I recently purchased a size 6 Mac Duggal sequined jumpsuit from Madam Bridal using the Mac Duggal size guide. The day I received it I contacted Madame Bridal to arrange for a size exchange to an 8. Madame Bridal was difficult to reach and when they finally did email me back, their reply was disrespectful and arrogant: They refused to exchange or refund the Mac Duggal jumpsuit and this was their response:

"We always encourage our customers to order their actual size rather than a size or 2 smaller in the hopes that by the time they wear the garment they will fit in it. We will take up your case with the designer Mac Duggal."

So, I posted a one-star review for Madame Bridal on trust pilot, Facebook, Yelp, Google Reviews, Trip Advisor, the Better Business Bureau, and Site Jabber.

I received a text on my cell phone and this email from Madame Bridal:

"Hi Jill, my name is Simon. I am the owner of Madame Bridal. I do want to start by saying that our response to your concerns was wholly inappropriate.
Therefore this is what I am proposing. Please return the jumpsuit back to our store.
I already refunded your account.
I further would like to do the following. I would like to send you the size that you are looking for at no cost to you.
I owe you another explanation...
We just follow Mac Duggals policy. In other words we pay for these dresses just like to pay us. And Mac duggal has no refund policy for individual stores.
In some intetances you can order directly from Mac duggal. In those types of situations Mac Duggal offers a full refund.
What happens now is we will take your jumpt suit back and put it in our inventory in hopes of selling it one day.

For all this we ask that if this offer is acceptable to you, please change your comments and your one star review on both sites.

So, in summary, Madame Bridal gave me terrible customer service and accused me of being delusional about my dress size. Then Madame Bridal saw my reviews: They refunded me and then offered to bribe me with another jumpsuit for free IF I WOULD CHANGE MY NEGATIVE REVIEWS. They asked me to lie to you so they could continue to provide shoddy service to the public. Look at the reviews for yourself. So many people have had the same issue with the company!

I stumbled upon Madame Bridal when I called there for an evening gown that I saw on Google. Immediately I knew the woman that I was speaking with was incredibly honest and knowledgeable. She explained the gown I was inquiring about wasn't appropriate for the black tie wedding I was attending. I really appreciated her honesty
Madame Bridal is clearly miles ahead of any dress shops I have ever dealt with. Living in Bergen County NJ I have the "BEST" dress shops just a stone's throw away, in Manhattan, NJ, Westchester and Connecticut. But none of them can come close to the extraordinary experience I had with Madame Bridal. Helen and Simon at MB are skilled experts at helping women find the "perfect dress." Helen was incredibly patient and took a genuine interest in helping me. She gave me the best advice and showed me the most elegant evening gowns.
This Memorial Day weekend while taking my niece to her bridesmaid fitting at a dress shop in New Jersey, I noticed a lovely Mon Cheri evening gown. The saleswoman wouldn't let me try it on because I didn't have an appointment. I held it up and just loved it. She said I looked like a size 2 or 4 and there was only one 4 left and I probably wouldn't be able to get this size 4 anyway.
The minute I got home, I immediately called Helen at Madame Bridal in Florida, and told her I saw the most beautiful dress while my niece was being fitted. She told me even though it was Saturday evening on a holiday weekend she could order the gown. She assured me that her husband would process the order immediately. Helen had me measure myself accurately. She talked me out of going up a size as it would need too much altering. And any woman that special orders knows it can't be returned if it's too small. I gave her my measurements and she told me I needed a size 4 and it would need minimal alterations. Then she told me of the one size 4 and said I would get it. :) Simon processed the order and sent me the order information. All done on a Saturday night on a Holiday weekend!
Within 10 days my gown arrived from Mon Cheri. LOVELY, ELEGANT and PERFECT! It needs minimal alterations as Helen stated. Wow! She is an expert on every level. It gets even better! My lovely gown was 150 dollars less at Madame Bridal than any other shops on Google. Then, a week after my gown arrived I received stunning crystal earrings from Helen as a gift to wear with my gown.

I only gave one star because nothing less was available! The store has beautiful dresses but it doesn't matter because the customer service is $#*!y! Dont let the owner know you have a problem because once he has your money he DOES NOT CARE! I wish I had taken a picture to show the indifference exhibited! And because all sales are final he really didn't care! So now with less than 3 weeks away my daughter who is a junior bridesmaid has to find another dress! Guess I will put the dress on craigslist! Absolutely terrible terrible terrible customer service! Never again!#yougotmymoneythistimebutnevereveragaininlife! Disgusted person who purchsed a dress from this pig farm!
