any confirmation that my Card was going to be sent.

I of course called PCH customer service and was informed PCH dose not do Survey's. I told there rep I have been scammed by PCH. In the fine print below the submit button it says You agree to Third parties contacting you. After I had taken the survey about 10 seconds later I received a Call From a woman that sounded like she was from India telling me my Diabetic supply's was ready for shipping. I said I do not have an order and she hangs up. The only way The Third Party affiliates could have obtained my Phone number was because PCH gave it to them.

After I called PCH to complain Minute's later the web page was shut down. I captured the Image and I have other's. They changed the content it now reads when completing the survey it now says "YOU ARE QUALIFIED". I ask if you are a member of PCH and you receive a email from them with a survey. Take it answer all the questions then click submit and see how long it takes you to get a call from someone. Then ask them how they got you're Number I bet they hang up. I do not open emails when I do not know who is sending it. These snakes are hiding under PCH Name and PCH Knows what they are doing!

I plan on filing complaint with the FBI FTC and BBB. I do not know if it is a violation of the HIPPA ACT But I am betting many of you have not agreed to give you're personal contact information to Third Parties who are contacting you under the umbrella of PCH. Chris from PCH who is a executive with PCH has asked for time to investigate But given PCH shut the page down and changed the content I find it hard to believe that they have my best interest at heart. My intent is to flood the internet every web site I can research and post on. I ask you to copy and paste and share with everyone you know.

If you have the same Problem and you get telemarketers and a bunch of spam mail please forward it to PCH and Chris, *******@pch.com, And *******@pch.com. PLEASE copy and paste this on every web site. Lets get the word out. Thank you.

Pathetic and Pointless
July 12, 2019

PCH is one of the most pointless hobbies, and for those who are overly confident with the positive reviews about that you will win sweepstakes someday, not only you will be in trouble, but also frustration will mount up on you. When I call these people before drawings and ask them about what is the particiular sweepstakes award date which was the ford they intentionally jump into the contest for August which I didn't even asked. That's one red flag. Another big problem is that when you don't win regarding to the amount of effort and time and letters you send to this company they lousy answer will be that your chances of winning are an equality to other people. It's the worse excuse I ever heard of, because when looking at the photos of winners most of them are elderly adults past my mother and fathers age. Then when I read the description it says that they have retired which makes me ask myself why are they playing at there old age and they will see benefit when they get paid for retirement. What they're doing is decreasing odds for other people at any age to win. Another gigantic problem is the winners are from the same sorry states, such as Florida, Oklahoma, New York, and Ohio. I wonder if that's a day at the beach for the prize patrol to celebrate, and not going through every eastern state, such as Maryland, because that's where I'm from. Also to make matters worse like most of you people stating which couldn't be a better way of putting it is that they have to many ads all over the page like PCH is a theme for ads and not playing to win, but use ads as obstacles for contestants to stumble. Also when selecting a sweepstake a week for ever they have too many merchandises all over the page to slow you down and capture you buying there things which is consider cheating and scamming the consumers. PCH is intentionally making it harder for consumers to win, because of how the protocol is set up, and how they find favorite on people who has been buying their products because chances are there houses have been the ones the prize patrol had set to visit, because of more communication the consumers had buying their stuff compare to the ones who haven't purchasing have slimmer chances. That's a gigantic problem for me to look at and making sense of that. Someone said that the federal should inspect this place and I totally agreed with that. ITS BOGUS. And no playing lottery from your state paying to play isn't going to resolve anything. You will loose money and maybe time. But then, I see that time matters more than money so I can understand why you feel that playing from a state is better, because of time, but its not going to help financially in the long run. But Pch is damn sure not an exception. The best thing to do will be doing pch but play lotto so that way out of 8 numbers you can monitor your odds of winning compare to joining in their lame sweepstakes. My chance was as high as 75% almost won 10,000. Also 62% for life is rich, and mega multipler. When I win I will go through the process of claiming an award and getting paid, and never join PCH again. EVER!
