Omics Online has been part of several controversies recently. It is accused to be one of the biggest group of predatory publishers on the internet today. People have often said that Omics Online is nothing but a big fraud. I recently had an experience with Omics Online and I can agree with the fact that it is nothing but a group of con publishers on the internet. In May 2017, I came across the predatory publishers known as Omics Online on the internet while I was searching for a reliable publishing house to take my book on advanced vehicle dynamics further. I have PhD in motorsport vehicle dynamics and have worked with some of the biggest F1 teams in the country. I have also mentored several student F1 teams in and out of India. After years of ground-breaking research, I was ready with my book on advanced vehicle dynamics. I needed support from a professional and reliable publishing house. Omics Online promised to publish my book under their good name. The con publishers at Omics Online said that they want to take my book and publish it as the industry's standard for students. I was excited to work with Omics Online despite its few negative reviews. I was in touch with Mark from Omics Online to publish my book. I usually do a complete research on negative reviews and complaints before ordering anything online. I did the same with Omics Online. I asked Mark point blank, why did the internet have so many negative reviews and complaints against Omics Online. He said that most of these negative reviews were fake and they came out of jealousy from other publishing houses. Now I wish that I did not trust the con publishers at Omics Online. Mark ran an excellent scam and he seemed friendly. He said that I will have to share a complete record of my findings and calculations in hard copy for them to publish the book. I thought that this was the standard procedure followed by all publishing houses. So, I shared all my documents with the predatory publishers at Omics Online instantly. Mark said that they have the necessary experts on their team to evaluate my calculations and then make the necessary corrections. I trusted the predatory publishers at Omics Online to get back to me soon so that I can see my book published. Mark promised that someone from Omics Online will get back to me within 2 months with a comprehensive analysis of the book. I never thought that the con publishers at Omics Online will utilize this opportunity to run their fraud scheme and publish the book under the name of a different author. Mark from the team of con publishers at Omics Online kept me in the loop for 2 months to ask for all the references and support that it needed to publish the book. I worked with the predatory publishers at Omics Online for over 2 months to collate my research and fine tune the book. I was happy to see my book taking a final shape with Omics Online and was excited about its launch. I truly wanted to help the students learn vehicle dynamics in the real world. On completing the research, the predatory publishers at Omics Online said that they will require one more week to add the necessary images and finalize the print of the book. Mark asked for 1500 dollars to complete the scam and publish the book. He also said that he will send me a copy of the book so that I can evaluate it before publishing at a massive scale. August 2017 was the last I heard from the con publishers at Omics Online. I never heard back from Mark or Omics Online again after that. I waited for a couple of weeks and tried contacting them again too. I soon realized that I was scammed. 1500 dollars is not a big deal for me, so I let it go. Since I had a complete soft copy of the book and the research, I thought that it was time for me to approach another publishing house to publish the book. This is when I realised how truly Omics Online and its group of con publishers operated as a fraud. I approached another popular publishing house to raise a complaint and told them how I lost 1500 dollars with Omics Online and want to publish my book with them. The publishing refused my request in the first instance. I was shocked when I found that Omics Online had already published my book under the name of some other author. Omics Online did not even have the courtesy to change the diagrams that I drew by my hand and published the same in the other book. Omics Online made an exact replica of my book and published it under the name of some pseudo author! I tried contacting Omics Online again but could not reach them. I was furious and I tried filing a lawsuit against Omics Online for the fraud its committed against me. Unfortunately, I did not have an NDA with these con publishers for the book to be published. I was spellbound when the lawyers refused to take up my case. My reputation as an author is effectively ruined now. I wish that I never came across the name of Omics Online in my life. No other publication house would even consider my case of publishing the same or even a different book. I am posting this complaint so that other aspiring authors stay away from the predatory publishers operating at Omics Online. I also suggest all the authors sign an NDA first and meet at least one representative from the publication house before sharing your important research. I don't want any other author to go through the pain of having his/her book published under the name of a pseudo author. Please stay away from the scammers and fraudsters at the predatory publishers known as Omics Online.
