I've accidently left a set of keys (to my apartment and letterbox) and security card at my friend's place, so I asked my friend to send it to me through NZ Post. After what seemed like forever without receiving the parcel, I called in to find out what's going on, only to learn that the parcel has apparently been delivered.
After trying to persuade NZ Post that I've never got the parcel, they told me that they would send someone to try and locate the parcel. And after TWO WEEKS, NZ Post finally confirmed that the parcel went missing. When I asked them about compensations for the lost post, the customer service representative told me it's MY fault that I've lost my keys and security card, and that the company is not responsible for the loss of valuable objects. When I told the representative that every parcel posted are valuable, and that even if the parcel I posted wasn't, they've still lost it. The representative told me that the company will only be speaking to the senders about claiming losses and not the receivers (which is stupid because I'm basically both the sender and the receiver - my friend is just sending it on my behalf).
Anyway, I sent NZ Post the receipts for replacing everything that was lost (which includes having to rekey the property because the apartment I live in uses Armstrong security which don't make new copy of keys for security seasons), which showed that it'd cost me a total of $348.13
However, today my friend got an email from NZ Post saying they'll ONLY compensate for what's lost in the post (which means they'll not be paying for the price, $163, involved in rekeying the property) and they were also trying to find out whether I've also changed the lock for my letterbox (so that they can pay less).
This is what I've been dealing with over the last one and a half month, and I'm especially mad that the parcel was missing for almost three weeks (the first few days was when they've apparently delivered the post but I never got it) before the parcel was officially declared missing. And during that time, I wasn't sure if I should change my locks or not, as the parcel contains my address and access to my home. Yes, maybe I was very stupid for trusting NZ post with posting my keys and security card, but after this incident, I doubt that I would ever want to post anything again, especially not with NZ Post.
I had a parcel to be delivered to me in Auckland which was picked up in Napier. The web site said they expect 2-3 day delay.
The day after when it was picked up from the sender, the tracking status said it had arrived in Auckland and is getting processed at Highbrook depot.
Then for more than 7 days, the status had never changed.
I rang customer service a few times and had the luck to get connected to a real person once. The staff told me because the item is oversized, it couldn't be delivered to the pickup point where I redirected previously. Again, no such mention was shown on the tracking site. She then asked me for an alternative delivery address so I gave my home address.
A few days passed and hadn't heard anything, tracking status was the same so I rang them again and asked if I can just come and pick it up but I was told that all the Auckland depots are not open to the public and I have to wait.
I was quite pissed off and so wrote an email as well and on the next day, a guy called Ben Kirk who works at Highbrook Depot investigation sent me a very brief two-line email that literally says "You can go to Sandringham Depot and pick it up." It didn't have any information such as the address of the depot, its opening hour, whether it is open to the public and so on.
I wrote him back an email complaining how unprofessional his email is and asked for clarification. Again, hadn't heard back from him so I just had to drive there. When I got there, the facility had all the doors and gates closed. After a few times yelling 'Hello', a lady came out and told me they are not open to the public. I told her I was instructed to come and pick up my parcel and gave her the tracking number. 10 minutes later she came back out and said that they had the parcel but it had just been taken to NZ Post Victoria St. I was absolutely furious but she was really apologetic and so I had to pull out and drive to Victoria street and finally picked up my parcel weeks after it was sent. In addition, the lady behind the counter at Victoria St was shockingly rude which almost made me think she knew the whole story.
Now I'm also waiting for another parcel that suppose to arrive last Friday. I rang them up a couple of days ago and it seems all I can do with NZ Post delivery delay is just wait.
I gave a called to the Nz post to follow up with my package which was from USA and unfortunately that went missing and they said that my parcel has been gone back to the sender and they give me excuse of saying that my address was wrong, I spoke to a person named Daniel and he told me in a rude manner saying that my package has gone back to where it came from in there's no guarantee that the person who sent it to me will received this package because they do not put tracking on the package that's been returning to! He also mentioned that it will take about 3months! He also mentioned that they have a photo of my package that did not have the right address or my number whereas the person who sent me that package they put everything That was required on the package and he told me that he has photo and when I requested for that photo he gave me an act right of privacy where is that package belongs to me And doesn't want to show me via email and then he told me that Whatever photo was taken by the nz post but act of government it is not allowed to enclose to customers and then he was talking in a rude way to me I asked him 3 times and in that three times he say he cannot give me a photo of my product and therefore I also asked him if he has a photo of product can you read out the address that is on the package and he said that it due to privacy he can't do that so clearly your service is pathetic you guys need to act up you, y'all are lies and you guys need tell us customers the truth whereas I have the emails when I did an inquiry about my package and in that email it was never mention that my address and my phone number wasn't on my package so stop lying nz post customer service
