The shipping didn't take long at all. Although the pricing was a little weird to me i still paid because i knew it would be amazing. It looks exactly like the reference photo that i sent in. I can't wait to show my mom because i'm for sure it's going to make her cry

The service was very good and professional. First I uploaded several photographs. The PaintYourLife people edited them to create a suitable composition for the painting, which I could then either approve or request changes for. After that the painting phase took about 10 days. I had some requests for changes, which were handled without any questions. The painting I received is lovely and I also like the frame they put it in. The person I bought it for was very happy with it.

My only nitpick is with the delivery. I didn't know this at the time, but the painting would be imported from the UK. I live in the EU, so there was a significant (possibly Brexit-related) delivery delay and an import fee that I was not previously informed about. I understand these things are beyond the control of this company, but as I wasn't even told where the painting would be shipped from, I had no idea what was going on when the announced delivery date came and went, and the fee also came as a surprise. For the future, I would prefer this information to be added to the automated correspondence.

Finally, a tip for people looking to buy a painting as a gift for a particular event: Start on time! The website says that the painting can be done in as little as two or three weeks, but that's assuming you do not have any requests for changes and there are no delivery delays. I thought one month was a safe time span, but now I know it is better to give yourself at least two months.

It's beautifully painted. For the Artist work it's a 5 out of 5. For the price, it would be 2 out of 5. The price is overly expensive and maybe un affordable for many. Had I not had extra income unexpectedly, this would only be a wish list.

That an interesting service which I recommend, because I know how it works, I can to do it, but to be honest this service could save your time when you need it. I bought one time a portrait for my close friend with his wife in last year. The work was cool, and they did like it. But as I'm an artist too, I saw a little bit of mistakes in the art. And only from this point of view I took away one star. In general good service!

The reason for 4 stars is the spam amounts of emails I receive from the company as well as how confusing it is to get to my dashboard. You cannot access it from the main site. I have to sift through my emails to find my dashboard. I've also been sent duplicate emails and left multiple reviews and it's STILL asking me to leave a review through a different portal.

In short: GREAT product, marketing needs some tweaks

Overall the process was easy and quick. Making adjustments was very easy and painter responded quickly! Thanks for a great product

They absolutely loved it, their dad/grandfather/ wife passed away recently and the portrait with all four of them was amazing. They actually didn't have a picture of themselves with dad. This portrait allowed them to all be together forever

Great experience ordering online, nice and easy. Quality work done by the artist and I am very pleased and will tell everyone about Paint your Life! Unfortunately, the shipper must have dropped the box because there was a huge gash in the box and went thru to the painting, but with there special packing didn't damage the painting.

I got the painting done for my cousin. His mother passed away when he was 3 years old and they don't have any photos together. I look forward to surprising him with it!

I've ordered three paintings from this service (slow learner), and none have been close to well done. The first was a portrait, and I understand it can be difficult to capture a person's essence from a photo, but honestly, no one could've recognized the subject as my sister. I sent several reference photos and we went back and forth for months, but in the end I ran out of time for gift giving and had to approve it. I still wince whenever I see that painting. The next attempt was of two people seen only from the back, with tattoos, the two parts of which formed an entire image. I figured with no faces to worry about, it should be pretty straightforward. At the same time I commissioned a second painting, which was a dog sitting in a field with mountains in the background. Easy Peasy. When I got the proof of the people with tattoos, I was at first elated - it was really a nice painting. But then I noticed the tattoos were messed up. I sent photos very clearly showing the details, and the artist changed it, but got it wrong again. More photos. Wrong in a different way. With the birthday this gift was intended for already passed, I gave up and approved the painting. When it came, I bought oil paints and fixed it myself. Meanwhile, the painting of the dog was proofed. Finally, a really nice painting with nothing wrong! Elated, I approved it, and it showed up a few days later. Taking out the painting out to admire it, I was stunned to see a very obvious splash of some sort of liquid across the whole middle of the canvas. I contacted Paint Your Life, outlining the problem, and they sent back a very courteous email telling me how I could easily fix the crease in the canvas with sponges, water and an iron. When I replied that I had never said there was a crease, and what were they going to do about the stain across the center of my painting, they replied that they would give me a refund of $50 to defray the cost of a local artist here, who I could hire to work on it. If you've read all the way through this narrative, you are doubtless thinking I'm a moron for going through all this without blowing my stack and demanding they repay every penny of what I paid. And you would be right. But at least my experience has provided you longsuffering readers with a cautionary tale.UPDATE: after posting this review, Paint Your Life contacted me and was quite apologetic and wanted to make things right. They made a generous offer which I accepted, and I consider this to be sufficient for me to rescind my criticism. Well done, PYL.

Ordered two pictures. One very large acrylic and one smaller done in pencil. The second was important birthday gift and it's been waiting to ship since July 29 considering it takes 10 days for the first to arrive

Overall I am pleased by everything. It was a lovely and special experience watching my mother open this painting. I thank you all for everything. The only negative thing is I am fairly sure I purchased a frame and did not receive that.

Paint looks good, i had to ask them to adjust few things here and there but paint looks good.

It was a great and simple experience. My mom loved it. And it also came earlier then it was estimated.

Packing damage, in shipping cardboard busted also backing on frame damaged. Recommend placing more dense packing foam between box and picture.

I am very pleased with how my portrait turned out with the pictures I decided to use and cannot wait to give to my mom at Christmas
